Thank you so much for your videos - I love the way you show all the extra little features. The EMBOSSING feature is wonderful !! I've learned so much from you over the years... Always discovering something new.
Thank you. It means a lot to me to know my videos are still helping people. Especially now that I am retired and RUclips has long since stopped monetizing my videos.
Hi Kathleen I would like to say, a big thank you for your tutorial. Two years ago I bought a new Brother sewing and embroidery machine and with this machine, as a bonus I have got Pe design next. I read carefully the manual and I left this software aside, but a few month later i started to look on youtube for any tutorial how to use the software, I discovered your digitising lessons on PE design next .I was so happy and step by step, watching your videos, taught myself how to digitize.I love do it. For the first time last Christmas i could give to my family presents digitised and embroidered by myself. Thank you.
barbara scadden Hi Barbara, I am so happy to hear from you. That is exactly what I was trying to do with these tutorials. Give beginners a platform with the basic skills needed to get started. There are still a lot of things that I do not do well because I mainly just do logos. I hope to get some of my embroidery buddies to help me with photo stitch and applique. Two excellent features of PE Design that I seldom use.
Great videos Kathleen! I am also new to designing embroidery designs and I have found your tutorials inspiring and very helpful in understanding the basic concepts of designing an image that stitches out without stopping. Thank you for providing us a good foundation on the concepts of designing.
Thank you Kathleen - I have learnt so much by following your entire course which I started 2 years ago when I bought my first machine embroidery machine and got hooked on digitising - I upgraded to PE design 10 a couple of days ago - and am revisiting all your tutorials, learning more as I go . Wondering with the "N" in the anchor logo - to get an outline instead of by hand - I converted it to stitches, then to whole outline and then put in an outline ok..... so could the "N" be copied for this purpose, and then infill turned off so that original shows?
Until I get around to doing more videos on 10, keep studying Next as they are very similar. Most importantly is knowing the concepts of density, pull compensation and pathing. Theory trumps software every time!
Hi Kathleen! Thank you so much for this. Your tutorials are a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Was trying to follow along but my scissors still stay put even though I am digitizing with a runner right on top of the previous scissors. Can you tell me why please?
Thanks for watching Trish. Check your stop/start points. This can be done under your sewing order panes or by using a tool under your selector tool arrow (can't think of it's name and I don't have my dongle with me. looks like a circle with a dot in the center) Then select each object and it will tell you where the first stitch starts and last one ends. Should measure
@@OleensEmbroidery Thank you so much. I know which one you mean. I'll try that. To be honest I didn't even expect a reply. So thank you. Very much appreciated.🤗
Hi Kathleen, you are amazing with these tutorials, so easy to understand, I am still waiting for ped 10 to arrive, but have been playing with the stamp since watching the video - I'm still working on ver 7 at the moment.. in v 10 do you just drag your lettering to size - in ver 7 you had a box at the top for letter sizes. Thanks Elaine
New to PE. Can you tell us the X key and Z keys are used to tell program to either straight or curved lines, right. And, to generate the stitches you double click. What lesson did you say is the one that taught how to do the motif stitch of the link????
OleensEmbroidery so you did not show anything more difficult than the flat-side rope? It sure looked much different to try a chain. Is there any chance you will be doing other motif designs such as those that do both sides of center line? Thanks for the answer. I did locate 26. It seemed too simplistic but what do i know? I am grateful for your vids.
@@diannesalazar2420 Not sure what you are asking about being on both sides of the line. Once you start playing around with the programmable stitch creator you will be hooked and will soon start to understand how the motif and fill stitch creator work. Be sure to have your preview pane on. I hope the videos are not too simplistic but I made most of them for the very beginner. Once you know where the tools are and how they work, you will be figuring out most of it on your own. The chain was a bit more complex, employing your knowledge of stitch length, density and pathing.
Hi Kathleen, please do more video's on ped 10 I'm just waiting for mine, I'm on ver 7 but my full ver is 6 so I hope it loads on windows 7 64bit, can't wait to get started and do my toolbar like yours. Elaine
Hi Oleen I have been searching for info on PE design software and came across your videos. I'm sure they will be very helpful in the future. I am wondering if this software will convert hand embroidery redwork into machine redwork embroidery. Is there an easy conversion for this or is it done manually?
hello i love your way of teaching and i so appreciate you . my question is how were you able to bring your silver font to the front im having trouble with that . thank you so much
Hi Niki, I may do it in the future, but in the mean time watch lesson 26, and create the rope motif for practice. Then down load the chain image from Google (it is still there) and figure it out. When you see how easy and fun it is to do you will be creating all sorts of motifs.
OleensEmbroidery thanks You I use PSC but I would lire to know how i your chain (allo The stitch create not a lesson) Thanks for your reply And tutorial. Cheers
It would get loopy, put off registration, show gaps, snag in the wash. Probably more reasons, however you can get around a lot of these obstacles by increasing the density, or drawing in a carve stitch (emboss). You might notice that when you go over a certain length, the software adds it's own drop stitch to tack it down. In other words it will not allow the machine to go but so far before dropping a stitch. Hope that helps. Keep watching and asking questions. I'm here to teach what I know.

OleensEmbroidery do you have a video showing how to remove overlap from over text? (Like a picture that you want to overlap the text)

Bbb Rrrr I'ts been a long time since I worked with version 7. I'm confident that version 10 text features are more numerous and easier to use.

It was the last element digitized
Do you have a video showing the actual sewn embroidery and applique. We would like to see your finished product.
+28drafting I did this one for my sister so I never got around to testing it myself. I had to do a few extra tweaks but she said it sewed out great.
Hi Can You show how You made your chain stitch in programmable stitch creator ? Thanks

Why should a satin stitch go no longer than 10mm?

The explanation is good but bad graphics . thanks any how.
