There are two ways of solving this question. One of them is taking assumed mean. So, your teacher might be referring to it. But one can proceed by any of these unless mentioned.
And if you look at the equation finally it turned itno 0.3y-0.6 because X-3 =0.3y-2.4 X=0.3y-2.4+3 (sign change when you take value to other side) Hence x=0.3y-0.6 Now put the value of y then you are GTG

Multiply.
