I was at the very bottom today with a painful progressive disease and feel no hope in this pain but you have helped me back to life today and I will live each day knowing that Jesus still has a purpose for me to look for whom I can serve or encourage today!

I just wanted to say, since my stroke my body feels awkwardly twisted. But for several months now pain and a level of exhaustion is ruling my every step..., but also lately I take each step with a predominant thought that brings me comfort...that is, I sense the closeness of Jesus as I imagine Him as He walked that road carrying His cross and it's as if I come near to the physical suffering and exhaustion He must have endured. And right there I put His faithfulness before my eyes and I can embrace this journey of Christ and I can rejoice in hope of the glory which is of God. Please pray that I faithfully grow in my cross. Thank you, all of Christ!!!❤❤❤

I have been severely disabled since birth. I learned about Joni shortly after I was saved at age 20. She has taught me how God looks at affliction. I'm sure I wouldn't be here today without what I learned from Joni.

I, too, am a quad, although highly functioning - - I have the use of my arms and hands and I can stand with a walker. God is so good and Joni hits the nail on the head with everything she says!
I am watching her and listening to her because it does help to see someone worse off than you who is making it happen! Thank You, Lord, for placing people like this in our lives! We trust You, Lord, to work all of these things out for good exclamation

Joni, I've been devouring your messages, and blog posts the last month. I had a tobogganing accident last month and have had surgery, and daily pain since then. The prognosis looks good over the coming months, but right now I am struggling with the big picture as I am a mom of many, and some with disabilities as well wondering how I am going to do this. This encourages my spirit more than you know! God bless you and your ministry.

Dear Joni, you are true inspiration to all those who are disabled and those who are not. I have learned in my personal exparience of pain and suffering that going through painful circumstances it actually brings us closer to God. That our pain and suffering is His tool or instrument to bring our attendntion to him and become like Him, in his very own likennnes and charachter. Pain and suffering also teachhes obedinence and we can see it direclty in Jesus life when he was here during his earthly ministry. Bible says that by his wounds we are healed.Jesus can make us whole again despited our brokenness and woudedness. We are brought back to his heart and to be reunited with him. If everything was always well and happy we would never reach out to Him but in our desperate and painful times we are absolutely vonureable and completly dependent on HIm. I am grateful that God can use the very painful tool that we hate to bring back us back to Him. To have this completness in HIm, and experience unity, harmony and onenness. To experience His absolutely profound grace and mercy.. Glory be to the Father and the son and the Holy living Spirit. Amen.

Jesus did not deserve the suffering He endured.
Hearing Joni share her pain lets me catch a glimpse of peacefulness while missing my Father who had suffered unnecessarily, sadly. also, lets me try try in the midsts of the shames, wrongs, and evilness of all my foolish sins to date with faith and hope i may be wiser in any of the days which i am gifted to be still living here on earth among people in christ jesus amen

Dear Dwelllceller Even Joni says she doesn't quite understand the "lesser" in Heaven verse - neither do I, but each of us who love the Lord, but suffer physical ( I do) pain, or mental anguish from grief ( I have lost both an adult son, and my husband, within the past 6 yrs.) KNOW we will sometime be with the Lord, the same Lord who knows our limitations, and the many times when we can only say " help" to the comforter, the Holy Spirit, who " groans to the Lord", our needs, in " words that cannot be uttered". We just do what we are able, whether praying for people, etc., talking in person, or online about salvation, in posts to even strangers. Not everyone has the persevering strength that Joni lives - I certainly don't, but Jesus and " Pray without ceasing" are not "lesser" thongs. Doing nothing is when you have NO concern for anyone. My physical pain is mild, but my grief is all consuming at times. If you live in constant physical pain, you cannot even THINK many/much of the time, I have heard. The Lord loves YOU, as much as anyone, and that you are "in torment" about not "doing enough", for painful reasons, counts with our Lord. Just be so thankful in knowing that, because of God's grace in sending His son to die on that cruel cross, YOU have been redeemed, and will be in Heaven, instead of the Hell that we all deserve. THAT keeps me going. Let it do the same for you, and cast off that "lesser" torment. " Beyond the Sunset, on that bright morning......". 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I had a heart attack age 55 thin fit only one risk factor on Jan 21, 2021. I am struggling with recovering from 4 stents and 2 surgeries.. I had a good diet. No explanation.
There are times she lies in bed in pain so she has to pray and draw closer to God to be delivered from the pain. Been there many times, when I am ignoring God and then there is pain I can not ignore that forces me to seek after HIm for comfort and healing.
Many of us are happy to seek God when we aren't in pain too. It is hard to accept a world w/ so much suffering. It is wonderful that Joni is able to do it so joyously.
Hey Joni I got the Ministry of Suffering the same as you Sister,I always got pain of my past in my guts ,I’ve always been in pain it just got worst,hey Joni I mostly sitting on my bottom and always alone with God
... God does not owe us answers or reasons for His decisions. ...
No He doesnt.But I believe its okay to ask- once we dont step out of faith. It helps us to learn / discover more abt Him,I do believe.And I feel sure He doesnt mind-as that He does wants us to be in that close relationship/ "draw closer to Him".
And when He doesnt want you to know,He is quite capable of telling you to " mind your own business" or " not today"...lol.In His loving way.😇
(I am reminded of the Transfiguration. I believe when He interrupted Peter to tell Him " that's my Son,listen to Him", it was His gentle way of saying " shut up,Peter"-( from his blabbing:).

Joni suffered a Lot but she loves God and Jesus . She knows that God loves us and use her for helping others. The whole world is must know and open their hearts and eyes that God is alive and watching us all. He is a good God who never forsaken us. I was asking Hwy before but when I continue to Read the Holy Bible and pray trust Lord Jesus all my WHY was answered I myself open my eyes and my heart forgive those who hurts me a lot especially the nearest love ones even my man I forgive him ang keep praying for his salvastion and so attached in the world. God answered I know. I am growing wng Only jesus I trust and love the Holy Spirit who is my guidance fofr my daily life. Thanks! God blessed us all.

Great stuff!!.. except for the part at 23-24 mins has left me in torment that I'll be "lesser" in heaven.. I'm in agony now thinking I'm not doing enough for God or making all my suffering as useful as Joni's... this part sounds awfully like living by works or purgatory here on earth.. I suffer scrupulosity and despite loving the rest of the talk now I'm in agony thinking I'll be not as loved in heaven.

It’s not that you’ll be less loved. That will be impossible in Heaven because God’s love is perfect. I think she meant it as there will be different positions on the New Earth. There will be those reigning with Jesus, & there will be servants. But the thing is ALL of us will be either reigning or serving with complete joy & no feeling of being less loved at all!

Reigning IS being a servant. "And the greatest among you is he who serves the rest." Jesus said that He Himself will be a servant in heaven.
He also said, "I am among you as one who serves." And Jesus "is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow."
God will make all things new.

We will never suffer like Jesus suffered
We suffer because of a women. She wanted dominion and likeness of God. Adam gave up his life to save her. Had he not eaten the fruit to save her ,the Lord would have destroyed the woman eve. Women should be grateful for this. Their hair should be long and used as a covering to hide the shame of what they did in the beginning. That is what's caused all this torture and suffering. All this to save a Women. And the Lord said: Now the Man is like us...knowing good and evil. Thus both the man and women died. Satan always uses a Women to destroy a MAN. He did with Adam /Samson and tried to with David.
Each time when i have to face a new hardship of life and ask JESUS: "Why?", i hear HIM saying:
"Because I trust you with that."

Suffering and Naomi Judd's suffering could be compared with one another.

I wouldn't compare those two kinds of suffering. As hard as Joni's suffering is, Naomi's was incredible spiritual and psychological agony. Naoimi tried very hard to endure and to help others as she went through it. I can relate to Naoimi's type of suffering very much.

I'm sorry but I am having a VERY HARD TIME trying to RECONCILE the God of *LOVE* with allowing people to SUFFER. To me, that paints a picture of a man, beating his wife around while insisting, with every kick, punch and slap, that he loved her.
I'm not expecting life to be a sunny, care-free day at the beach 24/7/365, but the last year and a half, for me, has been one of continual anxiety and uncertainty. Like walking, blind-folded through a maze. This is *NOT* LOVE. It's CRUEL.
Poor JOB. Everything's moving along, fine and dandy. He's doing what he should be doing and things are just going along. Next thing he knows, his kids are dead, his life-stock are carted away, and he's covered in boils!
A lady at my church has suffered the loss of her mother, from Alzheimer's and now her husband is on his last legs with the same atrocity. She still insists, *"God Is ALWAYS Good"* . I am a fallen human being and I wouldn't inflict the HELL of ALZHEIMER'S Disease on my worst enemy!
It seems we're stuck between bad or worse. Side with Satan, you end up in hell. Side with God you get PUT THROUGH HELL. Decisions, decisions. 🤷♀
I was born to a woman who didn't even want kids. God KNEW this and yet He let me be born to a woman who would have been just as happy if she'd miscarried. (Abortion wasn't available in the mid 60's)

I don't understand this level of suffering either. I do know God is good, and someday we will understand. We do live in a fallen world, and I think this life is like purgatory. God still loves us w/ a perfect love. The closest I can come to understanding it all is when children thinks their parents don't love them because they don't get everything they think they should have. In many cases, we understand better when we are older that many of the things we wanted wouldn't have always been good for us. I think it will be something like that when we are in the presence of God one day and we get to fully understand why this world was so hard. I don't like how hard life if either. So many people I know are struggling for a bit of happiness too. I look for small moments of joy. I wish there was more, but I've had a bad struggle for a few years too. I still love God no matter what, and I know he always loves us.
Life is a mistery..why would a "so-called" good god take pleasure in waching how good people undergo so much suffering , and he simply watches without doing anything to correct it..? Or that god is the real devil in flesh ,maybe he is weak , probably he doesnt care about us or he doesnt exist..!

God does not take pleasure in our suffering at all. For all the suffering there is in the world, he calls on people who love and seek to help relieve the suffering of others as much as they are able. That's one of the ways that God works through suffering.
Joni YOU are an amazing, cheerful, resilient and beautiful sister in Christ. To attribute your years of suffering to the will of God is a gross mis-reading of the character of the God of the bible. God does not have sickness, suffering, or any other disease, coz He does not have it to give. He would have to change his nature to do so. Jehovah RAFFA - The God who heals you. If I, ( a father of 5 kids), did this to one of my kids, I would have Child Services at my door and placed undet arrest. And we attribute THIS to a God of love - seriously Joni???
I think you have been robbed by Satan, (the god of all sickness, disease and suffering of your life. John 10 :10. Jesus TOOK your sickness at the whipping post at Calvary. Isaiah 53:5. Once you opened your soul to the first lie, Satan found an open door and just kept giving you more sickness.
