A historic winter storm is causing major issues across the New Orleans, Louisiana area today. Record setting snow has shut the city down, with all interstates closed. Cars can be seen stuck in the snow, as most roads are impassable. Near blizzard conditions can be observed in the French Quarter, with some people still out braving the weather. A winter storm warning remains in effect for the area.

WOW!!! More snow in New Orleans today than in Minneapolis all season soon far! 😮
As of the time of this post, there’s only about a half inch of crusty old snow on the ground in Minneapolis with blades of grass showing through the snow.

Yeah this shit sucks was like a blizzard ,stuck indoors for like 3 days now roads melt to black ice the south not built like that
January 21st, 2024, I walked to the Mississippi River, slushed through 12” + of powdery snow just a few blocks from the CDB of New Orleans. Upon my return, I started clearing the area under our canopied entrance which included snow drifts that blocked the entrance doors. A couple of Good Samaritans walking by asked if they could help - I replied sure. One had a snow shovel! I asked him where did he get the snow shovel. He replied he was from Canada (Montreal). And so he said a snow shovel is a tool they all carry! Only in New Orleans! A couple of Canucks visiting… Merci beaucoup!

Slidell, Louisiana is where they filmed several scenes for the old James Bond Movie "Live & Let Die" in 1973 .. it mentions Slidell in the movie credits at the end of the film.

NOAA posted blizzard warnings for southern Louisiana early this morning.
Crazy! I live in BC Canada and we haven't got a single flake of snow all year.

This isn't too bad if you live in the northeast like I do. Just have to hold the throttle steady and not spin the tires. It's pretty easy actually.

one of out RaceTrac gas stations in Baton Rouge has glacier in between pumps and store 😁, it melted bit into transparent snow then froze in 11° night and ice remained there so far all day under the sun's radiant heat ... i bet whoever in semi had auto-chains yesterday felt pretty lucky
Those wipers drove me crazy with earbuds on. Anyways this looks like the snow we had in Toronto a few days ago. We get snow likw that all the time here and i. hardly have the wipers going intermittent just the defroster on
