    The thermals are bad and also the quality of the fan.
    I am using the previous model and also an Latitude 5440.
    When comparing both the Latitude is a far better build. Better pastics, better fan, near silent and better thermals.

    @SoulOfTech is there any update/information on the fan noise?

    I have the 16 version of this laptop with the Ryzen 7 8840u, but I'm running Linux on it. It runs cool and quiet, the fans rarely kick in, and I'm getting around 8 hours of light/medium use on it. When I first purchased this laptop, I did go through the Windows setup, and I did notice the fans turning on (and staying on) quite a bit. This does not happen in Linux when doing light tasks (browsing, terminal, some RUclips etc...).

      Don’t buy the XPS 14, it is highly pixelated. You would prefer using it as a heater with a super tech function. It is CRAZILY priced for what it offers. I’d recommend the Spectre 14 X360 or the Yoga 9i 14 X360 equipped with the specs you prefer. These laptops pack a bigger punch for their prices.

    The 2023 model has front facing speakers and USB-C charger so that's a huge miss for this new model.

    Hey I´m struggling to decide between the newer Inspirion and the older model in terms of battery life. Maybe any advice?
    I know that both are using the I5 1335u, but the newer model has a 3 Cells battery instead of the older 4 Cells. A sales assistant from DELL told me that the older model had some problems with optimization, which i find it quite BS because they use the same processor. I also need to mention that the newer model has a 1TB SSD and 16 GB of memory DDR5 instead of the older model that has only 512GB SSD and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

    I tested the Inspiron 5445 with the basic display (which isn't as bad as 250 Nits sounds) and the low power AMD 8540U CPU thermal management has the same issue: at only 50°C CPU temperature (nearly idle) the fan already starts running with much too high RPMs and is very loud. There is no fan management software available - I thought that's an AMD model issue - but it seems that also the Intel models are affected. The fan noise just drives me crazy so sadly I had to return it. Seems that no one at Dell uses their own products an Dell is forgetting about the basics which would just be a BIOS-Update/Software/Driver to handle the fan behavior correctly...

    • @yassine6934

      Do you recommende this model ?

    • @gunta.
      @gunta. 3 месяца назад

      @@yassine6934 I highly recommend the Inspiron 5445 for web surfing and office work, but only in environments where the fan noise doesn't matter - the performance and build quality is very good. The matte display is also usable outside, but not for photo processing since it's business standard, but that's very good for your eyes when using it for hours.

  • @akin242002
    @akin242002 4 месяца назад

    Steady decline? It's been that way for the last 14 years with the Dell Inspiron line of laptops. Just avoid. People are better off with refurbished Latitude line laptops for casual use, or low end Alienware for gaming.

      @mmp64 Primarily, bad quality build on a large volume of Inspiron laptops. Nice specs, but they mean nothing if they break easily.

      @@LucienSabre Absolutely, but regarding Huawei, I wouldn't recommend it for security reasons.
      Instead of the XPS, I purchased the HP Envy 16, such a banger at only around 1300 dollars (I am talking about an amazing display, i7 13700H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, etc.) THE XPS IS A LOSER WITH A HIGHER PRICE LOL
