I started with your workouts a little over a month ago for back strength, I did complete beginner yoga for over a week then moved up to beginner for 2 weeks and started 45 min Pilates over a week ago, I am 41 and out of shape, I was surprised to find I never hurt the next day which I really expected especially when I made the jump to pilates, in only 1 month I have never missed a day I have my figure back and am considerably stronger and the most flexible I have ever been, I am so very grateful

That's wonderful to hear!! Pilates never 'hurts', it 'elevates'. That may sound corny to someone who has never practiced Pilates but those of us that are fortunate enough to do so know exactly what that means :)

It's important for me to remember that just because I can do something it does not mean that it is doing me any good, and I may be missing something by rushing too fast and going right by the real beneficial part.

Hi Sean, after 2 slipped discs and a temporary paralysis in the back of an ambulance I decided to sort out my Core! I've been unable to reach past my knees for over a year. Then I spent 3 weeks on this routine, 4 times a week and I can touch my toes, gently jog with no pain and most importantly I can get on the training pitch with the youth football team I coach. This has been mind boggling for me and you always entertain!

Hello Sean, thank you for posting this video. I stopped doing pilates for 1.5 years with all the silly excuses of being busy etc. When I returned to pilates with your video I found myself very stiff. I know that it is very beneficial for my back pain but getting started it a struggle. It is a great video for muscle toning and stretching. A big thank you, and God Bless you for spreading the good. I am going to share this with other friends who are suffering from back pain.

This is a great Pilates routine...so much better than the current instructor at my gym!!! I think I'll stay home and do this a few times a week instead!

Still my favorite workout. 3 years and going. I can't thank Sean enough for how of a difference this makes in your life. As a landscaper, stage hand, and bicyclist. I beat my body up a little bit. Making the investment in doing stretching and Pilates makes all the difference. Of course the chiropractor, healthier eating choices, and the occasional message help too. Enjoy!
I try to do this morning and evening and it heals my bad back thank you life gets so much better

I just wanted to send you a quick comment, thanking you for your content. 6 months ago, I set out on a wellness/fitness endeavor. On the day I began, this was the first Pilates RUclips video I ever saw or followed along with, and it kept me wanting more.
In the year or 2 prior to this, my change in career and lifestyle had led to me becoming very sedentary and to gain more weight than I ever had previously (even during my pregnancies!). I was feeling unfit, unwell, and very out of shape. Besides the weight gain, I had begun to have more serious side effects from my lifestyle/diet. I often woke up during the night to my arms being asleep and even felt fuzzy mentally. I decided that I needed a change. I began with the goal that I would complete an hour of Pilates exercises everyday and that I would begun to eat healthier. I did want to lose weight, but mainly I just wanted to feel better and healthier all-around. I wanted to make sure that I would not only be there for my children as they grew up, but that I wanted to keep up with them too!
After looking around online for follow-along Pilates classes, I found that there were not a ton of free resources in this department. Luckily, I found you on RUclips, and I find myself returning regularly for Pilates routines/workouts. 6 months after I began, I am happy to say that I've lost 35 lbs, and feel so much better, healthier, and stronger! I am still working on it, and plan to continue to use your channel and workouts.
Thank you so much for your channel and the time that you put into it. During this challenging time, it would have been very difficult to find an in-person class, and as a mother of young children, finding the time and money to attend one may have been impossible. I just wanted to send you a few words of encouragement and thanks for providing these free resources and videos.
I especially enjoyed the Joseph Pilates Original 34 exercises video! Finding a follow-along that includes that information was virtually impossible, pun intended:).

I've been looking for some time for a good flexibility/strength/weight loss routine for some time now and I've always heard that Pilates was a great work out. However, I was kinda turned off from the untrue stigma that it's for women only. But upon researching I found out otherwise. I've finished my first session with this and I gotta say I feel better than I have in a long time. I can already feel the flexibility coming back to me. I'm definitely coming back for more. Thanks!
I used to weight lift and due to severe back pain (scoliosis and disc herniation) I had to stop (was hospitalized for a while too) for a few months I couldn't exercise at all, I lost weight.. now I'm starting to recover and your workout really REALLY helps, thnx

Just did this workout! Really nice blend of ballet type exrcises mixed with aerobic exercises! Brilliant. x
One of my favorites as it is all inclusive, so if I don't feel like spending time on my ski machine I can just do this.

I have been doing this for a few weeks now, five times a week. I have never liked workouts, but this is really enjoyable. Each time I reach the end it seems that only twenty minutes or so has passed. Wish I had found this earlier!
Hey...look what I found...very serendipitous!!! I do believe that I was discussing the tight back muscles of the "million push-ups" I have been dealing with and you recommended your stretch class ...which I did...which I loved...and which really worked! Well today I was all set to do your fat flames burning (:P wrong order there...sorry) fabulous class...when I realized I am tight again. I surfed around your vault and I found this little jewel. OMgoodness...the whole class was outstanding...but the core section...with the 5 continuous moves!!!...heaven. I feel amazing and am ready for another on-slaught of grand-children who want some on that GMa lovin'! Thank you Sean...as always...your fine instruction, your lovely demeanor, and your most excellent sense of humor...really hit the spot. Hey! A rule that I follow is alternating core and yoga workouts every other day. For instance: Monday would be a core workout and Tuesday Yoga and so on. Have you done my 20 min Core Killer? Type in Core Workouk in the RUclips search and it's right on top. Enjoy!

The quickest explanation is Pilates is a series of movement based exercises that work your body from the Core out, and Yoga is a series of postures/poses that focus on flexibility and strength. It also depends on the type of Yoga you're doing i.e. relaxation, power, beginner etc. Does this help?
I did this workout once a week for years. When the pandemic lockdown started I switched to the 5-day pilates challenge and did that every week (although I skipped day 5 a lot...it always kicked my butt). Now i'm going through the 30-day challenge for variety. In place of Day 9 I found my old friend, the OG. I am stronger now than I used to be at it. But no more flexible unfch 😐Anyway, thanks for bringing variety, enthusiasm, and levity to my living room workout studio.

Thanks for your comment! The shaking is just your legs getting more flexible, I see it all the time in my classes. Once your hip flexors and hamstrings loosen up and your core gets stronger it will all come together beautifully :)

hi sean just wanted to say thank you I have been doing this vid. from time to time since last march. I am a middle aged landscaper and stage hand and I have a lot of neck and shoulder tension. So after a long hard season this fall I was feeling really stiff and sore after a trip to my chiropractor I came home a decided that I need to step up my game and so after three weeks of doing this vid. three times a week I am feeling soooo much better. Amazing what doing stretching does for your body and soul
