I had the same opinion as you of PT when it came out lol (it’s like a less scary version of SCP-07). However I will never forgive Konami for canceling Silent Hills. It was free btw, it was just a teaser for Silent Hills that probably had nothing to do with the story

You’ve made me excited to play the post team silent games, after I beat Silent Hill 1 I’m gonna hook up my ps3 to my crt and play Downpour, going to do the same with Homecoming on the Xbox 360 when I pick that up. Even though I don’t fully agree with your opinions about the games I think the silent hill fanbase is way too focused on negativity and I’m looking forward to playing all of the games with an open mind, you’re the best Rumin!
SH4 is my favorite game in the series too, due in no small part to the fact that it was the first SH game I ever played. I also totally agree about the aiming bugs in SH3, it's why I ALWAYS run from monsters instead of fighting them whenever possible.
SH4 is the only game like it ever made. All of its gameplay and mechanics just scratch a certain itch that no other game has come close to matching... Except maybe Star Ocean 3 or Pikmin 2? (weird comparison, I know). I'm surprised I don't hear more complaints about some of the enemies or aiming in SH3. I guess the combat is just so good despite all that haha.
I’m playing through all the games for the first time and just finished 4 but I just gotta say, your walkthroughs are extremely thorough and super helpful! Do you think you’ll ever do walkthroughs for origins or downpour? Also SH1 is criminally underrated, definitely my favorite in the series
While I do love Origins and Downpour, I think normal playthroughs will suffice for those games rather than walkthroughts... Although I will say I am not particularly proud of my current Silent Hill Origins let's play on my channel, so I may redo that one one day.

You know a game is god tier when the only complaint anyone ever seems to have about it is "it breaks the canon" (even though it doesn't break the canon but I digress).
I got nothing but love for SH1. It hold up great even now in 2024. Having done 10-star ranks in the first 4, Id say 1 is tied with 3, in terms of difficulty. And thats a great thing. In SH1, I feel that I actually Earned my 10, because it was so hard to pull off. Good tines, good times.. Edit: you nailed it on Downpour. Unskippable cutscenes and autosaves, combined with the most ridiculous bonus weapons system ever created, was a letdown. Downpours biggest strength imo is the town that you can explore, and the story. But yea you pointed this out but I wanted too 😅

It's a very nice addition. It gives you two new weapons (though one of them is a clone of another weapon) and a new dungeon. The new dungeon is very nice, one of the best dungeons in SH2 imo. With Born from a Wish, I'd put SH2 slightly above SH3. Without Born from a Wish, I'd put it slightly below SH3.

I looked on steam but sh2 remake the only one i can find
I would say Homecoming but unfortunately the steam version is the worst version. You can play 1, 2, 3, 4, & Origins on emulators (PCSX2 for PS2 games, PPSSPP for PSP). You can technically also play Homecoming, Shattered Memories, & Downpour on emulators but that's a trickier thing to set up.
Yeah, the original SH2 is still the best and most disturbing and just as playable and awesome as when first released. The remake is game of the year, I own it physically but there's no way it's better than the original when the truly disturbing things have been removed/watered down. Censorship is wrong. I'm actually playing both the original and the remake. Well into my second playthrough on PS5 and my millionth playthrough of the original on my PS3, both hooked up to my TV and those two scenes with pyramid head and the mannequins before you leave the apartments/at the start of the first pyramid head battle has significance to James that you don't just remove, you just don't do it. But I own both physically but if I could only own one version, it's certainly the original SH2 with the true disturbing experience and no censorship.
@princessmagical bruh lay off the booze and get glasses because there is no censorship at all. Character designs are more closer to the original artbook than PS2 version was and there is plenty of blood and gore

I absolutely hated homecoming. That and glitchpour are like, two of the worst games I've ever played. SH2 is S tier though, the rest I basically agree with.
My Comments are always long, i know 😪 Never played the mobile Games and the Rail-Shooter, mobile means Smartphone, right? Not my deal. Same with the new entry, the one you have to invest Money in, being chained sucks. Also i don't like to play in first-Person for two Reasons, the first one is motion-sickness (but that is my Problem) You can imagine how i suffered the Short Message, even if i liked it. The Second Reason is, i am oldschool and in love with looking at the Character i play, ever watched a first-Person Movie? 😄 P.T. and i absolutely agree with you, is not a Game... like Resident Evil 1.5 or 3.4 never was a Game, just fucking DEMO Gameplay of what could have been a Game. Many People rage out hearing that, like little Children that don't get what they want. Mostly those People are "haters" themselves. I agree also that saving System of the late 2000's til mid 2010's was a Mess, like "play in the State i saved your Game or start a new Game"... I love my different good or bad Save-Slots 😅 I will not rate Homecoming til i finished the Game because that is an unfair Syndrom of People in the 40's like me. Like i mentioned, I LOVE!!! the Atmosphere of that Game, for Example the Fight/Scenario of the Doll, so scary and eerie. Bro what. The combat is literally the worst. How can you preferí doing the same thing like 300 hundred times. This Dark souls style is not at all for silent hill, you weré meant to fear the monster not kill all of the till it becomes boring
I've never felt the need to fight every monster in Homecoming, you can run just like in the other games. The combat is very similar to the earlier games imo, it just has a dodge button meaning you need to be more careful when fighting monsters. I think the combat does a great job at feeling clunky & survival-like like the earlier games while still playing as someone who's more competent at defending themselves.
If that's the case then I just disagree more cause the combat is far less repetitive and more fearful in SH2R than the original, imo. In SH2 you can make it through the whole game doing the same thing but SH2R encourages you to change things up to survive.

The glitches in Downpour must be overblown cause I've never experienced a glitch in that game, besides maybe 3 crashes in my 10+ playthroughs.
