Jim went to get Olive Garden, had a nice dinner, watched a movie, and then returned to the game as LVD was still casting Wirewood Symbiotes

You're not supposed to concede during the preview events. Doesn't stop people from doing it though.

The symbiote has some pretty unsettling art for being such a helpful little dude.

Good moment for the music. When the first Symbiote hit the field I thought "oh, this is going to go for a while" and I am happy to be correct. Glorious.

Yeah it's the old cards that let you "seek" some elves or just cast them from the top of your library. MH3 didn't bring anything new to the table unfortunately =(
@@nobelphoenixthe cast from the top thing was there before in Realmwalker. Besides bringing in old cards, MH3 hasn’t done too much for Elves in terms of new cards.
@@elephantguy0790 Priest + Wirewood are legacy staples for elf ball, I think this build is strickly better with the hoof but MH3 gave it the peices needed to be a good timeless deck

I can do that with the aetherflux generator artifact deck.
The first game was unbelievable... that was the comeback of the year for the elf deck.
Putting Morning Mood over the deck going absolutely nuts was just beautiful.

I also watch Davis sometimes. Kinda sucks he waited for the whole combo and then just conceded. Content creators usually know to let the opponent hit you.

A crater hoof would still be useful regardless of your elves not having haste. The hoof itself would still get massive
True! Would've been useful in a few spots. It's rough to draw it early but maybe one copy is still worth it.

@LegenVD exactly my thought, only 1 with all that card draw it would be easy to draw it just pray they are tapped out and or don't have removal
I mean if you have enough elves out you won't need that many to attack with to trample through and crater hoof is hasted.

around12:13 he says he doesent have craterhoof but that he didnt have any other cretures that could attack, he ended up having 30 elves on the field that turn. id say swinging for 35 trample is probably good enough
I'd splash black for tyvar (the planeswalker from MoM) so the dorks can immediately tap for mana and shaman of the pack to occasionally oneshot oppos out of nowhere
When I first started playing I didn't know the rules very well and anything was basically legacy to us i remember the symbiote had a few combos
I always wonder when new staple cards are added to a deck what gets cut.
Jaspera Sentinel, Dwynen's Elite and Elvish Clancaller were the main cuts.

As someone who hasn't played mtg since cards like Grizzly Bears or Giant Octopus were a thing, I have no idea what happened in that first game lol

I thought something like music starts, lvd says "I hope opponent doesn't have mass bounce spell" and then opponent plays massive bounce spell, music scratches and he says "yeah, that's me right there"

Didn't think Disciple of Freyalise was worth it? A green MDFC that's also an Elf would seem like an obvious inclusion.
If the land were a Forest I would be more into it, but as I mention in the intro having Castle enter tapped is a disaster. And if I have to choose between the two I would take Castle, as the extra mana is very useful.

add final devastation because it gives haste and its a huge craterhoof affect
That first game was so satisfying!
Do you think one copy of Finale of Devastation could slot into this deck? It seems like the best way to buff your team and give them haste since in theory you should be able to generate 12 mana pretty easy.
Would probably play one Craterhoof at that point as it also works well with Eladamri.
Can we get a Rakdos charm in arena?

A great option is Maskwood Nexus
Plays well with Symbiote, but might be a little win-more since it still requires a developed board to shine.
Too bad Allosaurus Shepherd isn't modern legal and it's not going to be reprinted in mh3...

Im very suprised your not running the two drop that gives you 1/1 elf token aslong as u control another elf to give you more bodies with arch druid elf count.
That's one of the cards that ended up getting cut to make room for the new cards. It's certainly a consideration for this deck as there are lots of great options to choose from. In a meta where you expect a lot of hand disruption and removal I prefer including more cards that are individually powerful and Dwynen's Elite tends to be one of the weaker cards when the game doesn't entirely go according to plan.
Maskwood Nexus and Symbiote would be infinite right?! :D

Something I didn't recognize and actually don't think LegenVD did either is that Priest of Titania taps for green for ALL Elves, not just yours. In that last game since the opponent had 2 elves it was actually tapping for 2 more mana than the Archdruid was.

Is symbiote essential, what do you think? Don't like the art on it, so would want to dodge this particular card. Really excited for Rebecca Guay's Priest of Titania though (and Eladamri also looks cool, both art-wise and mechanically)!!

Yeah, Wirewood Symbiote is pretty much essential. It was already one of the staples in most Elf decks back when they were played in Legacy. Quirion Ranger could be an alternative, but it's not available in Arena.
@@LegenVD Yeah, it kind of does (now that I watched some)... Freyalise (the planeswalker) is probably much slower, while Indtruder Alarm is probably better, but Timeless-only for Arena.

One of Maskwood Nexus so you can bounce your Symbiotes and have infinite mana/seeks/card draw? Throw in Thoracle for good measure :D
I hope they give is allurn and recycle, I would love to build my old elf burn deck. Lol
