    Thank you guys, means a lot to me.
    I'm really proud of them, for touring now all around the world, and seeing people appreciating their work.
    Cheers for Portugal 🇵🇹

    Seeing Gaerea live was a great and unique experience. The vocalist transmits pure, dark feelings to the fans. Their album Mirage is an impressive work leads to almost perfection

    DUDE, Gaerea is one of my top favorite artists in the last few years, their lyrics are just as amazing, they are great. Highly recommend their last two albums Limbo and Mirage, now we get a new one in October called COMA. Also one of their music videos is literally one of the members of the band getting waterboarded for 7 minutes, its so intense just like the music.

    Great band, hadn't heard them before, so glad you picked this one.
    I don't know if I'm just old as shit or what, but I feel like a lot of metal lost something with how clean recording equipment is now.

    I did check out Gaerea because i was supposed to see them live, due to some stuff they had to dip out of the tour but i did check out their stuff anyway, the single from the previous album Salve is a banger so i was kinda excited to hear the rest of the album and it just didn't stick but i still appreciate how consistent their output is and the whole aesthetic they've got going on

    Love Gaerea!
    At first they didn’t resonate but after listening for a while I really started to like them. They have a more “metalcore” approach to black metal in my opinion.
    I find their “post” side to really add a dynamic element to their passion and aggression. It’s been a life lesson I’ve been learning - the ugly and the beautiful are two sides of the same coin and learning how to exist with this tension is what it means to be human.
    Vocals are actually very dynamic to me. They drip with emotion. I find the overall sound to be consistent/similar but there are so many nuances that tell an emotive story.
    Thanks for the video and sharing y’alls thoughts!

  • @thetruth4654
    @thetruth4654 12 дней назад +3

    They are black metal, but also post-metal or post-black metal.
    thank you for finally doing this band
    react to Ulcerate they had have currently put out the best metal record of 2024 with the album Cutting the Throat of God
    I love Gaerea they are so melodic jet dissonant, and there is so much passion and emotion in the music of Gaerea
    it`s like you cannot possibly not get drawn into it.

    Richard - on the subject of labels, check out Transcending Obscurity. An excellent underground (mainly but not exclusively) death metal label. Gaerea's Unsettling Whispers album actually came out on that label and they signed to SoM later.

    I love Gaerea. Pretty good band, although they call themselves black metal, the band has that "theme" at least from Black Metal, it's a quite different from what we usually expect.
    And his vocals it sounds A LOT from early metalcore from the early 2000's indeed.

  • @DrewCJuice
    @DrewCJuice 12 дней назад +1

    Solid tune! Gives me way more melodeath and metalcore vibes than BM but that's just me. Can I throw out a request for a classic "blackened metalcore" tune from Abigail Williams' original EP Legend? That EP has such a good blend of melody, driving intensity, and some really cool rythmic sections. Like Carrion Birds would be really cool or maybe From a Buried Heart.

    Nothing, within metal, is debated more than "is this actually black metal?"...
    My thoughts: Be it Norwegian, Swedish, German, Danish, Finnish or anything else, each country seems to have its own distinguishable brand of black metal.
    So, is Gaerea black metal? Yep. Portuguese black metal.
    So stoked for the album.

    I'm only commenting this to potentially help Richard - The vocals reminded me of the harsh vocalist from Bullet for my Valentine. I kept sort of waiting for the clean, almost whining clean vocalist from Bullet for my Valentine to come in during this song...

    Let me float an idea you totally can just ignore. I’m thinking it’d be fun if you had your lady come on to play your part some time, Richard, and introduce the two of you to a song/band neither of you know. Just to really mix things up.

    Yo what the hell I never expected to see gaerea on this channel. If you’re looking for another really cool and unique band I highly highly recommend checking the band CLOAK, really cool blend of genres and they have 0 weak songs across their 3 albums “invictus” is a dope song of theirs, my personal favorite is “in the darkness, the path” but that’s a more obscure song but it rules. Anyway good stuff as always fellas. They’re also a season of most band like gaerea
