Karen Norman Mrs Blackston's approach to this subject was clear and and to the poiny.. She is the embodiment of a woman on a mission to teach others the delights of the PE Design 10. +Karen Mckenzie You are welcome. Glad it helped. If there is anything in particular you would like me to address, let me know and I will see about doing a video for it.
Thank you for the informative lesson. I have one question. I noticed the layers most of them overlap. Will this cause the needle to break or can you lessen the layers?
Thank you for the very informative video! You and Edwina make a winning combo for sure--two creative artistic women! I think I might start with an animal picture which will probably be more forgiving. Is there a reason you saved the design in one needle machine rather than ten needle machine? How many stitches did you have in that picture?
+DianebelongstoChrist there is. the way the software interprets the stitch data and the way it stitches out is slightly different, depending on whether your machine automatically cuts the jump stitches other than in between color changes
+DianebelongstoChrist Animals usually come out great but so do babies or any other photo that is crisp and clear with good contrast. Edwina did this tutorial with a one needle setting because we figured that is what most of the viewers are using.
You need to watch more videos. I eventually answer most questions if you can suffer through at least half of the videos. Keep with it and don't give up.

Edwina was unable to answer this however she told me it was probably because the stitch count was too high for the hoop size. You can either increase the hoop size or try to reduce the stitch count. Try increasing the stitch length and decreasing the density. Also combine as many colors as you can. Hope that helps. If not send the PES file to kathleen @oleens .com and I will forward it to Edwina.
High there I have pe design 6 iam thinking of upgrading to pe design 10 .. I used the photo stitch to create a photo image of my daughter using pe 6 it had tons of stitches and several jumps ..I didn't like the way the design turned out soo I never used it again . Do u think pe design 10 would be easier to use and not so many stitches.? I don't want to spend hours sewing out. Design ? Thanks
+Traecey Leeson I usually use a medium to heavy weight linen, but I have also used canvas, denim and some cottons with success. As for stabilization, although photo stitch tends to be rather stitch intensive, the way it stitches out and the distribution of the stitches makes a difference. I usually use two pieces of a fusible no show mesh at 45 degree angles of each other, then I hoop a piece of medium to heavy weight cutaway, and if necessary due to stitch count, I will float one or two pieces of cutaway underneath the hoop before I start stitching. Finally, i will do a basting stitch first to anchor all the layers together. I seldom ever have any puckering issues.
Does the photo stich automatically select the color of the thread for you on the sewing order or did you create that because it did not show in this video?
You would defiantly need a multi needle machine. 10 needles or more. There are so many color changes in Photo-Stitch. I use a Brother 10 needle. My friend Edwina does quite well with her Photo Stitch skills. She also uses a brother 10 needle.
@@OleensEmbroidery Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. Coming from hand stitching photos I am not yet familiar with the different machines out there and what they are capable of. I will look up Brother 10 needle now. Thanks again and have a great day!
