I'm always happy to see anything SH related by you Rumin , and thanks for bringing your pal Jake. Hello from russian SH fans 🤝 Would love to hear more from you both , also - Rumin , your latest Homecoming essay is fire 💥
The abstract daddy fight and build up to it horrified me. The sounds James makes when he grabs you is so guttural and actually scared me. Plus abstract daddy stalking James freaked me out too. Never have I ever actually yelled and screamed at my monitor in fear. Good shit bloober
The mannequins are really crazy and sometimes I can't help cracking up with the way they act and/or attack and making me think they are trying to box (boxing). I read that the mannequins are a huge representation of James' sexual frustration.
Came here from twt, this game is simply amazing. I loved the haptic feedback of raindrops. I love the soundtrack as well. Although I did just slightly prefer the original soundtrack. And despite these characters being different from the originals, all of them. I still loved these new interpretations of the characters. Luke Roberts gave such a hell of a performance as James Sunderland. That I found myself empathizing so much more with James this time around. Beautiful reimagining of what was already a masterpiece horror game 🖤
Hi crow! 👋 I absolutely LOVE Luke Roberts as James. I hope he gets an award for his performance. He's very toned guy with a british accent, but his acting is so good that he was able to flawlessly portray James as a normal, somewhat slouchy American. I know some will complain the characters are different but, whatever lol. These characters are still fantastic!
i started the play original game with your videos and i finished the game with your videos bought the remake yesterday but i cant play now because of the fps problem but thanks a lot for the old videos !!! (i will watch the video when i able to finish the game ))
Extra thoughts not mentioned in this video: This game maybe has the best use of haptic dualsense feedback of any game I've played, so far. When it rains, you can feel every raindrop in the controller! The music is so good that I can't think of a single remade track that is worse than the original; at worst it's just as good as the original. Bloober really went all out with accessibility features, giving Silent Hill 2 Remake a true genuine purpose: People who can't play the original due to disability such as impaired vision, CAN play the remake. And that's beautiful. This might be one of the best looking games I've ever seen. Heaven's Night, the after-video tape Hotel, & Rosewater Park are true spectacles. The new radio questions in the hospital being unskippable is probably the biggest single downgrade between this version and the original. EDIT: apparently you CAN skip this in a clever way!
(Sorry for such a long response) Thanks for watching my content and wanting more, it means a lot. If I were to make one, it probably wouldn't be any time soon. Part of what I consider 100% is to pick up all items and examine all memos, as well as give definitive ending rundowns. I was able to make those original 100% guides cause those games were out for over a dozen years, so all the items pick ups and memos were well documented, as well as the mechanics to get the different endings. Silent Hill 2 Remake just released, so it make take a while for players to discover all the secrets and all the items. I only want to do a guide once I'm satisfied that all the appropriate information has been discovered for me to confidently do a guide. My Silent Hill 4 100% guide was made before Eileen's mechanics were understood, and I don't want to make that same mistake again.
Wanted to leave you of course a looooong Comment for this Podcast/Discussion... but i am exhausted, with that my english is even shittier than usual... lucky you 😄 I would love to have you for a general "Horror-Videogame" discussion on my Gaming Channel too one fine Day, if you like. ALSO...Dude, i would like to see a Tier-List for the Supportive Characters from all SH Games. Eddie, Eileen, Chyntia, Douglas... All of them, no matter if supportive or "non-active".
I'm not sure how a general horror style discussion with me would work since the only horror I've played is Silent Hill. I might make other tier lists if I feel like it. I'm happy you're down with the content!
@@RuminInLove Maybe i got that wrong all the Time, but you only played SH of all Horror-Games? No RE, no Alone in the Dark, Castlevania etc? Of course Tier-Lists only if you like, just wanted to tell you, i am interested in it. never mind me :)

@@RuminInLove I just wanted to start by saying I’m really enjoying this chat! Sorry it took me a while to check it out - I’ve been a bit busy, but so far it’s great. I haven’t finished the video yet, but you guys have made some good points. So far, I think it’s the best game of the year for me! Let’s see if it holds that spot after Stalker 2 and Indiana Jones come out, though. :)
The attention to detail is incredible too. There's a channel called DarkViper (I think), and they've started making videos about the small details in the game. It's amazing to see how much thought went into it! In my playthrough, for example, before I met Maria, I tried leaving Rosewater Park and the gate was locked. Later, after meeting her, when I passed through, James had a small line of dialogue. It wasn’t much, but it was a nice touch that made me appreciate the effort they put into these little things.
As for Angela, I get the impression that she’s uneasy around James because he’s a man. Even though he didn’t have anything to do with her past, it seems like she feels uncomfortable around him because of that. Just my interpretation, though. And I totally agree about the voice acting - it feels so much more human and realistic than the original. The original is still good, but I feel like they really outdid themselves with this one. Angela’s voice acting feels a bit off to me too, but I can’t quite pinpoint why. It’s not bad, just a little odd. Oh, and that sound James makes when he tries to open a locked door - it scares me every time because it's so loud!
Yesssss thanks so much for having me! This was such a fun and rewarding discussion

@TRAJureiko thank you! I worked really hard on that Homecoming video so I love to hear its praises.
I have absolutely no complaints about this game. Man.. Dead Rising Deluxe and this in a months span. What a time to be alive!
I hope they add the hyper spray

The new Abstract Daddy fight really felt like an abusive household 😬 Bloober cooked.

Glad you guys enjoyed it.
Looking forward to watching this :) glad you liked the remake though
I want to recommend changing the aiming reticle to a white dot, very transparent. It's really intuitive and minimal. Great conversation!
That sounds more immersive & more accurate than the reticles. I'll try that next playthrough. Thanks for the tip!
You can skip the Trick or Treat segment by shooting the elevator panel with 1 Shotgun + 1 Handgun round. Melee doesn't work.
That's nuts! Thanks for sharing!
I liked the part where James Sunderland did a backflip over a chainsaw and said "Where is everyone going... Bingo !?"
James Sunderland Kennedy
Haven't played it yet, but came to drop some support on the video being it'll be a while till I can afford to play it lol.

Remake Maria is a hit or miss, sometimes she delivers the lines better than in the original, sometimes she sounds like a robot.
I was trying to write a comment but for some reason it ain't staying in here
