27:40 It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him.
The missing link to this deck is obviously no Memnite or Thoughtcast on Arena. Being a huge Affinity player myself, the next best thing is Candy Trail or Witching Well. Why you ask? This deck doesnt really ever want to mulligan ever, especially on the play. You're not ALWAYS going to have an explosive start, we have to accept that. Scrying 2 for 1 mana with card draw attached to it can't be overstated. You want to get to your threats quicker, and it's never dead when you draw it, when you don't need anymore lands or early 1-2 drops, so you can keep feeding the Synthesizer. This has made the consistency in this deck HUGELY better. Springleaf Drum just isnt worth it unless you get the Ornithopter with it early, as you have no early creatures.
Candy Trail is a good suggestion! Could see it replacing some Boots perhaps. Without more untapped blue sources I don’t feel comfortable running Witching Well.
@@LegenVD Yeah man, try the Candy Trail. It helps every Arena affinity deck I play. The scry has saved me the game hundreds of times. Nothing worse then needing 1-2 more turns and drawing useless cards. EOT draw and life gain can't be overlooked either. It's really an underrated common.
Ugin's binding looks nuts tempowise.
So many videos!! Love the content man. New to magic, learnt so much from you & your format.
My fav. Part is when you reference cards and show them onscreen 😁 it's super helpful
Awesome, thank you!
i dont usually comment but please make a breya brawl deck! it was my first commander back in 2017 when i started playing magic and im so excited to have it in arena :D
Sounds like a job for the Patreon poll!

@@devil_is_a_part_timer His link is in the description of this video
Well just giving the man a comment is helping the algorithm so maybe he can find it in his heart of hearts to make your dream come true and then you can comment on every video 😂
3:13 WHO'S THAT POKÉMON!?
like anybody doesn't know at this point lmao xD
Truuue, even THAT much censoring won't hide what that card is!
You make great magic videos!
Glad you like them!
These artifact decks pop off so heavily and quickly! What do you think is the most challenging match up for this deck?
The video is a pretty good representation of some of the difficulties you face with this deck!
izzet wizards
That is, if you get random matchups. I've trying the deck out and most of what I've been facing is Wx control. SoIve got a good 40% games where I concede turn 3 to that BS sorcery that exiles all artifacts for 3 mana. I have yet to get a game where I didn't get artifact hate on the head.
@@LegenVD haha yeah I prematurely posted, it looked like you were going to sweep every one 🤭
Thank you.For New deck and fun decks.
LETS GOOOOO
I'm trying to get my fiance out of the brawl only mood she's been in. Hopefully this deck will convince her to try out 60 card formats.
They picked the best format!
Your fiance is correct
Why would she try the inferior, more expensive formats?
Just to change it up. She's played a lot of commander and brawl, but never dabbled in the others. @@metalhev3989
Man, what a banger. Epic blue deck 😗👌
Two things: I did enjoy. And I had a nice day.
47:07 I love how there's a bit of pause after the "smash". Good thing Luca realized that.
Sounds like a job for the Patreon Poll!
Kappa is a way to finish the game one you start storming off. Having a couple of copies seems optimal so you don't fizzle, and still can pack a punch with kappa into boots
I talk about it in the intro!
I think Kappa can be great in an artifact deck as an additional engine/wincon for when you don't get synthesizer (and works great with it too). However, that probably means cutting some 7 drops and Ugin's labyrinth, otherwise you will brick your hand a lot. Doing that would make the deck less explosive but also have less polarizing games where you don't draw synthesizer.
Divine Purge will be really satisfying!
I watch mtg vids on 1.5x , but I can’t with this one because I can’t keep up with what you’re drawing 😂
28:45 Our opponent didn't do a damn thing yet but might win next turn...
Imagine if that kinda stuff would've been possible when the game came out. MTG would've been laughed out of existence.
iirc correctly the Alpha rulebook didn't mention a limit to the number of copies of a card in a deck, and Channel, Lotus, and Fireball were all there... So MtG had worse back then, a consistent FTK :D
I want this informative video to be sent to all the Magic Zoomers who don't understand how BUSTED affinity for artifacts is LMAO
Awesome job as usual, Luca! Historic and Timeless are getting some INSANE upgrades!! 🔥🤘
I've also been trying Ugin's labyrinth in affinity, but with some emerge creatures as extra pitchables. I think I overcooked my food, though.
Haha, not a bad idea! If only there were cards we could Emerge for free using our 7-drops.
LSV, "Bit of a weird choice" lol.
Remember that match when the opponent, on the backfoot and starring into the eyes of defeat at the hands of LVD, graciously gave the GG before quitting the match? I don't, because that never happened even once. Sigh. I suppose it makes the players that do GG, in other videos, stand out and shine.
9:20 The guy defended the Narset that much only to replace her anyway. He must have just drawn the new one.
41:40 The Mox makes blue mana lol =p
Mox doesn't make mana without a Legend in play.
@LegenVD oh, it was amber not the metal craft one? Sorry. It's small so was hard to see. Is the metalcraft one on arena?
Edit: Mox Opal (had to look up the name)
@@OdinMagnus Indeed that's Mox Amber, you can see it better in the intro. Mox Opal is not on Arena.
@LegenVD oh OK. Yeah, strange that they don't have the metalcraft one on arena.
Just out of curiosity, do you record everyday or do you have regular 'days off'?
With new set releases it’s a lot more chaotic. Otherwise I prefer recording in batches as it’s more time efficient.
4:13 the labyrinth calls for colorless card, not colorless creature, you gave me a scare that i missplayed it earlier today in a commander game 😀
Hello, LEgenVD. Do you have any sort of replacement for Otherwordly Gaze and Consider for standard pst roation? I wanna keep playing the mentor + djinn deck
What you think can be cut off to make space for Metallic Rebuke? It would be a functional counterspell for coverage.
I was also playing around with the affinity deck and found a card from the new set which seems promising: Tamiyo meets the story circle. 1st chapter helps vs aggro and the second chapter lets you regulary discount your affinity creatures on the same turn you play Synthesizer or unsealing. the 3erd chapter helps a bit vs mill strats which struggled aggainst. What do you think about the card?
23:22 i wonder if you moved the boots twice before attackers, it would have been lethal or i am wrong ?
So... When Arna Kennerüd will show up here? I'm curious about your approach on her.
And as always, nice job.
Sounds like a job for the Patreon poll!
5:10 I didn't know Gabriel Nassif had a cow
I love these colorless decks, I wish WOTC kept a place for them in standard.
I have a specific question for @LegenVD. How are you so calm when playing against control decks and so amazing at deck building, it takes me days to make one deck while It may take you less. Can you please tell me why and how?
Most of it comes with experience! Been building decks since I opened my first booster pack twenty years ago.
@@LegenVD Oh damn. That does explain it though. Are you just use to control players? Also what was your first pack you've opened in 2004
The first pack I have ever opened was rivals of Ixalan. I am good at memories all the cards in the set but I haven't been able to figure out the cards in the other players deck yet or what their playing, only the colors of the deck.
@@devil_is_a_part_timer First pack I opened was Darksteel, where I pulled Sundering Titan! Came across Magic a few years before then already. Since I started by playing a lot of paper Magic, you quickly learn that mutual respect is more important than the outcome of a game.
@@LegenVD that's perfect advice. Thank you. Hopefully one day I play you in either paper magic or digital.
WHat's your opinion about cranial ram?
I made a video about it!
ruclips.net/video/a6he9qrzDKI/видео.html
I was gonna say. He made a great video about it
@@LegenVD oh ty didnt knew
Incoming bans for Ugin's Binding - card is OP
Would the medallions work in this deck or are they to slow?
There are too many colorless spells for it to be worth it here, but have some other decks in mind for them!
Id working Gleaming Fleshwarper as more reach/ finisher
They say ancestral recall is a pretty deece 😅
izzet wizards in 2024 makes me wanna punch my monitor
How do you defense against uw control? Divine purge without counter spell and gg
Every deck will have weaknesses!
@@LegenVD Sure, but UW Control is the Tier 1 of the format (with monoG and wizards), you must have a plan against it. I love artifacts decks, but divine purge is a problem too big for us
@@francescoiannello5380 UW Control is 3% of the meta in best of one according to the stats on Untapped, with a slightly above average winrate. Historic is diverse enough where I wouldn't be too worried about one matchup with such a small metagame share. The Wizards deck on the other hand is more prevalent (around 16% of the meta) and is a matchup you want to avoid with this deck as shown in the video.
Why not use mox amber with the new tamiyo? makes artifacts too
Maybe in a different shell. We can’t reliably cast Tamiyo on turn one in this deck, so it loses a lot of potency.
What could possibly be some upgrades for a timeless build?
Mishra's Bauble is the main one, but would rather play this in Historic do dodge Grief decks.
@@LegenVDidk what they were thinking releasing those into the Arena ecosystem. I hate it!
@@starmanda88they are thinking players will spend mythic wildcards on them
@@honestabe411 of course. They do not give an ounce of shit about the health of any formats on arena IMO.
Why use myr enforcer when there's sojourner's companion?
Not on Arena sadly.
Why is ugin on the thumbnail if he's not in the deck?
Most new cards are named after him, seemed only fitting.
