Here's a tip, start with long tube headers, exhaust, a good CAI and a more aggressive torque converter and finally quality tune. I think you'll be very satisfied with the results.
I'm not entirely sure about the torque converter since I plan on doing a manual swap. I might do that though if getting the parts to do the swap prove to take way too long or if they're near impossible to find. We'll see though
I bought a '98 also in that same color in October (I also live in Missouri), 55K miles on it. I wanted an automatic, don't really enjoy shifting gears. Didn't know at the time there was such a stigma against automatics, but I don't care. I'm not a good wrench turner, but just subscribed to follow your journey and maybe pick up some tips from you and the comments section. Lotta experts out there😋
Glad to see you here! I haven't been able to do really a whole lot with the car unfortunately. Plans never seem to work out 😂 however I do plan on doing a full detail job this coming year so hopefully that goes well 👍
C5's are awesome. Best bang for the buck. They have some quirks. One of them is that they are very sensitive to low voltage. Very important to keep your battery fully charged, if it's a car that sits alot. You might get the dreaded steering column lock failure, and or the pull key wait 10 sec failure in the driver information on the dash.
I'm actually in the process of replacing it haha. It's taking longer than expected because every single bolt seems to be stuck on but I'm getting there
The C5 vettes were probably the best generation EVER!!... THIS IS WHERE THEY COME TO LIFE HUGE!.. STILL TODAY WITH MODS WE CAN HANG WITH " ANYONE"💖🏆 I'm running 840 hp right now BUT SHES GETTING TURNED UP 1200HP BABY SOON!..🥳 best ET RUN SO FAR 10.10.01-140MPH!😎
It's not 00-04 (I wish it was as I own a 2000). The significant fixes and performance upgrades all happened in the 01-04 cars. Most notable is the ls6 intake and the improved ECBM module. That's why you can find good deals on the 97-00 Corvettes but not so much on 01-04's. I would NOT do an A4 to M6 swap. It's far too costly and labor intensive to be worth while. You are far better off doing one of two things. 1). Put a good 3500-4000 stall torque converter in your car and enjoy the fun a stalled auto offers. 2). Sell the automatic car and buy one with a manual.
Thanks for the insight! I definitely don't plan on selling this one anytime soon since it used to belong to the spouse of a family member lol. I can look at the upgraded torque converters but doing a manual swap is definitely something I've always wanted to do. I'm always open to exploring my options though in case it proves to be too much to gather all the parts
@@SuperSlipDiff short videos in my channel. Getting a white 1le Camaro soon. I will add some black wheels and satin black wrapping the hood soon. Need the Camaro and C5 to look alike.

the 6th speed a must plus a Cam Header's SLP full exhaust
I definitely plan on manual swapping mine, maybe not now but it's something I want to do down the road

It's an absolute bargain imo. And thankfully I haven't had to deal with those issues yet. But only time will tell lol
Great buy! Love that speedway white. Welcome to Missouri, I'm in KC.
Thank you very much! I'm on the other side of MO, a couple hours away from St. Louis lol
Love my 1999 C5!
They're great cars for sure!
Prepare for the quirks of the 97-00 c5 lol. Sharp lookin Vette brother
Thanks! I'm already having to deal with one of those quirks lol. I'll be making a video on it soon
I have a 2000 triple black 6 spd convertible. Love it. Make sure you look at harmonic balancer

@@SuperSlipDiff Not private, i don't know how to do that or even how to send the video to you?......it's on my phone.
I own a '08, Z51 C6, but, I still find C5's very attractive. I'll probably pick one up this year.
That's awesome! I think both the c5 and c6's are incredibly attractive. Just everything about them is just pleasing to look at imo
I have a 1991 Arctic White Corvette with 6spd. Nice car!
Thanks! 🙏🤘 Arctic White is a good color on corvettes imo
beautiful vette, looks great
Thanks man I appreciate it!
Sell me your side moldings! Lol
Lol how much you want for them? 😂

You’re going to spend 7k to manual swap it 😂 should’ve just spent the extra cash and get a newer one with a manual
Meh, I'll probably install a stall converter first. Manual swapping is something on my bucket list so it's gonna get done regardless lol
It looks like my C5. But my C5 is an 03.
Nice! Do you have any videos of it that I can check out?

You can fix that crack with a band-aid. That is what all the shitbox Honda owners do, so there must be something good about it.
I'm gonna get some flex seal probably lol
First lol teehee
