I run every day 5 miles. It’s so easy once it becomes routine. Dedication to running is so rewarding but ultimately it was finding balance between running in my family life that inspires me. I have a 2 year old son who goes to my races and will know of a dad who is a runner. Not was but is. It will always be a part of me, forever my superpower. It’s a beautiful life, get out there and get you some of it.
That's pretty inspiring bodybuilding is my main thing but I'm going to start doing 20 minutes a day of cardio to get in better shape. Keep grinding bro 💪
Definitely running is honestly my sport
I do this too. I hate every minute of it except the feeling when I am done then I feel i have achieved something.
Don't you need recovery time? I started doing 3 miles everyday. But I am worried it will injure my joints.
@@emmanueljoseph2520 Every body is different but as you build that base, recovery is easier. Personally, as an older guy, I lift weights on off days and run 4-5 times per week.
As a marathon runner and television editor I just wanted to say your content is beautiful. I really appreciate the production values and the time and effort you put into this channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much, Jennifer!!
Wearing the toque indoors during the interview really distracted me.
I used to run 2 hours a day, but stopped around 2018. Now I’m in the worst shape I’ve been in over a decade and 30 minutes is a challenge. This year I challenged myself to 1000 miles. About 30 miles I’m, hoping to get stronger and hit 60 on my first month.
Check out Run the Year, it's a virtual challenge where you choose your goal (I chose 1,000) and it has a tracker app, and a cool medal at the end. Best wishes!
I never did Long runs like that but I used to do 5ks on a regular and I've noticed my eating habits are awful. If I stop running. I end up gaining like 6 pounds in a week.
GET IT! Hope you're still going. Love the dachshund pic
You need to go on fasting
Hope you are still running! ❤
“Running is an individual sport… Your goals need to be personal.”
Well said 8:20
Loved the video. I have been addicted to running lately and am currently running 15-30 miles per day. Going to wrap up this week with around 150-160 miles. I’m from the Chicagoland area too. Currently have 25 marathons under my belt at the age of 39 with a best of 2:35
beast!
Weapon
That’s super cool!!! I have bad knees so I keep runs around 8-9 miles 🤦🏻♀️😅
Wow, minimum of a half marathon every day!!
@@davepage764 My kids turned me into a morning person, so waking up at 4 am, I have plenty of time to run.
I just started my next marathon training block after a tough NYC Marathon and watching this is so inspiring! Love seeing your storytelling from your main channel translate to your other passion here!
Just came across your channel and subscribed! Great job on the editing and story telling. I've gotten close to regularly running 10+ miles a day in the past and feel that my fitness really improved. Hoping to get my weekly mileage back up to 60-70+ mile weeks as I get closer to my ultras this summer. Great job!
Nice Eric! I’m a photographer who’s followed you for quite sometime now (I’m not surprised at the quality of content lol) and it’s nice to see you run too! I’m a 47 year old wedding photographer who runs a minimum of 40km a week (every week for the last 2 years) for fitness and mental well-being!
You’re an inspiration mate, keep keepin’ on!
Awesome attitude to value progress over comparison; I struggle with that myself often. Best of luck with your running in 2023.
Man, kudos to you for pushing yourself and knocking this out! Incredible work & video!
The quality of this video was insane! Thanks for such an inspiring message
Thanks so much for watching!!
Ikr?😁
Very well thought out plan and execution. Your excellent video editing and production skills cemented the video into “epic” status. Congratulations and best of luck with your running in the future. I hope these past couple of years have been beneficial for you and your fitness.
At 68 years old, I've been running 10 a day forever.
So happy I found your channel through this messy happy! Great production value and such a wonderful message ❤
This was beautifully shot. Amazing story telling. Cheers!
Hey man. Loved the video. During the first lockdown...I ran 100 mile weeks as a challenge. Mostly doubles. Ended up running 7 consecutive 100 mile weeks. It helped so much as I was trying to navigate what was happening in this world.
Great videos, mate! Really enjoying them
Love your content. Hope to see your channel blow up very soon!
The only thing more impressive than the way you produced this very beautiful and cleverly put together video is the message... keep producing! 👍
Loved that i stumbled across your channel. So much of what you said resonated. Running takes so much time away from my family but my wife gladly entertains it because I am simply a better person when i run.
This video gave me a lot of motivation. I've been trying to run for a long time after the coup and covid. After watching your videos, I got a lot of motivation to run. thank you
I will be running my first marathon next month , this is inspiring for me .thank you for sharing
Awesome man there is something special about running! I'm training for an Ultra rn now and hit a 28 mile training run this weekend, never thought that was possible.
How did your ultra go?
love the content keep going brotha
Loved the video. Keep up the great content
awesome stuff, keep on running :) I have just recently started running and am loving it. I did my longest run tonight which was 6.5km (I'm from Australia) So in miles that would be 4 miles. Really enjoying watching content like this too. Its a new awesome world/community for me
It’s a great lifestyle. Very rewarding.
this guy deserves more subscribers guys! great content!
Your badass dude , keep going. You’re motivational !! 🤍
Great video 👏 Storytelling; Filming and Editing was great. Keep up the good work 👍
Agree
Love your video.
“This outlet is incredible, the way you feel from doing this thing that can be so monotonous is highly rewarding in so many other parts of your life. “ So inspiring that I want to start my challenge from this weekend. I think I need this outlet, during the low period of my life.
I will do it.
It's so inspiring to see how much you have progressed over the past year
Dude this was so well filmed and I loved every minute of it.
same
Currently training for a marathon- thanks so much for the inspiration! :)
A beautifully edited video! Wow!👏🏽
Congratulations and thank you for this! I needed this today.

Had to click the subscribe after this one. Great video. Thanks for the inspiring content :)
Not even 10sec in a I hit the subscribe button. I'm going to binge watch all the videos now!
Great work !!! Yes 🙌🏼 definitely you Vs you !!! I definitely cracked 1,749 Miles last year so I’m trying to hit over 2,000 this years
Nice goal!!! I'm 64yo and currently running minimum 4 miles a day for 30 days. February 4 I'm on day 9 and going strong.
I average over 7 miles a day ( approaching 5000 miles ) , I've been running non stop for just over 2 years . I'm not fast but love it 🏃♂️🏃♂️👍
I Believe You can definitely run a 2:45 marathon!!!! Great video and keep up the Great work
Very well done video!
Amazing video!! Amazing Message!
"Dodge Duck Dip Dive and Dodge!" Loved this. Great storytelling Eric. Time to do 26 miles a day!
Glad you got that reference. ;)
Amazing video!! Thank you
Great video. Going to aim for this soon
I love your story... Thank you!
Nice video. I'm heavy but with a office job trying to get fit. Bought a few good hokas, espresso machine and trying to run first 5k, 10k and maybe one day a half or full. For me running outside in NYC is much better than a treadmill. Just subscribed.
Big mileage! Keep doing your best!
Dude I’m literally so inspired to do this. Maybe I will! Amazing!
Woo what a journey!!! This was super epic frfr 💯
Shua the goat for making this project re-surface and actually come to life!
For sure
Love that you’re a CUBS fan.
love this!
i love running in chicago. this was fun to watch. what shoes do you have? (the dark green ones)
I started this challenge 19 days ago but I’ve only been running 5-6km a day. Hadn’t been running in about 2 years and was/are only training weightlifting atm.
My body is really sore but I do only have 12 days left👍
Love the music!
Great video, very inspiring, whats name of song that plays at begining of your day one run?
Great Job!
Amazing Video 🤩
3:19 I recognize that intersection on Damen/Belmont! Probably ran past you many times! Used to live just a few blocks North
well done! I used to run a short 2-4 miles a day pre-kids. Been seven years! I'm up to 3 miles a day! One week down. Couldn't be happier
Great video !! are you ever worried about injury when ramping up like this ? (- me, coming off of a tibial stress fracture)
SNAP! Literally. :) Tibia stress fracture in October after pushing myself too hard during marathon training. Shin splits. Did a half marathon event followed by a marathon event the following week. And turns out... I'm not 25 any more. I'm nearly 50. Stopped running and now trying to get back to it. Moral of the story - listen to your body. If you've got pain - don't run!
Most people can't even do 1 mile. This is insperational and well done.
I admire the fact you did this solo, I’ve done something like this, but with running friends, which makes it so much easier.
Agree. But life is better when shared with friends. I wouldn’t trade those runs for anything.
Heck yeah, brother. Kill IT! 👏
Thank you for this video! I cried when you finished! 🙏🏻
Congrats champion!!!
I did back to back 10 miles a day in July & august - pretty surreal feeling
will wave if I see you on the LFP, keep up the volume. Youre an ultra runner in the making...
You deserve more subscribers
Motivating!!!
I am on 3rd day of spontaneously running 10 miles every day (meaning I completed three 10 mile runs in three consecutive days). Only couple small things hurting a tiny bit (I am just feeling the presence of something that I was not aware of before, not really painful). I kinda wonder if it is ok for me to continue and only stop if something starts getting more worrisome.
My running volume was only about 25 miles a week up to now, but I was also walking a lot (25k steps a day, mostly brisk walks). I also started going to gym some time ago to strengthen myself and especially my Achilles which were kind of a problem in the past but seem to be ok at the moment.
Also, when I ramped up volume significantly I also backed down with intensity -- I am running now 40 seconds per mile slower, running only easy (zone 1, low zone 2) and stopped for now anything faster than that. My understanding is that most sudden injuries come from intensity rather than long term volume.
And I thought I loved to run fair play pal brilliant video
May I ask who’s the artist behind the lovely music around 3:08?
Just did my first 10miles today at 5:40min/km, one off biggest sports achievements so far! Crazy too think that 6months ago I couldn’t finish 1 mile :)
I used the covid downtime to take my running volume to a whole new level and hit my BQ. I'm much happier with that decision than sitting on the couch everyday. Also, how the heck do you run in that old Chicago Marathon shirt (the one that says CHI in big letters). That thing is so rough on me it almost took my nips off.
Hello. Your comment jumped out at me regarding BQ. After a handful of solid training buildup and marathons, I was 15-30 minutes over my BQ. So I took a different approach building up to and using volume (eventually peaking at 2x my annual volume of the previous 5 years) as my main ingredient, I qualified for Boston on a very tough marathon by almost 6 minutes faster than my cutoff time.
Just wanted to reiterate, at least from my individual experience, that "take my running volume to a whole new level" was exactly the key for me. In that year I PR'd my 10k, half marathon, and of course marathon by huge amounts!
I was nervous for a second you injured yourself in the last mile of day 30. You crushed that last day.
Dude I just started the year with minimum 5km daily averaging like 8km. Well actually from Dec 26 and Im on day 15. I expect to have the realization you had on day 20 because boy oh boy I cant continue anymore haha
so in Highschool I hated running, but I played soccer all 4 years. During covid, Im not sure what happened but I was so tired of sitting around I started running every single day. My goal for 2023 Is 600 miles, maybe 2024 will be 1000 :)
I'm in Chicago too!
Whats the name of the first song?
Cool gear bro. I need to drop about 30 more lbs to look this cool
I run 8-10 miles everyday and its not easy but like you said it is beyond rewarding. Great video and good job 👏 #moremilesbiggersmiles
NYC running during covid was so free… All streets clear!
The pooping yourself comment was too relateable
Awesome! What was your weekly mileage in the 6 wks before doing this?
Hey! I think I was only around 25-30, so not ideal for jumping up to 70, and I actually developed tendinitis later in the year, so I'm sure it wasn't the best move hahaha - I might make a follow-up to this to discuss why this wasn't the best idea in the world...
@@flobergruns Yeah...increasing mileage that abruptly is begging for an injury. I'm honestly surprised you didn't get hurt while doing it.
How were you able to avoid injury? 10miles everyday for 30days can be brutal for the body. Great cinematography by the way!
Maybe he's not pushing his limits while running at low hr. Tried by myself when I was running too fast my legs were tired next days then I start running at low hr and that's became a good thing for my legs, never felt sore or tired and I could run forever
@@AgustinAstronomy he was.
He’s on semen retention - your energy levels are crazy and you never get sore
out of curiosity, why publish this years later than filming it?
every video feels like a movie
What type of watch do you have for running?
Appears to be a Garmin.
Props - Goblin
My current run streak is 656 Half Marathons / 656 Days in a Row - all documented - zero injuries just crushing it everyday
That’s so cool!!!😃
Maybe by 2024 you'll pull a HellahGood and run coast to coast! 😄
Not opposed haha
I know 😂
What song plays in the start of the video?
Be Here Right Now
What was your biggest contributor to avoiding injuries?
Probably not going too hard every run. Sounds like he didn't get under 8:00 min/mile pace on all runs. Good sleep and good nutrition I'm sure played a part as well.
Dammit now I have this challenge on the mind. And I have several 10 mile routes that I love.
For real😂
Why did I watch this? Planning on doing a 60 day maintenance plan leading up to my next marathon training block and now I want to run 10 miles a day for the month of June 😂.
Epic
Bro this was so cool!!! And the discipline to keep a sub 8 min pace was amazing!!🫡 I’d be running 8 miles at a 10 min pace😅 thankyou for including the part about comparison!!comparing my accomplishments to others definitely steals my joy and motivation 😊
What shoes did you run in?
Hoka Rincon 2s and Nike PegasusTurbo 2s - irrelevant in a 2023 world haha
