I have a hard time believing the next gen Lexus IS will be all electric. I'm not an electric car hater but let's be realistic. There is still way more demand for gas powered vehicles
Ill be switching platforms if they move to an all electric or move away from the na V8. There are still some of us who will always choose to not be a leaf licker. We few will always love the power and sound of our na V8.. =)
I don't see the electric version by 2026. They might be working on one, but what I see is that 3.4 liter twin turbo like the LS but with more hp for their top performance offering. Considering how soft the EV market has become, I don't think Lexus or any other brand for that matter will be in a big hurry to dump their gas cars. As for the IS350 replacement, probably a 300 or so hp turbo 4 to take place of the V6, which is sad as well. I just bought a '24 IS 350 and at my age will probably be my last car. I love that V8, but it was out of my budget.
I got myself an 2023 IS 500 in Ultra White and its a Baller. The 2UR GSE is full of character and fun. Experience it once in your life if you never owned a JDM V8. This is the last 2024 MY for this Engine. RC F will be retired and LC will be replaced. Get it while you can.
The IS500 really needs some more stand out design against the IS350. Its hard to tell them apart unless you can see the exhaust tips. I would have appreciated some more aggressive styling on the 500
a lot of the former car theives in my neighborhood complain about that too. harder to figure out which ones to take for a joyride. esp since they don't read well.
This car doesn’t even look 10 years old on the outside and even though it’s on its 11th model year it’s still the 3rd best selling in its class so the refresh really helped the IS and you should cover the Infiniti Vision Qe concept that debuts on the 24th possibly at the Japan Mobility Show
We just picked up our UX250h and the boy problem with it is that it wasn’t in our garage sooner. What a vehicle! Looking forward to the new IS coming out, we will be getting a second Lexus so this looks like number one on our list.
I have a 2008 IS250 and it’s essentially identical to this under the hood just with a smaller displacement V6. This car is beautiful but it’s interior is showing it’s age.
Just bought a IS350 F-Sport Electric Blue (I think that's what it's called). I was going to get a 500 but life events had me make some compromises on cost lol. So I kept my tuned BMW 435 Msport and bought the IS350. The IS350 isn't as fast but I really enjoy it. It's super comfy and looks insanely amazing.
What I really don’t get is how all the new chassis IS models in Japan have power folding mirrors, but here in the States, it’s absent. I can see it even has a blank switch where it would be on my IS500 and it bums me out. Hopefully it can be installed as an aftermarket kit or as a dealer option in the future.
I test drove an RCF this week - I wanted to love it, because I was thinking I would buy a used one in a couple of years and keep it forever. But I didn't, and I understand why they aren't selling. It felt ponderous, and pretty disconnected. Now, my regular car is a Giulia so the bar is high for handling and driver engagement, but at 100k CAD, the RCF is sitting in a segment that offer much better performance but more importantly driving feel. And if you're ok with more of a muscle car style of drive, there are far cheaper options. At its price, people who would actually want to drive can't afford it, and the people who can afford it are driving German cars.
I love the IS exterior. I could care less of its performance faults because it’s such a looker. I just wish the interior was updated. Get rid of the trackpad!
Only reason I like their interior is because I retrofitted it almost all of it to my 2018 IS😂 but that also shows it's age if you can bring their parts to the older model IS 😅 so I can enjoy their interior in my Is without having to drop more $ unless I wanted the V8 and updated body styling!

I accidentally bought an is350 f sport, ultra white, with the black out package, it caught my eye when walking into the dealer, but I didn’t know it was fully loaded until now 😅, love it!
I have memory seat in my 2018 Lexus IS! I think it must have been a luxury package but didn't know how rare that was in the IS line up when I have friends sit in my car!😅 As for the power folding it can be retrofitted if Owners really want too!

Now for the 2024 they are offering the Incognito for all the IS which I feel it makes the LE not as special. Also, that Vector blue is not my cup of tea. I wish they would've done a more unique color. That type of blue you see in Toyota, Chevy, and Ford.

Hopefully next iterations brings a nice refresh, BBK, LED Rear turn signals, Power Folding mirrors on all models (EU/US/JP) and Updated interior styling and updated chasis and begone with the XE30/ASE30. Only reason i like it i can take thier parts and put it on my car without having to dish out $70k for the car!

There were a handful of Base Model IS500s produced, but they're basically non-existent. 2022 had zero Base Models that I could find of the 931 produced, 2023 had maybe a dozen that I could find. Most of the Base IS500s are in Hawaii since Servco Lexus of HI are the only dealer in the country who can direct custom order a car from the manfucturer in Japan, and that's the only real way to get a base model.

Too bad they don't sell this in Europe, I would have definitely would have bought one. Only other sedan in this class I'd consider right now is an Alfa Giulia, I'll probably get one of those instead but the IS would have been top priority if it were available in Europe.

I have a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport that I bought in 2020 with 41k miles for $31k & it's been an incredible car especially for the price I paid & not planning on getting rid of it anytime soon!

AWD is 6-speed, while RWD is 8-speed. While it’s true that M340i might beat IS in power and gas mileage, but if you own a Lexus, you will visit your dealer only twice per year. For maintenance, not repairs.

You can retrofit it if you know how to read the diagram and I have seen it done from all IS 2014-2020, 2021 shares similar wire diagrams!
IS looks good for its age. In fact it looks good, period!
The front section is from the GS because it can accommodate the V8. Just like the RC.

From someone who owned a 2015 IS350F, the V6 and transmission were a little outdated even back then. It's now almost a decade later..
