As a Dane, I find her awkward, but to be fair, the questions are something you would expect in local TV production, not in TV at a professional level. It's pure "fishing" for gossip without any direction. (At least not to me.).
A perfect example of a person who doesn't understand that an MP serves the country - she thinks it means she's above us mere mortals and that we have no right to demand answers from her.

Charlie Stayt does a great job here. He doesn’t go for utter contempt of Dorres as a person, but he pitches contempt for her immediate conduct of this interview perfectly. Bravo.

Dorries Johnson is acting very lofty in her loft. To agree to be interviewed and then be baffled why she’s being asked a plain question. She’d make an excellent press secretary for Putin or in North Korea.

I'll be honest I didn't know she existed before last week, everytime I have seen her she acts as if what the government is doing is none of our business. It's not as if she was asked about troop movements, and no one would believe if she answered that correctly anyway.
Very much how she behaved in the DCMS select committee meeting a few weeks ago.
She looks like someone on the cusp of having a breakdown and someone should go and talk to her to see if she's alright.

A very disturbing interview with a very disturbed female
As humiliating and cringe worthy our elected officials have been for our nation, particularly this past week, admittedly it has also been extremely entertaining.
I think it can be entertaining. I think there is probably something in human beings that gets drawn in. Probably why people also get invested in celebrities and reality shows too. The danger is that these people are responsible for things like pandemic responses, foreign affairs and protection of vulnerable groups in society. The poorer you are the less insulated you are from these buffoons actions.

The chancellor's 'response' to the current energy crisis on Thursday is testament to the distain and indifference that the government and media continue to show towards the most vulnerable in society. The trouble is they are so entangled in lies they can't answer a simple question. She could have said, 'yes, I've spoken to him', or that she hadn't spoken face to face, but by phone, or text, or email. All straightforward answers. Instead she gives this weird cryptic non response. If she has something to hide, she's gone the right way about making people highly suspicious.

@@sslaia Who knows...it was freakishly odd. Not everyone is a natural public speaker....but if you weren't a gifted speaker, you would prepare for the interview as far as possible. You might even take lessons. This is a woman who chose to be an MP....people elected her to speak on their behalf. I'd would be terrified is she was my MP.
expectations lead to aversion to what is presented. I actually didn't see any issue with her answer..... Just thought, fair enough, she's feeling defensive in that moment, and doesn't want to answer.... seemed perfectly normal to me.... I'm not really for thinking that public figures should be tortured or manipulated into answering anything in a way that is anything apart from what they naturally can present... That's all she had in that moment... fair enough..... why do people think it's ok to gang up and abuse someone for stepping outside of their expectations? Maybe you shouldn't expect anyone to meet your 'standards' for behaviour as if there should ever be some set of rules as to how someone should or should not speak in an interview.... Let her be herself... No issues here
