- (September 2, 2002) - Clip from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels Dedication Mass in Los Angeles, CA. Taken from the DVD, available via the Cathedral gift shop.
Vibiana is a third-century virgin martyr of the Roman Catholic Church. She is the patroness of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Her liturgical feast day is September 1.
The remains of Vibiana were rediscovered on December 9, 1853 in ancient catacombs near the Appian Way. A marble tablet adorned her tomb upon which was inscribed "to the soul of the innocent and pure Vibiana", above a laurel wreath. A wreath was a symbol of martyrdom among ancient Christians.[1]
Since 2002, the relics of Vibiana have been housed in the mausoleum of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The former Cathedral of Saint Vibiana in Los Angeles, California was dedicated to her.

We had one deposited in our alter today the 29th of January 2022 at holy spirit Catholic Church, onireke. The relics of St Catherine of Siena was what was deposited.
It's an altar relic. It's supposed to be in the altar, not in the floor.
The altar extends past the floor you see, so in reality, it is in the altar.
I dont think it has to be actually in the altar (though it can be). The Ceremonial of Bishops says that its supposed to be placed beneath the table(top) of the altar, which is the case in this cathedral
St Peter is buried beneath the altar in St Peter’s Basicilia, not the altar itself.
@@angelafoster5071 yeah the problem is St. Peter DIED there so it makes sense. This is different, putting the relic on the ground is quite bizarre. It works in the sense but one has to stretch the rules

Relics have a class denomination as in first second or third class.

God is Holy. When you are on Holy ground, or interact with holiness, you are so moved, and changed by it. You are in awe and feel something outer worldly has passed by or stopped you in you tracks. You weep or think about it for long afterwards wondering what it meant.
Nonsense: That’s not an altar, that’s a table. Assuming it was the altar, the relics are not placed on the ground, at the base, but on the upper surface, in the altar, where the Holy Sacrifice of Calvary, that is, the Mass, will be celebrated.
Um...you have your theology wrong. It's supposed to be the Last Supper where Jesus instituted the Eucharist. "Do this in memory of Me," not "Crucify Him."

Yes.And to be cathedral,one need to have a piece or body of dead saint.

My day commenced at 4:00 am
I am making use of wardrobe of long dresses for this Lenten season
Thanks to the budget clothing stores in this are, these dresses are are affordable. And Thanks to Mr. Saab, I have acquired matching or coordinates of comfortable tennis shoes for walking. And, thankfully a metro tap card which makes the public buses and trains accessible.
Getting out of this apartment building is sometimes rather complex because of the chauvinistic feelings and attitudes of some members of this community.
I took the stairs today trying to avoid the elevator chauvinists, only to encounter chauvinistic interlopers in the stairways as well.
I calmed my nerves by deep breathing exercises, and changing or singing.

So, I managed to get liberated from this extremely chauvinistic environment in my apartment building this morning.
My first appointment was at the bank.
Acquired cash to send certified mail to the Clark County District Attorney, Regional Justice Center, 200 Lewis Street, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101.
Leaving the bank, I walked directly to the B Dash to get to the Post office on Alameda. I got off of the bus, and walked a short distance towards the post office a young man was waiting on the sidewalk to ask for money. I continued walking, shook my head, negative. This was probably a set up by Homeland Security or some other agency using me as bait.
I want them to stop using me and my children and my grand children as bait for predators. I object. I protest. They've willfully and wontonly committed thid bigoted, prejudicial act of encroachment and infringement repeatedly. They are recalcitrant offenders of my sensibilities.
I have much better used for people than thinking as "horizontal" all the time. There is something wrong with you folks, if you have to have people horizontal all the time. Warped, sicko agents.
I walked to the Post office. I transacted my business. Sent the documents by priority mail. I had several other errands to run.
I stopped at the convenience store in Union Station. Bag of Fritos.
Caught the Red Line train to Alvarado. Got off and walked to Home Depot. I bought a can of Raid, a sports drinks and a Reese's candy bar.
Left there and went to catch the bus 18. It was too crowded for me to ride so I walked further to catch the Rapid. 720.
I arrived back at the apartment building.
Waited for the elevator. Came my apartment and reorganized and rested and refreshed myself for a few minutes. And returned to the work.
I needed to return the flash drive that I purchased at Staples Office Supplies yesterday. I didn't work on either the law library computer or on my own home computer.
I caught the F Dash. And returned the flash drive and got a refund. I had wisely saved the receipt.
Which reminds me, that I called Vroman's in Pasadena, CA this morning to cancel the special order, and it was agreed that I could use the money for something else in exchange.
After leaving Staples. I caught the 910 Silver Streak and got a tremendously pleasant surprise. It took me all the way to the El Monte station at Union Station. And there are stairs that go directly to the platform where the buses are. I had never even noticed this new construction before today. I will use this more efficient route to get to Pasadena tomorrow.
Since I was on the platform, I decided to stop by, and drop in on the Sheriff's Department front desk. Deputy R. Was there. And we started to have a conversation. Shortly thereafter, chauvinists began to usurp.
I sat there and spontaneously decided to listen to You Tube
"Mansions of the Lord" as a resistance to the chauvinistic attempt at domination and Control of my autonomy, and my free exercise clause privileges, and to resist their attempt at imposing their services on me against my will. I resisted their attempts at suppression, and unwanted co dependency, and facilitating. I have zero drug addiction issues. It's was a gross misrepresentation, and misappropriation of my purposes for being at the Sheriff's Department front desk I wasn't there for their convenience. I was not there to be "utilized" by their agents . I wasn't interested in their issues. We are nothing alike. Not even remotely. We are not even on the same wave length, nor in the same mission. I reject their malicious agenda. No thank. That's not mine. The agents are seeking, it seems, to induct me by default as in of their operatives, and they wish to presume to be my handlers, pimps, and panderers, and procurers in some kind of depraved vice ring.
I have much better things to do with my time. I am already booked up. I don't need a job. And why would I want to work for the enemies of my soul anyhow.
These agents are same intriguers who seek to influence me in the law library. These agents are seeking to induct me into the conspiracy, but I am determined to abolish the Conspiracy. Oil and water doesn't mix. I don't like false witnesses I don't like perjury. I don't like "doctored" evidence, and "doctored reports." I don't like "doctored test results". These agents are assassins. These agents are character assassins, and assassins of people who were alive before the agents assassinated them. This is forbidden
No way. No Compromise. No way. This forbidden and they knew it.
I can't participate in that. It is forbidden.

It's for our cstholic churches to look like catholic that's what set as aside the other Christian churches I don't pray to statues yet there beautiful I our churches

@@therockstandard3068 we dont see this the same way. I see those distorted statues and unsymetrical building as ugly because it follows the opposite of Catholic teaching. We shape our churches, then our churches shape us. A book by Michael Rose explains it in detail, Ugly as Sin. You are welcome to see it however you like, but for me it is ugly as sin.

This Church looks very Anglican. I also see an Episcopal Priest seated on the side of the Altar.
That isn't an Episcopal priest. That's the Papal Knight, Sir Daniel Donohoe, in his ceremonial robe. He was the person who donated the seed money for the new cathedral. Also, considering that Anglican architecture is from Catholics, I'll take that as a compliment.
The priest I am talking about is seated upwards in a black suit and full round collar. Also Anglican Orders are Null and Invalid.
Okay. When a large event such as the completion of a Catholic cathedral takes place, it is normal to invite civic leaders as well as leaders from other faiths that the Archdiocese has had some working relationship. Not only an Episcopal priest, but Buddhists, the Orthodox, and even Muslims. It's nice to see them in attendance at Episcopal (Bishop) Ordinations as well as the yearly Requiem for the Unborn. The cathedral isn't just a private house of worship. It also has a public role as part of the city. For example, when firefighters or police die in the line of duty, many with have their funeral or memorial services in the cathedral.
Anglican Orders are Null and Invalid. I don't see any Statues also. Very plane and Anglican looking.
The statues are in the ambulatories. This cathedral has the famous tapestries of the Communion of Saints by John Nava. Have you been to any Franciscan or Benedictine monasteries? The interiors of their chapels look similar.
The relic certainly doesn't have any magic powers. It may remind people of St. Vibiana, but other than that, it has no power.
