How did you come up with the age of 20?
I read the book of Jubilees, but I did not see any verses about the age of birth or the age of Marriage?
can you give me the verses, and how did you come up with the age of 20?

    • @SentinelApologetics
      @SentinelApologetics  День назад +13

      In Jubilees, we read that:
      1. Year 2002 Rebekah is born.
      2. Year 2027 Rebekah is married.
      3. Year 2046 Rebekah gave birth.
      4. Year 2157 Rebekah died.
So, 25 years old (or 20 years old with a minor textual variant) at marriage, and 44 years old when giving birth. The year "2002" is derived when she says "I die now at 155" in year 2157.

@@SentinelApologeticseven in Olam Rabah 1 original variant is that she had 14 hahah, European manuscript was contaminated by addition in Tosefat Sefarim 1-4 from 8th century and scribe who copied Olam Rabah misscribed that addition from Tosefat (work from 8th century and pay attention that have addition in ot even later) Yakov Eden, famous Jewish rabbie admit that.
By the way, muslim's sons of satan lied about translation 😂
By the way, Rebecca was called:Betulah/Almah/Narah which in Bible Always means girls that past puberty. Start adolescence and can born a child also a Chickuni comentary on Genses said that!

      @@SentinelApologetics Alternatively:
Book of Jubilees 35:6 has Rebekah at age 155 when she dies. The next chapter has Isaac dying 5 years later at 180 (36:18), so Isaac was 175 when Rebekah was 155. This means Rebekah was 20 when she married 40 year old Isaac.

@@SentinelApologeticsbro this Muslim sons of satan lied, first with opinion Rebecca was 3 was Rashi and i explained why, also same Rashi called her Narah which means that by rabinic standard she was at least 12.-5 years+ one year more to wait between bethrowal ans marriage so she was at least 13.5 years+ puberty old by same Rashi. Why he said she was 3?
Two options: his grandson Rasbam said he wrote Torah explanation in alegorical manner,
Second: he believed in some Rabbinic legends that said that patriarchs like Terah Abraham's father, Abraham, so probably also a Rebecca, grand doather of Tearah, doather of Abraham's brother were super human and developed much faster.
They believed that Terah was a giant, Abraham with 8 was already grown up man ect. So they probably also believed same stuff for Rebecca because look in their sagas she lived also like 2 times longer than usual man.

My flippant comment was meant to highlight that, as you said, not only is her age not mentioned in the Bible, but also that the description of Rebecca in the Bible is comprehensively incongruous with a 3-year old. It would be impossible to conclude from her actions and speech in the Bible, that she is anything less than a young woman or teen.

Islamic sources don't work the way Christian sources do. So they think that the Christian sources work the way Islamic sources do not. According to Christian sources 3 isn't an acceptable age for marriage, according to properly sourced Islamic texts, 9 is the age Muhammad consummated his relationship with Aisha, and if the prophet didn't sin, then according Islam having a sexual relationship with a 9 year old isn't a sin. Therefore Islam promotes child Marriage.

This is a profoundly problematic and false claim.. The holy Bible, the only authoritative source, repeatedly calls Rebekah a young woman in Genesis: Abraham’s directive to his servant is to find a young woman for Isaac’s bride, & the servant inquires for direction if the young woman doesn’t want to go with him. The mission’s objective is clear that the servant is to find a young, unmarried woman for a bride. Rebekah was able to shepherd flocks, a dangerous job no toddler could perform, and she was mature enough to be able to discuss the proposal of marriage with her family and to decide for herself whether or not to accept. She was physically strong and able to perform an adult female’s chore of drawing water from the well for Abraham’s servant and all ten of his camels. Based on the amount of water a camel can hold, Rebekah drew well over 5,000 pounds of water to accomplish this task. Rebekah was clearly a young adult.

    • @lylyscuir

If I were Muslim, I wouldn't trust other Muslims. Being deceitful isn't limited to their apologetics, either. Muslims are allowed to lie if it conceals a sin (since confessing a sin to another is a greater sin in Islam than lying), which effectively gives them free reign to lie all they like, even to other Muslims.

I know everyone sees the ridiculousness of this argument by now. Basically, Muslims have to lie to make “the Rebecca was 3” argument work. Another crucial detail I want to point out another detail 😂
    1. The phrase “after these things” serves as the only link between the events of Chapters 21 and 22, suggesting an unspecified interval of time. If one argues that Rebekah was only 3 years old when her birth was announced, they would have to consequently assert that Isaac was 6 years old when he married her. However, Genesis 21:1-3 describes Isaac's birth, while Genesis 22:1 introduces the phrase “after these things.” Based on this reasoning, Isaac would have been 3 years old when Abraham received the news about his brother Nahor having children and grandchildren. This line of reasoning, which some early Jewish sources developed and Muslims later adopted, implies a misunderstanding of the timeline. Since Isaac is 37 years old in Chapter 22, it is clear that the phrase “after these things” signifies an indeterminate period, rather than a precise sequence of events.
    2. By the time we reach Genesis 22:20-24, verse 20 again begins with “after these things” and mentions Rebekah’s birth in verse 23. This clearly indicates that Rebekah was already born. The interpretation by some Muslims and others who misread the text overlooks this context. Nahor had eight children and twelve grandchildren, with Rebekah being specifically mentioned among them. To assert that Rebekah was born at the exact moment Abraham received news of Nahor’s children and grandchildren is logically flawed. Following this interpretation would imply that all of Nahor’s children and grandchildren were born simultaneously, which is clearly impossible. To put it plainly, claiming that Rebekah was born when Abraham received this news would also mean that her father and uncles were born at that same moment, as their births are mentioned too. This interpretation does not stand up to the textual evidence.
