The expression this guy gave after saying "this is the first time I got shocked" is like someone who's recounting his first love from High School, and the only time it was real.
I love our stories about Iran, my dad is from Iran and used to tell me stories about his youth all the time. He has been very ill lately and mentally not capable anymore to talk about is time there. This video has been a ray of sunshine for me in these dark times! Thank you electroboom
5:46 time travel confirm I watched almost all videos of eletroboom and if I'm right he only made 1 Jacobs ladder on his 1 million celebration How the hell did this guy knew ..???
He was talking about Mehdi's accidental creation of a Jacob's Ladder in the Lichtenberg Figures video. He turned on the transformer, and then it kept rising and popping and he went "woah woah woah woah". Then after he talked about it being lighter fuel not water and baking soda.
Back in IRAN when I was a kid my Mom never allowed me to bring my cat inside home, So I made a small home for him underneath the cooler on top of the roof. I spent most of my childhood days with my kitty on our rooftop in the shade of one of those blue boxy coolers.
Abbas Sadeghi Bajgiran I had 2 little chicks, I went to the roof and dropped them. not for them to die but train their wings. guess what. 5 months later they flied right on my shoulder like a parrot. I loved them to death, I put sugar on the ground, attracting thousands of ants and released my chicks to have a feast. they were the healthiest chicks in the neighborhood. oh I miss the old days lol
So, when you got older and learned about how electricity works for the first time, you were like "Oh, so that shit back then almost killed me, wow.... I should mess around with this stuff more often lol"
6:07 well Mehdi, its actually a thing, breadboard computers and its used to teach the basics of computer hardware architecture (ik you know it) of a CPU (mainly), and a good meter is actually a requirement for this because generally we use 74LS family IC to build them, so ensure smooth power continuity and calculating the power drops because of LEDs and also the amount of current drawn has to be accurate, so it's indeed a great thing to have a good meter
Fun story relating to the last bit there about the US power plugs. It was a Saturday morning around 8, and I was trying to sleep in. However, the crappy charger for my phone popped out of the power strip I was using. I groggily picked it up and tried to plug it in, but noticed my phone wasn't charging. So, I go to grab the thing and almost fall out of my bed as I get a hell of a jolt. Turns out that the poorly designed power strip I was using allowed me to plug in only one prong, and my thumb ended up touching the exposed prong when I went to grab it.
I somehow shocked myself when trying to plug something in in the dark, no poorly designed power strip needed I did, however, get electrocuted once when grabbing a power strip off a wet floor. Good thing my boots were completely isolated
The stories about your first and subsequent electrocution remind me so much of my own childhood. The shock wasn't as dramatic as your 220, but 120 still give you quite the shock!
My first experience was: Pressing the little red reset button on the back of my parents old CRT television. Somehow it arced some high voltage and threw my tiny baby body a full 10 feet across the room. My second experience: I took my cub scout pocket knife blade and put it across both prongs of the plug end, while it was plugged in to the wall outlet, similarly to how it was shown in the video. I swear I met god that time.... (I became a plumber...)
my cousin's PC used to have a similar but very low shocking effect due to absent ground and class y cap in power supply. because of it, he got brainwashed into having a fear of metallic USB drives... until I forced his family to ground the electronics in house
Brother, I’m electrician of 30 years and I can never stop hearing stories about people getting electrocuted fucking love it love the way you do it… You got my subscription
10 000 V is shit, because most 10 000 V sources cant give you enough current. i would touch flyback transformers (30kV) every day multiple times a day if you tell me to, but there is no way you can make me approach microwave transformer (2kV 1A)
My grandpa had an electric fence for cows, he was wearing thick rubber boots and grabbed the wire. He said 'it don't hurt' as his arm twitched a bit. Then I tried it bare footed in the damp grass. lol
In your videos it looks like more current is flowing through you then the cuircit itself. Great job 👍. I really enjoy your videos And learn something new. Thank you 😊😊.
1st time I got shocked : replacing an American plug with a UK one, don't use sticky tape to join wires (I was 10 years old, and took 220v). 2nd time: trying to fix a lightswitch, the copper was sticking out of the side of one of the wires (I didnt switch off the circuit, doh). 3rd time: while building a tesla coil I forgot to discharge the capacitors, took a hell of a jolt, my arm was thumping for a couple of days, and I'm sure it gave me arrhythmia for weeks. 4th time: Not my fault, one of the wall sockets in my kitchen was running off a separate ring, discovered this when I removed and tried to twist the wires for a new socket. not looking forward to number 5 :)
Start a RUclips channel with how you got an ElectroStatic Discharge gun (ESD gun). You'll be famous. Also, dramatically yell a phrase like "FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER"
I recently soldered a barrel connector snipped from a wall adapter to a molex adapter to power an Odroid XU4 from a computer's 5v rail. If I had a meter I would have known that the wire from the wall adapter was improperly marked. At least now I know what happens when you push 5v backwards into a single board computer, and if I were designing a single board computer, maybe I would put a rectifier on the input.
I'm going to be graduating from high school in 2 years and I want to be an electrician, I hope watching your videos will help me learn a little bit more about electricity and how it works etc.
3:49 that's exactly how I got a 220V (60Hz) shock back in 1999 when I was 9 years old. The plugs used here are exactly like that shown at 2:23 except that a lot of them have full metal pins that doesn't have that plastic area to prevent our fingers to touch them, that's how I got a electric shock when I plugged an old liquidificator (or mixer?) in the outlet, I didn't notice that my finger was touching one of the pins when I inserted the plug in the outlet.
I found your site to be funny as heck. I teach kids that don't have much are underprivileged the basics of electronics. Started out with my son's friends. While repairing a flat screen television my son's friends were so amazed to see this first hand. One young man asked if I'd show him how to do this. That's been two years ago and now I teach 25 undeprevlieg kids electronics repairs troubleshooting. I don't charge them just try to pass on the magic my father gave me. But to see these kids so pumped over a little soldier smoke made me remember when I first started. I see that you have giveaways on scopes and meters. I'm not asking for a new one. But if yu have an old scope you don't use maters that as well all I ask is before you throw them out would you consider passing them on for a good cause. I would pay the shipping. If this is something you can do. I understand if you don't keep old stuff. I do get a kick out of your videos. Again I understand if this isn't something you can do, I still watch you. God bless you and your family sir keep up the laughter. Damskipy50@gmail.com.

Hi Mr. Mehdi I am from India & love your videos they are so funny informative & brilliant.. you are great engineer & artist...keep up the good work..cheers from an engineer
I had an old Vox Scorpion guitar amplifier that would jolt me through my guitar, it didn't do it originally, but after a few years and moving it around from place to place it started doing this. I ran a wire from one of the screws on the cabinet to the screw that held the out let in the wall.
My uncle had a party once and I was around the back of the house with my cousins. We found the part of the plug your stick into the wall, one of those europlugs with two prongs. One of my cousins said it would shock me if I touched it. I said that's impossible because it's the part you plug in, not the socket. So I proceeded to demonstrate my knowledge by jamming the two prongs directly onto the palm of my hand. I got shook. I don't know how much electricity went through my palm, but it left two small scars where the prongs touched my skin. My hairstyle also got messed up. The house was powerd by a solar system.
when I was a teenager, once changing a light bulb, I had the idea to stick my finger in the base. Unfortunately I thoughts slowly than I do things and the idea was instantly executed. Mother found me with a heart failure and, fortunately, was able to somehow to launch it. She was very scared and I messed up my pants and became smarter, i think ... hope all those electric shocks was fake and you weren't hurt.
When i was 8 my dad told me to help him with the computer he was fixing. I got shocked when i picked up a power supply that was on and fainted. Russian ambulances were slow and when they arrived i was already ok and helping my dad again.
I actually got my finger stuck in my DS wall charger when I was in elementary school because the plugs are not recessed. I had a headache for a couple days afterwards...
used to have a swamp cooler that did the same thing to me when I was young. nothing compared to when I was working as a tech at a mill though. I learned over a machine to get a better look at something and grabbed a peice of iron with both hands. there was a shorted wire laying on one end that went to this machine that pulsed 10k volts. i felt like i was floating in the air.
Berner's Vlog Sorry for not responding, I work on the electronic components in cars, making light switches turn stuff on from across the house for disabled people, and making electrical "toy" tasers to sell.
The joy of the UK plugs. You can't get at the live or neutral wires unless earth is connected. The down side is that by default they fall with their pins face up, making them bare foot killers. Once you've done it, you'll never stand on a plug again.
I worked on cars for 26 years. I got to play with 3 phase full bridge rectifiers in the early days. That was when it was common to rebuild alternators ourselves instead of buying a rebuilt one from the parts store. Simply put, I got you beat by two diodes worth of full bridge rectifier experience. ;-)
When I was little I would feel a sensation between the fridge and built in oven, decided to hold a neon lamp on one leg and touch the other leg onto the oven and it would light up. Same with the dryer, everyone kept getting a shock, so I grabbed a 100watt light bulb and touched it between the dryer and the copper water pipe in ceiling above it, lit up really bright. Ended up being some grounds not attached in the main load centre.
In the restaurant I work at there is a hug freezer next to my work station that had a bad ground and was electrified. for weeks I had to be careful not to let my elbow touch the freezer or I'd get a 120 volt shock. it was a stressful situation but it kept me in line
Well, looks like you have successfully given away your meters....good.....I have to say, you are one of the most entertaining you tubers. I Love your videos, and your projects. Your antics keep me chuckling.
Hi Mehdi. I just found out that a Chinese company say they invite a system that are able to transfer the low voltage electricity (12-24V). Additionally, they say this system will be able to save tons of energy. For instance, the low voltage light bulb will save 60-80% of energy compare to regular CFLs light bulb. Also, due to the low voltage, they say the current will increase, so the light will be brighter. I wonder that if the low voltage light bulbs can actually save energy or nor. Thank you very much. By the way, your videos are amazing.
I did the same thing as mehdi when I was 10. I wanted to know what getting shocked felt like, so I held the prongs with one hand and stuck it in an outlet. It was so painful my whole arm went numb, and I jerked back across the room! Fortunately the current only went though my fingers...

Or so the legend goes.

So are north American outlets 110VAC or 120VAC? I'm confused because I've heard you say both.

Turns out he fired the amazon forest
I worked on cars for 26 years. I got to play with 3 phase full bridge rectifiers in the early days. That was when it was common to rebuild alternators ourselves instead of buying a rebuilt one from the parts store. Simply put, I got you beat by two diodes worth of full bridge rectifier experience. ;-)
"Elleectttroo VLOOOOOOOOOOOGGAHhhh....."
Wow that meter is good value, I'm a ham and have been looking for an LCR meter for a while now.

Ended up being some grounds not attached in the main load centre.
we have 240v here (european style)(best style)
hiii dude ur personality and ur videos are soo good that i almost seen all of ur videos
1:10 Mehdi was never the same
In the restaurant I work at there is a hug freezer next to my work station that had a bad ground and was electrified. for weeks I had to be careful not to let my elbow touch the freezer or I'd get a 120 volt shock. it was a stressful situation but it kept me in line
7:20 he can buy a smart gadget(smart phone etc) but don't have money to buy da meeta
Well, looks like you have successfully given away your meters....good.....I have to say, you are one of the most entertaining you tubers. I Love your videos, and your projects. Your antics keep me chuckling.
Why didn't you talk about getting 1M subscribers?
In India it's also 220 Volts. Peace...
in Pakistan too :/ :/ i wonder why asian nations use 220v volt while western uses 120v ....
In Jamaica too

That's right
I did the same thing as mehdi when I was 10. I wanted to know what getting shocked felt like, so I held the prongs with one hand and stuck it in an outlet. It was so painful my whole arm went numb, and I jerked back across the room! Fortunately the current only went though my fingers...
6:47 "weary vell"
I still haven't made my one million subscriber celebration video yet.
this guy was in for a treat
6:10 maby he had a potato computer?
2:16 just hysterical. "you don't want to know there is something wrong with your equipment, by counting the dead bodies around it." hehehe!!!
Live wire? So there is dead wire?:)
Of course.
Its very small "hole" between live wire and dead wire :D
Question: What would rubber do against electricity?
It's an excellent insulator. Standing on a rubber mat, you won't get shocked between ground.
6:34 OO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha. Love it. Simply love it. Best show so far. Keep up the good work. And thank you, boss man. Take care
