    Great video for the ones that like to know what gear your using even down to the small items that don't normally come up in conversation whilst out camping. I found it very interesting.

    Tony I do like these unpacking vids. Have you decided on what you will not be taking on your next winter hike and what needs to be added? Also what was your total pack weight for the hike including food and water? I would guess pretty close to 40 lbs. Enjoy your Christmas and looking forward to the next video.

      Yes this was very close to what I'll take to Scotland with Chris early next year in snow. Snow shoes will be added and stove swapped probably and light crampons probably swapped for the spikes. That will be discussed with the boss lol as you will see in my upcoming glove video gloves will be altered and or added. Likely swap pack for HMG Windrider 70 you'll see in next camp but this Gregory is good and is a contender for sure! Other than that very similar. My question answer videos over Christmas will be of interest I think. Yes the first part was close to 19kg with 3plus L of water plus three days food. I obviously used two days. It was heavy! Tbh a bit too much for me lol I'd manage but yeah the back and shoulders were in pain first night. So care will be needed weight wise. In Scotland I'll add bits as above but will melt snow for sure I'd imagine so save what lose .... I find my MLD Exodus fine at 14kg so probably 14-15kg is OK once it climbs to 18 odd ...... thanks great to hear you enjoyed this we can explore more in future different trips 😀

    Hi Tony. A nice, geeky video - similair to another comment below, I do like the gear load outs. Was it my imagination or did you have a lot of gloves/mittens!!?? I also have the Paragon 58 and I think it's a great pack that carries a load well. Regards, Wadi.

      Yes it is a fab pack, yup loads of gloves expected cold wet snow so was prepared to sacrifice some and have spare. Thank you for taking time to watch and comment

    I always tend to take some kit I’ll end up not using, better to have it and not need it…as they say, I’m not a fan of the unpacking , much prefer the packing bit🤣, spot on Tony, good bits of gear there is that the poly Duomid XL? atb Mick 👍

    • @TonyHobbs
      @TonyHobbs  8 месяцев назад +1

      No this is the nylon one, I think poly in this would be good probably less sag from large back panel. Yeah all that putting away or putting somewhere...

    How do you keep your steak fresh ? Would you recommend garlic butter as a base ingredient in which to fry your steak? Also do you carry much water with you ?Do you ever make a camp in woods/forest area and pertinent to this question are you not afraid in the woods that some strange creature might creep up on your tent ?

      @TonyHobbs  8 месяцев назад

      It's winter so easy it's cold I'd not bother mid summer I bung oil and herbs in... we cook a steak in next camp so you'll probably learn nothing as I'm a master steak messeruper...
