OMG - such simple little things explained here that I got wrong and was getting soooo discouraged. Have yet to master multihooping for my SE400 but I'll get it! Thanks for the videos - I NEEDED THEM!
Thank you for your video! I am not seeing a "line sew" box show up, only "region sew", even though there are lines in my design. How do I get that yellow box to activate? Any help appreciated, thanks.
I imported a design I bought from Etsy, when I try to shrink it by over 50% after holding the CTRL key, the stitches count didn't change at all. The sewing attribute is totally blank too. I'm so frustrated and don't know how to shrink it.
I don't think it will in "stitches", only in block. Converting stitches to blocks has never been very successful with purchased designs in my experiences. Especially if the design was created in another brand software. Another thing, embroidery is not like laser printing. Even in the best of situations you should never try to reduce a design more than 10%. Thread is about 1mm thick. So a zig zag or satin stitch outline might need to be a running stitch or eliminated completely. The smaller the design, the less detail can be obtained. It needs to be re digitized for that size.
Great info. Wonder if you can help me out here..., I'm currently searching on why my sewing attributes don't even show up. Loaded a PES design, and I can't change any attributes. Just the color. Can't figure this one out...my sewing attributes tab is just completely blank no matter what object I choose. Other designs it works for no problem. I don't know what is wrong with this one.
+Morningside Sanitarium If the PES file loaded in your software was digitized by someone else or purchased, it is probably in "stitches". Look at lesson 12 in this PE Design 10 series for an explanation. Be mindful that sometimes when you convert to "block" some of the stitches might change.
Hello thank you for all your videos! I've been trying to get through a large chunk of them and understand how to embroider better for my small business. I have a very basic brother machine and the underlay stitch keeps showing up even after the top stitch is laid down. Is this due hooping/needle/too much fabric within the hoop carriage? Or is this something i can fix on software? I think it is a result of having a huge hoodie inside my embroidery carriage which is small or maybe a needle or hooping issue... Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this error? Thanks
Is this happening with all your designs? I would love to see an example to analyze it. Send the PES file to kathleen@oleens.com and I will take a look. Also, if you love education videos I would suggest John Deer's Embroidery Legacy channel. He uses a different software, but his channel is loaded with theory. Especially where he analyzes a file and shows how he corrects problems.
@@OleensEmbroidery It happens less frequently on the word designs I use but it happens most on the actual logo design I digitized. I will be sure to check out that channel as well. I have sent along my PES file on email as well. Thank you!
Thank you for all the lessons, do you teach how to do the black outline in any of them on the outside of the stitching? I havent gone thru all of them yet
There are two boxes with little colored thread spools. One for "region sew type" the other for "line sew type". Check" not sewn (line)" to remove or change the outline on shapes or text.

Hi +OleensEmbroidery! Thank you for this great video! It has really taught me a lot as a beginner. I have a question. When I use regular fonts for my text, if it's a fat font the satin stitch is too long and my thread tends to be loose in areas. I really prefer the satin stitch for my text over the fill or other stitches. is there a way to fix this? Thank you Ma'am for all you do. :-)
+OleensEmbroidery Thank you Miss Kathleen! That video was perfect for what I need. I hate that I can't use a satin stitch with large text but those are the breaks. You're a Blessing!
It depends on the size. In general, the larger the area the more coverage and step pitch (stitch length) you need, Smaller areas may need less. I am not sure what 114 is as I think in mms', But the default setting is good for most areas in a standard 100 x 100 mm hoop

Thank you for watching Donna. Stick with it. It is so much fun.
Brilliant videos - waiting for a split applique letter tutorial now - thanks Kathleen
I did something and my sewing attributes don’t work. I followed your directions but it still doesn’t show up. Any ideas what I did?
Thank you. I have learned so much from you.

Hi
How can I change the direction of stitches in the design from right to left instead of right, left, center?
Thank you for all the lessons, do you teach how to do the black outline in any of them on the outside of the stitching? I havent gone thru all of them yet

What do you set your density at for fill stitches like I know 114 is default but what is the best in your opinion
