I look at what the women's tour does more than the men. They are more similar to my game even tho they are alot more consistent and better at putting, driving and iron play 😅
Hi Chris, greetings from Texas! I enjoy your content; here and on James' Next 100. Especially, your dry sense of humor. Relative to drivers, I was fit a few years ago for a Titleist 11° Tsi 2 at Club Champion. With the fitting, head and shaft it cost $1000. So, I won't be in the market for a new driver anytime soon. I also play TaylorMade M6 irons; 6-SW plus a 60°. I was gonna try some Tacomo irons. However, the online fitting want me to get 1 or 2 degrees upright and an inch longer. Couldn't pull the trigger. Love golf, handicap index 8.8 and I'm almost 76. Play 4 days a week. I bet when you said, "get down in the comments", you weren't looking for an old guy yo write a book. Cheers!
I have the Ping G430 10k max and I am hitting more fairways than I ever have. At 64 years old my eyesight is not what it once was so I do not hit the center of the club face as often as I did in my young days. Also getting good distance from it . Great club
Many like the Costco Driver , ought to put that in the line up too! Pretty damn hard to not buy it for $199 if it keeps up with other drivers , and I have seen many videos where it stands up to the BIG BUCK drivers!
Stock shafts stink…. But dropping 250-350 for a premium shaft is just brutal. I got lucky and found a stealth2 plus with an acccra shaft for 299 and it’s been a winner this year
If turbulators did anything every manufacturer would be using them. I’d like to see ping release 2 drivers that are identical one with turbulators and one without and see which on sells the best. It would be interesting to see if there was any noticeable difference in performance. I’ll never buy a ping with turbulators, I hate looking down at them, not forking out the big dollars for something I’ll never be comfortable with.
Putting your drive in play off the T is the most important thing we amateurs should be considering. I finally upgraded from my Nike Vapor to the ping G430 max... It's an awesome club, I'll have it for the next 10 years+...
Chris Nelly Korda uses the TaylorMade QI10 Max. LPGA player of the year with it. I use it too. Brooke Henderson might use it too. I’m not 100% sure of that
For me the pros on tour are swinging to fast and are so flexible that comparing makes no sense. I prefer a fitting on the range and then go play some holes. I got fitted on a range to stiff shaft Ping 10k max 10.5 degrees, but couldn't play it on the course - low flight, fading of tee, my 17.5 degree 5 wood was longer. At the range just swinging as hard as you can, but on course in competition, my swing speed is very different. I bought an after-market regular shaft and now the club is performing are longer than the 5 wood :-) frustrating to be fitted so badly.
I have seen many videos where guys have put the Ping G-400 Max up against the Ping G-430 Max and the G-400 came out on top . I would save money and buy a G-400 Max if I was actually looking for a driver but my fit PXG has been doing me well for the past 2 years.
Enjoy the vides currently play a TS3, but prefer the Qi10 LS which I shelved temporarily. The Qi10 is awesome on dispersion and I just transfer my shafts from head to head ie Stealth. Stealth 2 etc. I am actually building another shaft that matches the Titlest shaft. I do everything myself tipping, counterbalancing and grips. It helps when a change is consistent and variables are not drastic. With weights from a TM fitter not available to General public and most who do not hotmelt or use lead tape. The shaft is extremely important plus take notes and pictures.
No new drivers for me in 2025. Maybe try something 2nd hand if I want to mix things up. I do like the looks of the TM but I'm grooving with a PXG 0811 Proto Plus. these days.
There are so many ‘forgiving’ irons out there for amateurs, whereas the tour players are playing blades, so I (as a 18 handicap) want a driver that is as ‘forgiving’ as my irons. I don’t expect to strike a blade as good as a tour pro, so why would I expect to use the same driver as a tour player. So for me, I want forgiveness and consistency in a driver, and not because a tour player uses it!
Why should it matter to me what a tour player uses. I don't swing like a tour player and if I wanted the acces to premium shafts like they have it would cost me a fortune. I want something that gives me maximum forgiveness full stop.
Yeah, the shaft I had I. The M1 was 3 wood length. It’s me not the shaft length I’m afraid, but Chris and I will be working on that, particularly my balance through the swing this winter. Videos coming soon I believe
I'm plenty happy with my G425 Max. I got it for a good price in 2022. I think it's still hovering around that price. I went from a Big Bertha Warbird from the mid 90's (that I bought new , back then) to the G425 Max. I love the looks, feel, sound, and how well I get on with it, so I'm good for at least 5 years.
@ no I don’t really care, it just shows how much attention and effort you put into something that you want people to spend their valuable time on. If you think if this is too much to ask then please continue
Why buy a 'tour proven' if you are not on tour. 99.9% of us should be buying 'amateur proven'.
Let Dave do a head to head with tour edge E725 and Eleven drivers
I look at what the women's tour does more than the men. They are more similar to my game even tho they are alot more consistent and better at putting, driving and iron play 😅
lol I watch a lot of LPGA too. It’s a lot more attainable- except their supreme skill. The way they approach the game is at least obtainable.

Definitely would like to see Dave have a go with the Tour Edge(s). Would also like to know if the Eleven driver is mid-handicap friendly.
I second this!
Many like the Costco Driver , ought to put that in the line up too! Pretty damn hard to not buy it for $199 if it keeps up with other drivers , and I have seen many videos where it stands up to the BIG BUCK drivers!
Well done Chris and dave 👏 😊

It would be interesting to see Dave with the Tour Edge E & C 725. Enjoy seeing an average golf using these clubs. Cheers guys.

I’m pretty sure Nelly Korda uses the Qi10 max.

The G400 Max is the GOAT !!!! Ping will never be able to top that club
I wonder if Dave tees it up a bit higher with the Ping what it would do !

Just make sure you don't set them down on the garage floor Chris 😂
Pretty sure Colin Morikawa uses the Qi10 Max
Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood Nelly Korda use the Qi10 driver.
he's talking about the Max model only Korda uses that one.
Go with the Ping!
Try the cobra darkspeed driver not much said about it 😊
Use the pxg black ops and a tpt shaft, never driven better in my life.
Nelly Korda and Collin morikawa use the qi10 max
Nelly Korda and Colin Morikawa use or used the 10k max

james gave positive reviews of the new tour edge boomers . when are you going to pinch and try out for yourself?
It all depends when he lifts Mid Handicap Daves ban from the mini driver episode. So far he’s upheld it from 2021 😂😂😂
ouch that is a long grudge@@ChrisDennisGolf
What’s your thoughts on the Takomo driver Chris?

has Dave ever tried a slightly shorter shaft in driver as he seems to hit a lot of shots toe side, could it possibly help?
Yeah, the shaft I had I. The M1 was 3 wood length. It’s me not the shaft length I’m afraid, but Chris and I will be working on that, particularly my balance through the swing this winter. Videos coming soon I believe

Nelly Korda
You ask who's is this driver good for. How about the number one female golfer on the planet right now. Nelly.K
Assuming you are English I am not impressed by your basic knowledge of English grammar
