Yes, sometimes a new company will have all kinds of issues with quality to start with but this was pretty darn easy to put together. Looking forward to new releases and ideas.
I see on this one you did some underbody wear and tear. That was fast. I’ll have to watch all the stock builds , you may have answered other questions. Sound track is nice. Always listen to music while I build. We all can use a little humor. Thanks again
The exhaust pipes - I actually KRINGED when you touched them at fist as they looked hot! Really, like heated stainless after 500 miles at full throttle. The entire car is impressive. The paint looks realistic for the era and again, your pre shadowing and washes add realism. Inspirational. The bar has once again notched up. Thanks for sharing...
Nice build! I got one as well and am impressed. I am using paint code T Candy apple red from a 67 to 69 Ford mustang . Your colonial red is looking great. It's a great kit and thumbs up to Jr sorvinos
Awesome build up. I too do mine as I would want them to be. I put a lot more chrome under the hood than most builders do. Just the way I like it. Keep the good work up and I'll be watching.
I had fit issues building mine. I guess because I never built a nascar before. But maybe the next one ill follow your steps and make it a better fit. Thanks for all your demonstrations and break downs!
I absolutely LOVE your videos, especially your vintage racing models. This is my third go-round of watching the build up of these Salvino kits lol. Can’t wait to see that Earnhardt 442!
Beautiful work as always! I have this kit, the Donnie Alison Olds, and two of the Buddy Baker olds. Can’t wait to see your Dale Earnhardt olds build, those decals are the reason I bought two of the Grey Ghosts the day they came out.
I'm impressed, anyone starting a new model company that produces homegrown, desirable and well detailed subject matter at a competitive price deserves success and our continued patronage. Certainly looks like a decent end result and good to hear the decals go in well. Did I notice a big scratch / dent on the front corner of the hood when it was still in bare plastic...?
I love it! It reminds me of the old mpc, revell, monogram kits that where made in the good old USA.🇺🇲😎👍there's hardly any toys made in the usa anymore! Happy that this company is doing so.🇺🇲
Great job mate, it will be 3 months before those kits get here so lm going to Hobbyco this morning to preorder all of them . I watch you all the time to see what the kits are like because at the moment the Aussie $ is way down and they are 75 dollars here .
I too have this kit. It's awesome with all of the parts in it! Can't wait to get started on mine. Thanks man for the cool video, great music during the paint process!
Looks like a very nice kit indeed! And you did a great job on it. Nice to see a new company coming out with new-tooled kits.. maybe they can also do things other than just race cars :)
Nice Chris! I pre-ordered Bakers #27 Monte from them, still waiting for it but really looking forward to a Nascar kit other then Monogram/A.M.T. Looks like a nice kit from they way yours went together... I've built 100's of Nascar kits in my life so I'm sure I'll get through the instructions okay, Thanks for the great review and build my friend 🏁🏁🏁👍👍👍
You will have zero issues with the assembly or directions. They omit a few things like I showed but you'll pick up on it fast. And they've commented that they will work on the directions, that's really responsive.
@@hpiguy Nice!! Good to hear bro! So glad there's a new company in town and they like car racing! That's mostly what I build, I hope they stick around... If they continue to put out good quality like you say they might just be here to stay! 🏁👍👍
Really diggin this one, i love classic nascar. would be neat to see a Darrell Ealtrip rookie season chevy. I recently finished the revell 68 chevelle and mpc monaco, youre channel has given me lots of inspiration. keep it up~
Nice looking kit. I like the prominence of the pads on the roll cage. I thought I saw some large injector pin marks on the bottom of the chassis. That would be my only gripe
Love your videos - your builds are all so very clean and detailed. Was wanting to do this kit to build Darrell Waltrip's 78 Gatorade Monte Carlo "Bertha" - would you happen to have any specs as far chassis, engine & interior details especially paint? Again thank you sharing your expertise!
Yes! Finally another kit manufacturer that does not have it's kits manufactured in China!.It is about time America leveled the playing field. For almost 30 years,Asia has had a monopoly on the manufacturing of plastic model kits.
I want to say thank you for all the reviews you do. I subbed awhile back and have either purchased or shied away from kits that I have watched you review here. Thanks Donald. i'm pretty sure Salvino J R is going to be staying in the race vehicle category, but then again, no one but them knows their future plans.
Very nice work on a beautiful model. I'm just like you: NASCAR .. don't know a lot about them but love them, did one NASCAR model from Monogram and planning to do more.
Thanks! Right, we don't have to be a perfect expert to enjoy all kinds of model kits. Some people (who lack the fun factor in their lives) forget that and think you need to be a walking encyclopedia just to build a model and like it.
I have seen a couple of the Salvino's Olds kits built, including on the cover of Scale Auto magazine, and one thing always stands out to me on that car - the rear wheel openings are too low and don't show enough of the tire. That's important, since the big slicks are such a prominent feature on NASCAR cars, and the solution is simple - radius the rear wheel wells a bit to show more tire. Would make a big difference.
Another hit out of the park, Chris! These Salvinos reissues are just awesome and it is great to see these classic kits available again. Also great to see that they brought out the '79 Olds as well so now we can model the pool scene from Cannonball Run! Also, what did you use to paint the window trim and did you have to do much masking?
Hi there. Was wondering if you can apply future finish as a clear coat over decals. I know you probably airbrush but I've heard you can use this as a clear coat. Note I don't have any decal set or Sol on them. Thanks. Love your videos

These are wonderful kits. But I'm not into Nascars. Tho, Salvinos have released a vid this week of a new WIP of a '73 Charger. It's the road-going version and not a stock-car. However, this may just be the begining of a new stock-car, and they started from the picture of the road-going car, but some people think that Salvinos may be working on their first road-going car kit.

Got this kit today! Thrilled with Salvinos JR kits! I’ve wanted to build a Hawaiian Tropic car since Cannonball Run!
