Atl doesn't know anything about HOUSE!!!! Its all Chicago, NY, Phili, and DC!!! the Garage, Better Dayz, The Shelter, Sound Factory in NY, Traxx DC, Clubhouse, Delta in DC was the joint!!!! Somebody anybody needs to get in business of owning clubs reopen these historic places & crank the music that made them what they were & the history we share to those that really don't know anything about them & the music they made the club what they were. Some clubs don't come close,
One word " HEEEYYYYYYY!!!! " thats when you know when the dj is throwin down and the crowd loves it. Then all the hands go up in the air and the heads bow down and people close there eyes or grin to their favorite jam.
Who remembers dancing to this music back in the day at Chicago clubs such as Jennals (Irving Park & Fullerton Avenues)??? Great times! Awesome Memories!!! WBMX Hot Mix 5 DJs such as: Scott Smokin Silz, Ralphie Rockin Rosario, Kenny Jamin Jason, Farley Funkin Keith, Mickey Mixin' Oliver, & Julian Jumpin Perez? @shjtyu Being way too young but Laray letting me in anyway. Walking down that long hallway towards the back where the pool table, back bar and bathroom was jackin to the sounds of Ten City , Too far gone no way back and Stevie Wonder's My eyes don't cry house mix. Remembering Gentle screaming on the dance floor and Miss Tasha Thomas doing shows. OH, and of course, Golden Nugget after Laray's, Those were the days!
i real never believe that real or underground house is dead. I feel maybe with the growth of house, that some have forgotten or was truly intoduced to underground. Or maybe the dj's aren't really into underground. Maybe you have to get out & find that club that gives you that true feel. listening to segment, I could not imagine hearing planet rock in the mix with underground. if this is truly what is being played in most clubs, then i am glad I have my record collection and I can burn my cd's.
I'm another Chi-Town SOUTHSIDE brotha livin in ATL...been here 15 years myself...tried to introduce this to these jokers down here....whatever! Long live Chi Town House music!!!
