Author Joni Eareckson Tada found Hope in midst of Despair

Author, artist and disability advocate Joni Eareckson Tada opens up about her story - how she went from depression and despair to an internationally known author and radio host by simply depending on God.

Amidst the dark days of 33 years of psychiatry and schizophrenia, I looked up to Jesus for help and through the stamina and the example of Joni Eareckson Tada I clinged to her perseverance that she showed and I listened very often to her songs when I was depressed and lonely and everybody had left me ( except Jesus ). And when God healed me 1,5 years ago I am very grateful for the what Joni had showed me during those dark hours. And I thank God now and the ministry of JAF for their light they spread with the love of Jesus because He is the real love of God and not as the fickle and untrustworthy love of men.

Lord, since I've been living with the most painful disease known to man and years of mental illness, please give me a platform so that it will always be worth it. God bless everyone texting, watching.

Thank you for teaching me Joni and so God has called me I know to carry on the touch to show these saints how to cope with progressive weakness and intractable pain

It is because of your life experience of a disability and trusting the Lord throughout that I too learned to lean on Him after I was disabled. It's been nearly thirty years now and if I didn't have God in my life, I would have no reason to continue living.

Joni your my inspiration, and Jesus is my streangth, I have suffered a stroke due to being diagnosed with lupus, eveyday God gives me helping hands,and a song, and his love in my weakness.
