      Lol!! I too find it funny when I watched it again after getting your comment!! I guess the reason for this is I might have made a vide soon I have arrived to my office in the morning before my lecture. Before I complete the video some student might have visited my office and then went to lecture (wearing tie!!) and came back from lecture and completed the video with the red tie ON!! good observation though.. it means you have watched entire length of this video.. I'm glad if this video has helped you to understand transamination reactions.

    • @RohanSingh-my2ix
      @RohanSingh-my2ix 6 лет назад

      Dr.Mungli Can u explain how? Amino group of aspartate goes to @ketoglutarate and it becomes glutamate. So ketone group of @ketoglutarate must go to aspartate and become oxaloacetate. But u r saying dat if we label dat ketonic oxygen it will go to glutamate (not oxaloacetate). How?

  • @sanakainat4963
    @sanakainat4963 4 года назад

    Thank you for the video. Some books mention about the recipient ketoacid which gain NH3 (ammonia) from amino acid could be any among 3 ketoacids ( ketoglutartate, oxaloacetate or pyruvate) which are catalyzed by Enzyme Group transaminases. ALT and AST amino transferases are specific for reaction b/w alanine and ketoglutarate and aspartate and ketoglutarate. pls clear this confusion.
    Thankyou

    • @DrMungli
      @DrMungli  4 года назад +1

      Hello Sana, please note that transamination reaction is reversible, in all transamination reactions one thing is common that is alpha-keto glutamate and glutamate, that means if you take alanine transaminase reaction, alanine (NH3) is transferred to alpha-keto glutamate that is when alpha-keto glutamate us converted to glutamate, when this happens alanine I turn is converted to its correspond keto-acid which is pyruvate. In other way round if glutamate (NH3) undergoes transamination reaction then it transfers it’s NH3 group to pyruvate (keto-acid) so pyruvate is converted to alanine, meanwhile glutamate is converted to alpha-ketoglutarate. So this can be applied to rest 16 amino acids except lysine, threonine, and proline
