Almost saw my mom's house when you turned in for final. When I was a teen we would anchor the family boat off the 22L threshold and watch the traffic using a Radio Shack radio to follow ATC. Dad flew a Piper Cherokee.
I've watched many of your videos and I have to say the final 10 min or so is one of the top segments from any of your videos, as you navigate the maze of KBOS and busy controller chatter. Awesome to watch! BTW, the one-hour time is a perfect length!
Best ATC chatter ever! Great stuff. I felt sorry for the ground controller at KBOS. He must have the best nerves around. Thanks much for a very enjoyable hour or so.
Learned to fly at Hawthorne airport right in the middle of the Los Angeles control zone. But back in the 50's it was a bit simpler. I went back there a few years back and it was just about like KBOS, but with a lot more airports in the area and freq. changes every few miles with Socal approach. Great fun!
I used to listen to ground at KATL a lot...I was an engineer with an engineering firm that did a lot of the engineering there. I had a permit to drive inside the perimeter. I am biased, but at KATL, things are really orderly due to the runway layout, keeps things smooth. Takeoffs on the inner 2, landings on the outer 2, the fifth runway (I was involved in that one), really used for a lot of peak overflow.
@ 0:55 I love how clean your cockpit is. No fingerprint smudges on the glass. Not a speck of dust is visible anywhere on the panel. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for keeping things so clean it makes for great video shots too.
Greg, I believe you are slowly becoming a celebrity with ATC! 390GM is becoming a household name and well deserved I might add! Absolutely loved your video since I live in NY. Maybe KJFK will be next. Try listening to their ground control. There is never a pause in the ground controllers voice!
Great job with ATC into BOS. It's a busy airport and ground instructions when single pilot just increased stress by 150%. Amazing flight and with Tower replying late made me stressed just watching. Happy flying with always tailwinds.
Apart from the local Jet Blue and Southwest, we see Hainan, Iberia, Air France, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Virgin, TAP Air Portugal, Air Europa, Air Berlin, British Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways and hear many more. That's what I call an Airport! And ATC is doing hell of a job! Must be feeling great taxiing between this mass of big ships, and you too with your proficiency are doing a great job! One of your best videos!
Greg, you have by far the most enjoyable channel to watch. The long videos are fantastic and you fill the time so well by talking through your thought process and explaining the various panel items. The premier seems like a great small jet.
Now, that's what I call landing on the numbers! Great work my friend. Looking at the plates, BOS looks similar to what ORD looked like back in the 90s, a spaghetti bowl! When they are finished at ORD (and are they ever truly finished), it will be much easier to get into and out of that airport.
love all the ATC chatter relaxes me when i'm up all night not from a job but as an x military man who served in Vietnam night time is relaxing time for me..So thankyou for the long flights
Good work on this one, Greg, busy approach and taxi to ramp. Loved it. Thanks for posting and for the record I think around an hour is a good length although if there are storms around you can make them as long as you like. Cheers!
Hi Greg! The shout out is well deserved! You are very professional and your videos are informative and educational to the point of making us all better pilots. BRAVO 👏
Actually watched Pauly’s BON flight into BOS. Your flight into LOGAN popped up afterwards and proved to be one of your very best, Greg. Nice to catch you flying eastward, lol, for a change. Beautiful videography and editing. Enjoyed every minute. Thanks!
Premier 1 Driver I honestly consider you the father of all aviation on RUclips. Keep up the good work! Your videos are hella entertaining and not only that it educates me on what to expect when I soon begin my flight training!
Great job all around! You take me to places I haven't been to yet. Knew a few people many years back who worked as ATC at the Chicago Center ZAU, and walked out in Strike. Have no idea what they are doing now, or where they are. Enjoyed this video greatly. Thank You
Yea, that was wonderful. I like the long videos as well. I had a great laugh hearing that Boston ground controller come over the speaker. Wow! Non stop crazy. Would be very hard to keep up with those instructions. I enjoy greatly, thank you.
Thanks for all that you do. I am a Massachusetts resident, and it was amazing to see and hear Logan from a vantage point that I might never see.--Especially the Exec/Private terminal.
My favorite is when P1D hand fly's the jet and does a nice bank turn like the one @ 56:00!! Love to hear the details too. Much appreciated of the time put in.
Nearly,40 minutes in this Video! Heading,to bed now will finish this in the Morning! Very, very much appreciated, and so are you for informing me of this one !! Like all the ATC,activity !!
Great video... Did that 747 take of on about a 7500 or 8000 runway???????? or did I miss something..?... must have been empty...? But great job dealing with that poor ground controller!!!! Wouldn't want his job for all the tea in Boston...lol... PS love the T shirt!!!
another great video. I wish this would have been around when I took my instrument training at Midway airport in Chicago a few years ago. Keep up the great work...
Another great video P1D really enjoyable. Next time show us when you do the walk around, should be great to see that part and the plane from the outside. Keep the videos coming. Cheers from Lisbon-Portugal.
Another great video, Greg. Thanks. The camera mount on the iPad makes me chuckle every time but love the angle it yields. I'm sitting here at KATL during a 2 hour layover, showing my wife these videos and trying to convince her we need to buy a plane.
Hi Greg, really enjoyed this video and appreciated your concentration landing at KBOS. That was a lot going on and you'd better be listening. Absolutely beautiful scenery landing on 22L. I especially enjoyed the camera views entering the info into the computer anticipating the next event. Thanks!
Your cameras and editing on the instruments shots have really improved, most of the questions I have I can answer myself if I pay attention to all of the shots like the FMS. Thanks for the time it takes to make it interesting!
Hey there Greg...been waiting to see if you were gonna be coming to BOS eventually! Great to watch the approach to Rwy 22L as you literally flew over my neighborhood. Great perspective, I've flown in and out of BOS hundreds of times over the years (in fact we're flying to TPA in the morning) but never got that view! Again, thanks for great vidoes! BTW, I agree the shout out was very cool and those KBOS controllers are something else...I listen often. Stay safe
Man oh man oh man oh.... thank goodness for all of the "traffic cops" - else this would be one huge mess. Those of you who work at these busy airports (and I mean all of you) are to be commended for what you do to help keep our airways, runways & taxiways safe. My hat is off to you(s). I just love your videos - keep 'em coming!
Hey P1D, I love your videos! It's helped me get back to aviation after a 12 year break! I'm a PPL and just passed a BFR - now I'm on instrument training! I was focused on a aviation career for most of my life until I couldn't afford it anymore. Then I fell back to my software background. Now, I'm a CEO of a software company based in South Florida (West Palm Beach area )and if you're ever in the area I would love to meet up. Thanks again for the great content and inspiring me to continue!
Awesome Tom! I am glad you picked it back up. I always tell people that are interested in flying, get the PPL even if you don't think you'll use it. Like you, circumstances might change and you'll be able to put it to use.
Fantastic video, Greg! Shout out to Alex putting in a cameo appearance in his former role as a line technician at KTYQ. The KBOS ground controller was as busy as anyone I've ever heard, and I'm still in awe. Does ATC have a reference with the capabilities of various aircraft, or do they just assume any jet can maintain certain speed (e.g. 300 KIAS in the descent in this case) at various configurations or phases of flight?
Wow that place is a madhouse! Surprised the runway isn't all chuck-holed like the rest of our roadways here in MA (west of Boston & Rte.495, of course ...). :D
Interesting that you got an altitude alert from Tower even though it looked like you were on/close to glidepath. I'm also surprised you didn't get the ROBUC Two because it seems like everyone gets that arrival. I've been towing banners up to Boston for Fenway games this summer and it's refreshing to see the view from the other side of the Prudential Center. Most days the controllers in Beantown are super chill, but there are definitely days when I can tell they're getting more than they asked for in terms of workload. Great video!
NO short videos! Think long-form. Great intro music. Fun ride-along. Thanks, Mr. Mink. You may think long vids are boring; They are not. We are all aviation enthusiasts here.
Greg, is Nellis during Red Flag as busy as Logan? Man my head is spinning. Logan Tower is a good reason buy stock in Tums and Zantac. Great video Greg, thank you !
I need to get to your level with reading back full IFR clearances without writing them like a pro lol. I can read back a clearance given in the air cuz it's usually short but I saw you read back one on the ground without writing it down and in the back of my mind I was like there is no way you didn't forget something in there haha. Thanks for sharing. Didn't know Boston ground sounded like Kennedy ground! Clear skies and tailwinds :)
Fascinating watching the Banana hunting back and forward on the MFD from 7:20. You were in FLC 234/240 mode at the time. So due to small changes in the rate of climb, first time I've noticed that. Loved the pic of you in the Viper on the boom. One of those moments when you know you are truly alive.
That was impressive. I was assigned to one of the fire stations at KMEM for a few years, and I never heard our GC that busy, even when FedEx was in the middle of a push. Only time it came close was during mishaps when we had one side of the field closed. I can imagine that the approach/landing/taxi was pushing the limit of single pilot jet ops. I wouldn't want to do it without another set of hands in the office. My flying days were with steam gages, compass and stopwatch. I would love to see more of your flight planning, and programing the FMS.
Talking about simulator a couple of years ago the Veterans Home I live in got a tour of Whiteman AFB and during that tour my roommate and I got to sit in the simulator for the B2 bomber that was very cool.
I flew corporate Jets for many years and its been many years since a flew anything. I do fly the Microsoft Flight Simulator X version all the time. I fly the Lear 45, CRJ700, 737-800 and the 747 all over the world. It is so cool to know that I'm still flying all my flights right in the proper flight envelope! Love your videos Greg!
Raymond Goral Hello! Glad to hear from a fellow flight simulator enthusiast. The Flight Simulator X sim community is alive and well. I myself fly with Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition, and have a few add-ons. If you are a regular flier I would invite you to the VATSIM air-traffic-controlled network. And if you don't have it yet, please get your hands on Pete Dowson's FSUIPC add-on for Flight Sim X. I just got it and have done sooo much with just reconfiguring my controls alone. Blue skies!
WOW, the chatter! Sympathize with you guys having to pick out ATIS over busy ATC and other aircraft talking on top. Visual ATIS down the line? Can’t be too soon. Greased 22 Greg, nice! (The longer we ride with you, the happier we are. Don’t skip your videos or SIM flights here.)
Super job!! Single pilot ops into a high traffic volume airport!! Interesting the way Boston ATC instructs aircraft when landing 22L to hold short of 27, for landing traffic!! ATC does a great job and earn every cent of their pay, especially Boston ground!!
You usually fly into the smaller airports in your videos. This must have been a very exciting experience for you to fly into Boston Logan! I have relatives in Boston and have flown into there many times. Excuse me, I didn"t fly but the airline I flew on did the job for me! You brought your "A" Game on this flight!
Hi James- I've been into Logan a few times. I don't film all my flights so you only get a small representation of what I actually do. Places I haven't landed that are on the list are JFK and SFO. I will be posting a video soon of MDW. And you can find Denver, Dallas Love, Houston and several others in my video history. Thanks for watching!!
I enjoy the videos. I have some aviation blood in me, I just enjoy watching them and seeing different areas from the sky. I wish I could do that but too late for me.
Dam there is a LOOOOOT of radio chat on this video!! This is cool!!! :-) I love it!!! and Boston look bizyyyyy!!! Again cool!!! Looks like you had fun!!
Almost saw my mom's house when you turned in for final. When I was a teen we would anchor the family boat off the 22L threshold and watch the traffic using a Radio Shack radio to follow ATC. Dad flew a Piper Cherokee.
Boston and JFK controllers are just machines. Amazing they can keep track.
That Boston ground controller must be moonlighting as a Texan cattle auctioneer! Whew!
Great comment!
LOL
lol
Jonathan Wilson Boston accent
I think he could actually handle doing both at the same time! 😂
I know...lots of radio chatter. I felt like ever time i wanted to add commentary I got run over.

These Videos are such a great learning tool for new pilots and rusty old pilots! Keep them coming!
I just love it when you shoot your main screen really close. Even better than HUD. Thx for the great videos Den
Shout out was Excellent! @35:06. P1D brings the aviation world together.
Thats what I'm all about John. Let's all hold hands and sing. :-)
Hey Greg, this is your best video yet! Thanks for the detail. Keep up the awesome work! Most enjoyable!
Thanks!
love the long vids, pretty much running on the second monitor while working
Haha, same here...;-)
@ 0:55 I love how clean your cockpit is. No fingerprint smudges on the glass. Not a speck of dust is visible anywhere on the panel. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for keeping things so clean it makes for great video shots too.

Famous is right, I see there is a Premier 1 for FSX Flight sim, and someone has a Repaint of Mr. Gregg's new paint job.
Thumbs up 👍 thanks for keeping your videos up in your retirement. You have done a fantastic job. 😊
Great job with ATC into BOS. It's a busy airport and ground instructions when single pilot just increased stress by 150%. Amazing flight and with Tower replying late made me stressed just watching. Happy flying with always tailwinds.

One of your best videos!
Another excellent trip. Thanks for inviting me along. Kudos to that Boston Ground Controller.
Love these videos. Spent 22 years in the AF, did not fly, but love planes. Amazed of how you make it look easy to fly. Keep them coming.
Thank you for your service Neal!
@@gregmink Thanks - enjoyed every one of those years
Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your flight!!! Always interesting and never boring.
Greg, you have by far the most enjoyable channel to watch. The long videos are fantastic and you fill the time so well by talking through your thought process and explaining the various panel items. The premier seems like a great small jet.
Thanks!
Shout out beginning at 35:00
1:02:34 - nice for an Irish viewer to see the two Aer Lingus aircraft on the ground at KBOS!
Now, that's what I call landing on the numbers! Great work my friend. Looking at the plates, BOS looks similar to what ORD looked like back in the 90s, a spaghetti bowl! When they are finished at ORD (and are they ever truly finished), it will be much easier to get into and out of that airport.

Much appreciated!
My hats off to that ground controller! What a fine job he was doing. Must have nerves of steel!
Great radio work!
One busy place !
Transitioned many times ASH TO ACK...
Didn't gave to comm through BOS ground...
Whewwww...
Let me know when you're coming to MHT !
1:02:48 Love to see that TAP (Air Portugal) on the ramp. Love your videos P1D, keep it coming.

I'm blushing. :-)
Great to see you fly into crazy Boston. I fly out of a small airport south called marsh field love your videos.
Great job all around! You take me to places I haven't been to yet. Knew a few people many years back who worked as ATC at the Chicago Center ZAU, and walked out in Strike. Have no idea what they are doing now, or where they are. Enjoyed this video greatly. Thank You

Thanks for all that you do.
I am a Massachusetts resident, and it was amazing to see and hear Logan from a vantage point that I might never see.--Especially the Exec/Private terminal.
Watch for the return flight. I guess there's a reason why it's called Taxachusetts. You'll see what I mean from my perspective on that video.
My favorite is when P1D hand fly's the jet and does a nice bank turn like the one @ 56:00!! Love to hear the details too. Much appreciated of the time put in.

This is the best content on youtube by far. Thanks for the good work, Greg.
Thanks!
Always enjoy a new video popping up on my feed. As always, great to see your airmanship and the Premier 1A. Always enjoy a long video too!
Another 5 ⭐️ video sir!
Impressive each and every time. Keep the same format and thanks for the video.
Be safe, Bill
Thanks Bill!
great video. love all the ATC and ground traffic. love the scenery of Boston Tarmac.
I thought the 747 takeoff was cool.
Hello ATC!!!!!!! thanks for keeping the skies safe!!!!
Bonjour, merci pour cette belle ballade. vraiment sympa d'avoir mis le plan de vol. Cordialement
What he said...
Great video... Did that 747 take of on about a 7500 or 8000 runway???????? or did I miss something..?... must have been empty...? But great job dealing with that poor ground controller!!!! Wouldn't want his job for all the tea in Boston...lol... PS love the T shirt!!!
I really don't mind watching an hour..... keep up the good work. 👍
another great video. I wish this would have been around when I took my instrument training at Midway airport in Chicago
a few years ago. Keep up the great work...
Another great video P1D really enjoyable. Next time show us when you do the walk around, should be great to see that part and the plane from the outside.
Keep the videos coming.
Cheers from Lisbon-Portugal.
Just found your channel yesterday and found this Post of my home Airport. Flew out of this Airport frequently. Thanks.....
Welcome to New England P1Driver. Hope you get chance to see Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Was there a few years back and say Yankees v. Red Sox. Wow, was that fun!
I would love to go to Fenway Park. I am not a Redsox fan but I want to go to feel the history of it.
Hey p1d! Welcome to my neck of the woods. The BOSOX call sign you heard on tower is my units H60s in Cape Cod! Thanks for stopping by!
Another great video, Greg. Thanks. The camera mount on the iPad makes me chuckle every time but love the angle it yields. I'm sitting here at KATL during a 2 hour layover, showing my wife these videos and trying to convince her we need to buy a plane.
A few more hours of layover time and I'm sure she'd be game.
Love the longer vids. Fits with my cardio sessions! Thanks and keep up the awesome work! 👍
Hi Greg, really enjoyed this video and appreciated your concentration landing at KBOS. That was a lot going on and you'd better be listening. Absolutely beautiful scenery landing on 22L. I especially enjoyed the camera views entering the info into the computer anticipating the next event. Thanks!
What an amazing view of the Emirates and Qatari 777 equipments!! Beautiful to watch all the cool liveries at Logan!
A little nerves you bet, You wouldn't have it any other way. Great job, and right on the button. Love your frequency, looking forward.
Stay safe
Thanks Joe!
Another great video. I can't imagine sitting in back when the co-pilot is open. Thanks
This is one of your best videos yet! Yeah that Boston Ground Center Guy, I've heard him on a few out-take videos, I couldn't do that job.
Awesome video, love the long format. Thanks for all the work you put into this!!
Awesome!
Another great video Greg. All the ATC was awesome.
Holy Hell! I'd bet my heart rate spiked just watching the taxi at Boston. Very stressful! Thankfully all involved were very professional.
Is it weird that I was super excited the ATC guy got some air time?
That sure looked like a new Lufthansa 748 taking off on 22R. Thanks for the obligatory spoiler shot on touching down!
The spoiler shot...my favorite for some reason.
Thanks for the vids. Very encouraging. Hope to get underway with my classes soon.
Wow, talk about having your hands full! Great job! Love the long videos!
Thank you great video, busy airspace & airport, well managed Greg!
Thanks Paul!
Wow that place is a madhouse! Surprised the runway isn't all chuck-holed like the rest of our roadways here in MA (west of Boston & Rte.495, of course ...). :D
Loved all the chatter felt as if I was in the right seat
Interesting that you got an altitude alert from Tower even though it looked like you were on/close to glidepath. I'm also surprised you didn't get the ROBUC Two because it seems like everyone gets that arrival. I've been towing banners up to Boston for Fenway games this summer and it's refreshing to see the view from the other side of the Prudential Center. No idea what the altitude alert was about.
Love seeing footage flying into my home town. Welcome to Boston.
NO short videos! Think long-form. Great intro music. Fun ride-along. Thanks, Mr. Mink. You may think long vids are boring; They are not. We are all aviation enthusiasts here.
Thanks Paul. That music at the intro was produced for P1D by another fan!
No kidding! He or she did an amazing job! Can't wait to see what occurs in your future videos. It's all fun!
Greg, is Nellis during Red Flag as busy as Logan? Man my head is spinning. Logan Tower is a good reason buy stock in Tums and Zantac. Great video Greg, thank you !
Military mass arrivals and departures require a lot less communication than what you saw there.
Spoiler alert....i get the route texted to me on my cell, so the hardest part I already know.
How did I get to premier party late?now I can't stop listening n watching...u got a great channel🤘🤘🤘
Very good video! One of your best! I really loved the shots at Boston, a joy to watch (very good audio too!). Greetings from the Netherlands...
I agree. I think this one turned out well.
Stand tall, thump the chest, chin up...yeah, that was me and I was on top of the world. Nothing better.
Awesome comment brother, kindred spirit.
That was impressive. I was assigned to one of the fire stations at KMEM for a few years, and I never heard our GC that busy, even when FedEx was in the middle of a push. I wouldn't want to do it without another set of hands in the office.
My flying days were with steam gages, compass and stopwatch. I would love to see more of your flight planning, and programing the FMS.
Yeah, I've been trying to get footage of that and having a difficult time figuring out the right camera set up.
Talking about simulator a couple of years ago the Veterans Home I live in got a tour of Whiteman AFB and during that tour my roommate and I got to sit in the simulator for the B2 bomber that was very cool.

I,just finished this one,at 2:15 pm,Sunday August 6th. 2017 ! Just,to inform you how much i,really liked it !! Keep,more Video's coming,Please !
I liked the view of the harbor on final approach.
Nice video as always
Take care
Russell Mauldin I live near the airport and when ever I used it that awws me every time it truly is beautiful
Russell Mauldin honestly every time I leave I look at it and i it makes me wished I could turn around and stay
Also for those interested, ATC assigns IAS but the radar data tag displays GS.
In my neck of the woods Greg. Awesome !!!! And thank you !!
Kudos to the controller on the ground in Boston. Holy crap that guy was non stop.
Premier 1 Driver looking forward to the MDW vid. Love flying...err...riding in there. Short and tight that airport.
I enjoy the videos. I have some aviation blood in me, I just enjoy watching them and seeing different areas from the sky. I wish I could do that but too late for me.
I'm at the kitchen table in Tennessee I feel the stress of rush hour traffic. :)
Lovely smooth landing, great video as always Greg
Thanks Steve!
Love the vids, thanks for bringing us along for the ride
Great. Appreciate the comment!
Dam there is a LOOOOOT of radio chat on this video!! This is cool!!! :-) I love it!!! and Boston look bizyyyyy!!! Again cool!!! Looks like you had fun!!
When I went back and edited the tape, I was shocked at how busy the radios were. I didn't notice it quite as much when I was flying it.
Thank you very, much, I really enjoy your videos, and thank you for let me fly with you.
Another cool video Greg. Thanks for sharing.
Oh man! Your route of flight took you just south of KSYR (my home airport). SO Close! LOL! Great video as always! Keep em comin!

Great video as usual! Looks like you flew over my neck of the woods (Finger Lakes region).
