Hi Tony, I'm the guy who just joined the journey with you... LOL. I'll go back and check the rest, well done. Looks familiar to my adventures across the moors. I use various shelters, but for long trips I grab the DCF Altaplex from Zpacks. From a noise point of view, if it's setup badly it can make a racket, but if taught no more noise than a sil-nylon. If you want real peace I'd suggest old skool canvas or polycotton... Stay safe, stay wild man...
Thinking of noisy shelters, my Akto’s flapping once got so loud that I apologised to the person camping nearby but, for me, the record is held by the drum-tight silnylon of the TNF Tadpole which I used for 8 years. Rain sounded like dry peas hitting a drum. I had never thought of my DCF Duomid as being a noisy shelter and, in comparison, it isn’t. Do you do exercise other than walking? I’ve never pulled a pulk but that looks like a whole body exercise so, if you’re not already doing a few basic strength exercises, they might be worth incorporating for injury avoidance. I’m not young but body weight lifting has kept me pleasingly mobile.
What is body weight lifting or simply weight lifting Not really mainly walking But now lassie less mobile I walking pushing her in a stroller so pushing a pram uphill locally with 20kg in it must help a bit. My first trip I'd realistically not go far anyway so see how it all goes. But you're correct I probably should do more it's getting around to it remembereming thinking and actually doing.... I never understood the crying I hear of DCF being more noisy usually from people who never used dcf 😆
@@TonyHobbs Press ups, pull ups, squats and lunges would be basic examples of lifting one’s one body but it can get a lot more complicated than that for maintaining interest and for getting the whole body to work. I like it because I haven’t had to buy anything other than an app on my phone. It works but old fashioned versions of weight lifting might achieve the same things faster. Things like mantleshelf movements on to ledges have become much easier than they used to be. I started when my back went. The doctor said, get used to it because it’s an age thing but I haven’t had to because the back trouble has gone.
Hi Tony Loving the tarp Just the price puts me off $285 for the nylon one, where a DD super light is £70 but my it looks good, I would not pay the dcf extra cost Just love a tarp and bivy Cheers
On a flat tarp dcf is nice very very sweet I do not recommend dcf on trailstar Nylon or now poly trailstar is really really nice it gives more cover protection than flat tarp

Tarp people are crazy I couldn’t even do a night in my backyard let alone in the wild.
Haha its really the best way fully protected lightweight and a view. Thanks for watching and being a subscriber, hopefully you enjoy more vids
What's to be afraid of? Nothing other than other human beings can kill you in the UK 😆.
Love rain and camping. Bit weird for some people I guess. Each to their own. For me it's the most relaxing time listening to rain.
There's the bogey man out there plus his hounds of hell 😆
Yup rain in camp is fine and relaxing until so heavy I can't hear my movie lol
