In just 40 minutes, this video provides a comprehensive overview of a whole semester's course, delivered with clear and direct explanations. Unlike my professor, who becomes upset when students seek clarification, this video addresses all my concerns about regression. I am grateful to Justin for creating this video and many others, as they have been immensely helpful. May God bless you, Justin, and keep you safe. Sending my respect and love from Germany.
Dude, my econometrics teacher is the same, or should I say econometrics presenter. First 4 lessons, some 6-7 hours of sticking to repeating the book and not allowing questions has been entirely fruitless. This video is excellent though.
mid-60's lady here thrown into Stats doing an MSc in psychology and getting a bit of a shock as this is my first module! THANK YOU! So helpful. I was overwhelmed before this. Fantastic teaching. I teach maths to struggling learners and really appreciate great teaching like yours. Being an expert in a subject does not necessarily equal a great teacher. Great teachers need to understand they are teaching something to people that probably don't get it! Good luck with your teaching and any other pursuits! I am off to Australia next week for a long break, love it there. I will be sharing this with my online classmates.
Hi, thank you so much for this amazing video! My stats professor spent nearly 4 hours trying to explain this, but it was nowhere near as clear as your explanation. I’m especially grateful for how you demystified the concept of degrees of freedom-it’s been a puzzle for me since my linear algebra days. Your teaching style makes complex topics so much easier to understand!
It's a shame I discovered this channel only yesterday. My final exam is tomorrow lol. You are simply amazing, everything is on point and easy to understand. Thank you!
I am no longer intimidated by these Greek letters! The thin line between complex math and useful and practical stats is dealt with elegantly. Truly grateful!
Wtf what are the odds that I have a regression lecture (that I skip to watch your content instead) 20 minutes after you upload this video? Actually insane
Sounds like you need to rewatch the video on probability 😂. All joking aside, I hope you did well in the course (or maybe used that luck to buy a winning lottery ticket).
Haha, nah i passed! Just a strange feeling to have the exact lecture i was supposed to have in person digitaly right as my actual lecture were @@TheNachoDaddy
I was literally sobbing before this video because i thought id never understand this after watching my professor's video but wow. thank you so much. I didnt even understand this using very well-known and trusted channels. I just found your channel and I'll never stop coming back for more stats and videos. I hate stats but this made me genuinely interested to learn more and have a newfound curiosity for the subject (that i never thought id have since high school_. thank you a million times.
Great video. I am an SAP consultant working in finance reporting and trying to learn ML. This is one of the best videos. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge.
My God! This is statistics to another level. The degree of freedom was really the icing on the cake for me. I have never heard it been taught like this!
2 MINS in the video and I am hooked. I am starting an analytics course and i always feared stats and regression in high school. Never knew i could learn all of this again without stress.
Regression seems like it's quantifying the philosophy of 'Gestalt' which basically says that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Science, statistics and mathematics radiate so much humility. This is evident in the regression equation which recognises that deviation from expectations is expected! But unexplained. And without this deviation, without error, the truth is incomplete. So, so beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me (and a whole lot of other people) understand the beauty of marvelous tool. I'm going to go on a sharing-spree whenever someone tells me they don't understand regression.
Iam criying after this video i just wasted 3 years on statistics and did not understand thing ... but after 40 min of this videos it all get rooted and make sense thanks always
Thanks for the new RA video. Great reboot of your first RA lesson. I'm watching for my own benefit. No academic pursuit beyond sharpening the saw. Your explanations and examples make this material really interesting and lot easier to absorb than other channels I've watch. BRAVO! zedstatistics
Wow, this is amazing - I am taking undergrad econometrics at uni and the lectures there seem to be just random (pun intended) stuff thrown together, you Sir, on the other hand, have an amazing structure and logical progression with a clear simple practical example. This video does an amazing job in less than 40 minutes on what they waffle about for 4.5 hours and still leave you confused. Thank you so much!
Thank you Justin so much for helping people in this difficult for me subject!!! 😊I have upcoming exam and I am so so thankful that I have the chance to hear your clear plain explanation. I think you are the most brilliant teacher. I had no idea of maths, statistics etc and thanks to you I am feeling so much confident day by day 😊
You are ma man! Thanks a bunch, unexpectedly landed to your channel when I was looking into statistics and love this chnnel. It is Crazy how I am in Sri Lanka and you from a different part of the World teaching me Regression, when we think about it - it's just crazy. And it is crazy how much of time is wasted over contents which are not very useful and how people lose their Intelligence in a World knowledge can be easily found. Thank you very much for this lesson. I am a self-learner, and I love knowledge as it helps understanding the world better. Hope one day you visit the beautiful Island of Sri Lanka, and I get to meet you so I can thank you in person over a coffee or dinner for the amount of effort teaching you do for us. Subscribed your channel with all notifications on. Until new contents hit the channel I will go through the old stuff. Take care. And may Allah guide you in life.
Dude I hope you never become a conspiracist, because I will happily pedal any narrative you share. You just have a gift for clarity and resolving questions intuitively. I’m a Biology/Chemistry teacher myself and I love your approach to all this! 🎉
This video is amazing. I'm learning R now without stats background it's pretty challenging. So here I came to learn basic stats. After this video I can finally understand what's lecturer is talking about now!
Thanku so so much for this great great explanation.....I was using these values (SSE, SSR, SST) since 1 year in MTech but Today only I came to know the real meaning of Linear Regression......❤❤❤❤
I love the way you explain the concepts in such a simpler way with so much clarity making it way more easier for us. I love listening to your lectures.
Man, I gotta make sure I leave you a BIG THANK YOU for your efforts and availability to share your knowledge with us. I'm new to this field and it's hard to find good "beginner-friendly" content. There's lot of videos out there. But just a few compare to yours! Thanks again! Cheers from Portugal!
Brilliant!! Thank you for the deep and reasonable, grounded in practical examples explanation and for showing the intuition of regression metrics, function and explainability logic behind degrees of freedom. Simply loved it.
I've seen several explanations of these concepts. This is the first time it's really started to click. Need to check out your other videos now. Great stuff. Thanks.
What a great explanation for how adding variables affects your model! I've never even seen this considered in any of the material I've been reading and watching when learning about regression.
Fantastic video. It gave me, a newbie in stats, a very comprehensive overview and also helped me start developing intuitive thinking around statistics.
I watched this video with some prior knowledge. It was quite refreshing and the last part about df and adjusted R² was quite useful. Thanks for the clear explanation.
25:43, SST=SSR+SSE has something to do with Ordinary Least Squares. The goal of OLS is to find the line that minimizes the sum of squared residuals which is the SSE in this video. And yes, the detailed math proof of that equation is more detailed.
The best intuitive explanation I ever had. Thank you, I know have a much better understanding of the importance of the error for a regression model and the function for the df. Thank you.
