I can totally see at Summer game Festival that after showing the Sonic x Shadow generation trailer, Geoff says, "Thats not the only sonic and Shadow content we have for you today..." and transition to the movie 3 trailer.
Honestly, only thing I would personally change is Sonic Boom's placement. I totally understand why just think its ight. But for me, its much higher. I can get my mind to know that these are completely separate versions of characters that are their own individuals. So everyone being way sillier than usual I can look pass. Especially with how funny some moments are. Like Roger breaking character and saying "He's talking to me" in his actual voice at one point.
The Sonic OVA is really underrated even though everyone says it’s peak. For me it’s the best Sonic animation we’ve gotten so far, sure it may not be as well animated as some of the Tyson Hesse stuff but whenever I watch it I just get that Sonic energy. I also have a soft spot for it since it was one of the first things I watched from Sonic when getting into the franchise, makes me want a 2D Sonic show again all the more.
Weird to think that Sonic X is the only animated Sonic media that has Super Sonic in it. Also shout-out to the Japanese version for actually using Live and Learn for the end of the SA2 arc.
An Absolute Peak honorable mention should go to the Sonic Riders opening cinematic. Its short, but it by far has my favorite animation in the entire series. Could you imagine if we got a full anime done like that?? *chef's kiss*

i've been rewatching Sonic X in Japanese recently and it's so much better than the English dub and this is coming from someone that grew up watching the English dub. I would say most episodes are pretty damn enjoyable, even some filler and that's what makes it peak to me. It's the equivalent of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl anime being peak main episodes with some really good filler episodes

Fadel I 100% agree that Sonic OVA is peak Sonic animation, especially considering that it took many liberties with its own original world interpretation and characters. What I love the most it's that it gets Sonic (even if he's a lil' douche but it gets that he is a jerk with a heart of gold). If dragon balls where real you bet your rings that I've would wished a full season of that series (as it was intended), would love to see what they had in store!

(im pretty sure sonic team was also involved with sonic x) shadows inhibitor rings orignated in x, knuckles being a treasure hunter originated in the ova and the expansion on metal sonic as a character in heroes is similar to the one he had in the ova lets not forget that the ost in the ova had a similar vibe to the games of that era (jp/eu cd ost, sonic r, sonic the fighters) and the artsyle was clearly going for something similar to the cd opening, and x's artstyle is just striaght up early 2000s uekawa as for the animation in x, keep in mind that it was a weekly kids anime from the early 2000s
AoSTH really introduced Scratch and Grounder, paving the way for Sonic X having Decoe and Bocoe (and then the games having Orbot and Cubot), but tbh they just cannot compete with the OG goats imo 😤
Sonic OVA is very dope I loved it so much when I first watched it and I like how Sonic was being a lil asshole to Eggman😂 in that movie, his fight with Metal Sonic was raw in the ice area and the soundtrack is good! And of course I love Sonic X watched the show back then with the eng dub and gotta say the 4kids opening is still iconic.
honestly i quite liked rise of the wisps for its animation, art style and some jokes, but the thing about it is that it's very much trying to copy the game colors' writing, so it comes off as childish and goofy as the game which they nailed, but if you aren't a fan of the writing in colors you're not gonna be a fan of rise of the wisps, it is highly reminiscent of that games' writing and tone the fight with metal sonic gaining the power of the wisps was raw though
