Most would say Grapes of Wrath or On Golden Pond.
      Both difficult to argue against.
I say Rings On Her Fingers 1942.
He actually felt like a complete actor in this one.

Despite this wonderful film being made in 1939, it was a reflection of real-life back then and what would continue into the future as this still happens today. Thoroughly enjoyable and many thanks for posting.

Love, justice, injustice - all tied up in this one storyline. Excellent!
What struck me was the lighting and photographic angles. Very original.

Good story, more than that, a great film, and because of Henry Fonda.
Who wouldn't dream to have him as father, brother, friend, lover, husband, boss, or president of the United States. He was all a man desires to be and wants to cherish, love, admire... and he was beautiful too.
    😘❤😘❤😘❤
tHANK YOU; I didn't know this film.

Young Henry Fonda was so natural, such a good actor 🙆
He got famous lines, just like those in this movie, about justice and "the little people".
His lines were never só true in America 🤦

This is just 1 of many great movies with Henry Fonda. This movie is very similar to one he did many years later, although that one was a true story. I believe the name of the movie was, Mistaken Identity!??? In that movie he was a trumpet player, had a wife and some kids. When he was arrested his wife went into a mental hospital where she stayed for many years even after he was released from prison. If anyone knows the name of that movie please let me know and perhaps stream city will play it. Thanks steam city, I'm loving your content of movies. I've been obsessed with the movies of the golden age and love when they stay in black and white. It makes them seem more real! Please help me find that movie and I'm sure many of you will agree, there is no one movie that Henry Fonda was great in, he was great in all of them, just like his good friend, Jimmy Stuart was great in all his movie's!

Oddly(not the best description, not powerful enough); He makes a docudrama (the one you speak of) with a wife going into asylum... TRUE to HIS OWN life; His marriage with Frances Brokaw, "suffering from bi-polar disorder".. He drove her to an Asylum as well.

    • @shadowlouise

Jamie, According to Wikipedia THIS one was also based on a true story, and was intended to be a much bigger production. IDK if we can believe any of it, but if it were true, it is shameful. And this conversation might have been a much better one. Considering how many people have viewed this video, it is surprising to me that the comments are so trivial and meaningless. Maybe if Stream City had asked a more meaningful question, there would be a discussion related to the point of this film. The fact is, this injustice is STILL continuing in the US. Our so called justice system is a big mess, often grossly unfair and unequal, with innocent people convicted, and guilty people released to commit more crimes. The system itself encourages crime. And even with the knowledge that innocent people do get convicted, and sometimes are executed we do not abolish the death penalty.

Big Problems with the case...the actual crooks stole a Brand New Cab. And the witness clearly saw it. Since shots were fired and a safe was blown open, there were no tests for any kind of gunpowder or explosive residue. No search was conducted for the stolen brand new cab. The stolen cab would've been found along with evidence and fingerprints of the perpetrators. Henry and his friend didn't have any guns or the stolen money. His actual cab would've had traces /evidence of the crime.

Did you know... The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life throught Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 You and I broke the law and Jesus paid. God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Believe and repent, eternity is too long to be wrong.

The mental torture of being accused of a crime you did not commit or of being held hostage without knowing if you would be killed is surely beyond comprehension to those who have not experienced it.
