DEALING WITH BEING AN UNMARRIED MUSLIMAH

  • Asalamua'alaikm all, this is a topic close to heart that I wanted to share with those of you still in search of your ''better half'' and are finding the wait difficult.
I also share how I've managed to get to the point where by the permission of Allah, I am content with what I have in my life outside of marriage and hopeful that the right person will come. It hasn't been an easy journey but, Allah has proven to me, many times that whenever I put my trust in him, he never lets me down and that is what ultimately keeps me going, so I hope this benefits you all in your journeys too.
Hope you enjoy the tips and put them into practise inshallah.
We all know the value and importance of marriage in islam so approach the issue with a level head knowing that Allah will always give us what is best at his timing, not ours.
    Stay blessed xxx

As'salamu alaykum. I didn't get married until I was 44, yes 44! I actually enjoyed my single years, and I now enjoy my married life. The difficult part was other people constantly asking: "Are your married?", "Do you have any children?" Allah connected my Husband and I at the right time, and every thing that I experienced before him prepared me for my marriage. I now have a wonderful Husband, and two wonderful stepsons. We plan, Allah plans, and Allah is the best of planners. Make dua if your looking for a Husband but also live your life, continue to grow and become a better Muslim, Sister, Daughter , friend, employee, neighbor etc, etc. Enjoy life and count your Blessings. May Allah bless anyone who wants to get married and may Allah make it easy for you, Ameen.

@@lisal440 The reality is that there is no perfect marriage out there and there will be times when you feel it doesn't serve you but with working on it and the help of Allah so long as both parties are willing, it turns to a beautiful marriage. As Muslims, our first options should always be how to support the couple in having a great marriage, not jumping to distroying the marriage. Divorce is one of the most hated halal things to Allah, however he made it pernissable for those times when it becomes toxic so it is for the individual to decide what they can and can not cope with. It should not be a thing that I will ever as a coach tell people to jump straight into because they are currently unhappy if there is something that can be done to improve it then that is the first priority!

Ameen. I am recovering from a surgery and the last time I met up with an older friend, she prayed for me that I will get better and get married. I always fear that what if by the time I get married, I won't be able to have children. So I replied to her, 'I'd rather remain chaste and get married in the akhira'. Getting married is like a gamble and really and truly my main intention to get married is to complete half my faith and bring up children that will serve Allah. I pray to Allah to increase us all in sabr, eemaan and guidance to do what is good for us, ameen.

That's one way of behaving. I feel we also need to be realistic about trauma in individuals when they're living difficult lives. As I go to therapy, I've learned from a trained professional that it's okay to feel all these emotions as long as we acknowledge them and hopefully at some point we will heal and then organically not feel the same way. Peace is so elusive sometimes, but when we feel it in our hearts, hopefully we'll focus on earning money and making friends, and having opportunities - because that's equally important and not all humans know how to make money either!!

This is exactly what I am convinced of, changing ones mindset and focus. Re-evaluating the topic and reassessing the situation. Really, everyone should do this no matter how long they are/were single, bcs it changes the position of marriage to a healthier one. And, education. That's a bigy! Educating and training oneself to develop the right mindset.

It’s easy to clap 👏 for ya and say “yeah you’re right enjoy your life and stay single...” but deep down we all know that business ,money or anything else do not equate being blessed with offspring. One may stay single coz of certain circumstances whatever it is ,but one should not choose to stay single and to abstain from having his/her own family. It’s a blessing that we all need to ask for and of course there’re difficulties that come with it , as any other blessing we may have .

In 2020, i turned 30 as unmarried. I was so stressed, depressed and disparate from year 2017 to 2019 that, i forced myself into unhealthy relationships. As my parents were busy with stuffs they didn't find my future spouse. I was upset that everyone around me was getting married. Now if i recall, this wasn’t the best way to get rid of deaspiration. Pray. Just pray. Maybe something better than marriage is waiting for you. In after life. For eternity. Anything is worth of sacrifice for abundance of happiness in afterlife. Only when i think about it, my heart gets lighter and at peace. So sister, dont be sad. Tests are hard. But the harder the test, the greater is the reward.

I feel like in the last 3-4 years being single has become more uncomfortable for me. I totally see why I wasn’t ready to get married then but at each stage we think we are ready. I am 25 now and I would love to be married but is HAS TO be to the right person.
I admire women who can confidently say that they are 100% content and they don’t need to be married and it happens when it happens. I feel like I lost that kind of attitude about 3 years ago and it went more into a „ok I‘d really rather be married now“ kind of emotion. What I think is interesting though is that when I say that I can almost already hear people saying to me „go learn how to be happy with yourself first“ and so on and so on. But I feel like I learned about myself that that is not the problem. I AM content with myself and my life. Yes there is ALWAYS something to improve and work on ALWAYS. But that’s not the point. I don’t (!) feel the need to want to be married because I am unhappy and I feel like marriage is going to make me happy. I want to be married because it’s a basic human need to want companionship and intimate relationships for that matter. I feel like whenever someone states that they really wanna get married they almost get pushed into the „desperate“ category and are advised to go fix themselves first because OBVIOUSLY if everything was fine with you, you wouldn’t so desperately want to get married. But that’s not true. It’s ok to wanna be married. It’s a basic human need that is not being met and it normal to feel like a little something is missing. Even just a little bit. It’s like being on a low calorie diet for years and years. Your just gonna Start missing getting your meets fully met and that’s ok and normal and doesn’t mean you’re not happy with yourself and need fixing. Sorry that ended up being quite long 🙈

We are five sisters and four of us got married young whilst our youngest sister who is in her mid 20s is still not married. We are all jealous of her for being free to do what she likes, she has a good career and so full of life whereas we are busy meeting the demands of our children and husbands and in laws so this makes us angry sometimes. Watching your video makes me feel embarrassed for having bad feeling towards my younger sister. It is so true. Many of us miss out on life and opportunities because we are waiting around to get married. They say that you can't love some one else if you don't love yourself so for that reason we should focus on ourselves and love ourselves. Self love is equally important as is correcting our mental and emotional side. Time is precious so we should use it wisely! Keep living and enjoying life.

Jazakillahu khair sis for making this video! I didn't know how much I needed to hear this until I watched this. May Allah (SWT) reward you for making this and May Allah grant us all spouses that He is pleased with. May Allah also bless the girls who are already married. Ladies, you shouldn't feel apologetic about being unmarried because Allah has Willed it this way. Instead, focus on pleasing Allah through other forms of worship until He blesses you with a spouse. If Allah doesn't grant you an amazing spouse in this Dunya then Allah will definitely grant you an amazing spouse in the Jannatul Firdows.

Wcs warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu sis, Jazaka'Allahu kheyran Jazaa for this beneficial video. The struggle is real but may Allah grant us all with righteous spouses. At the end of the day we haven't been created to worry about spouses but we're created to worship solely Allah. Also, everything is written down and Allah knows what is the best for us, if we're meant to be married then we'll be married by the will of Allah if not nothing we can do. One thing that helps me is to do daily adkaar and I try to be a better Muslimah and Alhamdulillah I feel so calm and content with my singleness. May Allah grant us all with the happiness that we're all yearning for and may He grant us all with Janatul Al-firdous as that is the ultimate goal. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤❤😊😊😘😍😘🌺🥀🌹🌹

Imagine being in your mid 20s try to find your feet, trying to discover yourself and some people from the outside are pressuring you and asking you this stupid question of when you are getting married. When that marriage happens it will be only you and your spouse. Don't allow anybody from the outside pressure you. Make that desicion when you feel you are ready.

Mashallah may Allah continue protect your heart from jealousy. I unfortunately do feel jealousy and I’m trying to control it. Whenever I do feel jealous of my friends I ask Allah to forgive and I pray from them. May Allah remove this toxic trait from my heart and Inshallah Allah blesses me with a good marriage as well.

I’m so tired of my relatives asking me to hurry up and find a man because I’m turning 26 this year. I don’t feel ready, but at the same time when my mother says that there is somebody who wants to ask for my hand without even knowing me I get super stressed and say no. It’s a dilemma because if I say no all the time then people call me picky, but i dont want to go out with different men all the time when I already know that I’m gonna say no to them.
I do as many people care about men’s appearance, but at the same time their character. But when I tell my mom that I don’t like the guy on the picture because I know that I won’t like him then I become super picky in other peoples eyes. I’m not trying to be picky, but I do want a certain type of man who looks good and also have a great character. I feel 98% of the time that I’m gonna end with somebody that I won’t like just because of how he looks.( I know that thought is bad, but for me looks is also important for me if I want to feel attracted to my potential future husband.)
What do you guys think about what I just wrote?

I feel you girl! Been there, done that. I’m 26 too. I would say try to be a bit more open minded and consider someone who maybe isn’t completely your type but may still have some potential. But ultimately, it’s up to you. :) Always pray istikhara and seek God’s guidance along the way.
