The Dark Lizardon X that's probably a lie considering it wouldn't be copying because it was done 20 years before DBZ did it. I think it was probably just Iizuka not letting them.
The Dark Lizardon X No, they just don't want to make the old forms useless in an endless powercreep like DB. In my opinion Hyper is OK because that's only 2 forms and it maintains Super Sonic's usefullness since Hyper is much harder to achieve.

In fact, it took me a while to discover why Hyper Sonic didn't get reused in other games. I agree with wanting to see a Sonic Racing game without cars. It would be great. Imagine they have different stats like Sonic has 8/10 run and give him the drop dash where as Tails has maybe like 5/10 but can fly up to areas and maybe it could be a small short cut. Same for Knuckles but maybe have Knuckles to have a speed of 6/10 but let him break through walls. Then have Shadow like Shadow but maybe a 9/10 but maybe add a Chaos ability likes in the Shadow The Hedgehog game where he turns blue. Then Metal Sonic with 10/10 speed but not get too op moves. But yea. I would love a foot racing game. It would be awesome.

They could just make sonic not flashy and just a really shiny, glowy, something or other, silver color. That and maybe also his shading could slowly pulse between those colors he had. Also less flashing and blah.
I know how to play as 2 Sonics (Needed dev menu and no buyed encore mode) Need to go in no save file as tails or knuckles then in dev menu go to cutscenes then go to angel island then do rescue mighty and ray But if you don't have encore mode then 2 Sonics will be rescued and then as tails or knuckles go to end of angel island AND boom! You play as 2 Sonics!
