Gentlemen, hats off to you for what you do for the viewers of this channel. Your sense of humour is amazing. I met Matt Godfrey and Frankie Gianoncelli a few days ago in Poland and hope to see soon on Tackle Guru Tv an episode from where I also fished. Best regards from Poland. Adam Rooney and Dean Nacey I would also like to meet so who knows? Maybe we will meet one day 😊
This summer I caught a very special fish I'd waited many years to catch. I'd had the goal of catching a wild arctic char on dry fly, in unregulated and flowing water for a long time. I'd visited one of the (sadly not many) places that could still tick off all these boxes several years in a row without it happening. Too early or late spring, cold fronts, warm fronts... there was always something. Many years we saw plenty of them but they only surface feed for a very limited time each year. But this last July, above the arctic circle in Sweden it finally happened on the last day of a 9 day grind. I was rewarded for my efforts with a stunning, bright red and orange 750 gram char. Picture can be found on my instagram with same name as this account. PS: Loved the video boys
I was fishing just along from that spot you were fishing on loch voil in August last year. Really enjoying these videos, Fish with Carl brought me here😊 The Lochs are definitely special up here, I hope Scotland treated you well gents.
We got one 15 mins after the boys starting filming, we moved round the bay a bit to try for roach. Powan are a protected species, not allowed to target them, and if caught, must be returned immediately. Some fighters powan.
Really like this, got a mr crabtree feel about it with a twist. Char zander and salmon are on my list to complete and then I think it's onto the sea fishing and try new challenges. Brilliant guys really enjoyed it, tight lines 👍
Really enjoyed that lads. Char are a fantastic species. Those huge Char caught in the (excuse the obvious) Artic rivers on the fly are amongst the most stunning fish, and one I have to catch before I meet my maker. Well done team Guru, anglers, film crew and runners 💪🏻🎣💥💥
Hi really enjoyed your road trip video. What I would like to know if possible is when fishing for artic char.. you used some sort of tripod rod rest. Is this a guru product? If not where could I purchase one from. I fish in ireland and it’s very hard to get a bank stick in most of the waters we fish. Many thanks Mark.
@@TackleguruTV I love watching you 3 because I get tips and it's always fun to watch. I think Matt is a legend, I don't think I've ever seen him be in a bad mood he's always saying funny things about himself and making things fun. True legend!!
All of which are much rarer, if not extinct (burbot), UK species! There are half a dozen or so existing UK species that are rarer than the Char... Spined Loach & European Sturgeon (atleast in estuaries currently), to add to your list 👌
@@PokeMewsment Allis shad are still hanging on, apparently. Personally, I think the burbot might be as well. Certainly more likely than a wild sturgeon.
what make you different to the rest of us who pay for a season ticket or day ticket on the lomond, ive fished it for the pike for over 20 years, and say maybe the last 10 years ive had to buy a ticket, or dont you bother, in the hope you dont get asked to produce it?
It just gets better and better!

Shame Deano left to go to Korum. 3 of you are great to watch
There was I, expecting a hunt for vendace, allis shad or maybe even a burbot!
All of which are much rarer, if not extinct (burbot), UK species! There are half a dozen or so existing UK species that are rarer than the Char... Spined Loach & European Sturgeon (atleast in estuaries currently), to add to your list 👌
No Allis Shad though, our Shad are of the Twaite variety!
@@PokeMewsment Allis shad are still hanging on, apparently. Personally, I think the burbot might be as well. Certainly more likely than a wild sturgeon.
There were Burbot in the Norfolk broads but they haven't been seen for fifty years 😢
who does the voice over for these ??
Some big Ferox in the Voil also, lads, if you fancy a shot at them next time.
Great shout we’ll have to look into it
@@TackleguruTV They won't be too far away from the Char 😉
Get on Strickly next boys Char, Char, Char anyone😅?
Stickleback, Perch,Roach . How it all began.
Magic.
Did he just call that loch a lake.. get yersel back doon south son. ...
Loch literally translates to lake
@@adamrbing loch a loch mate. And can be found in Scotland or Ireland. Lakes are everywhere else in the world. Saor Alba 🏴
lough is the correct spelling pal
😂😂😂 aye dinny come up here and call our water bodies lakes you heathen

Give Dollaghan fishing a go
I did geography 😂😂😂
😂
@@TackleguruTV I mean I did geography too but I’m not half as knowledgeable as Matt 😉
Rooney chip shopped
we need deanos diary back.
Char aren’t the rarest fish in the UK. In Scotland we have two exceptionally rare, endemic species - powan and vendace
Pretty sure that was a female Char complete with ovipositor....... not a "willy".
Haha I bet she was offended then 😂
Can never be too sure these days though!@@TackleguruTV
The best thing about fishing in Scotland is no bloody NRA, so, no licence required. 😉😎
but you do need a permit
@daz918 Errr.. no I don’t.

I’ve my own stretch of river in the highlands. 😎😜
And you stilll have to buy a day ticket or club membership on top of your licence fee.
Awesome as always! ❤️
Thanks Maddie
