I just wanna say I've been watching your videos for a long time and I want to give props to Charlotte for the genuine effort and enthusiasm that she has developed to the part where she's becoming as natural and good at doing this as Shawn who has been an absolute tv-quality presenter for so many years. Really gr8 duo, shes really grown into this now, and the best decision you ever made to focus on you just you two, as it really has fleshed out Charlotte's talent for this and it's been lovely to see.

I absolutely love the new theming on The curse at Alton Manor. The atmosphere, the costumes, the RC baby carriage. I love how they used the Crypt as the entrance to the ride. Fantastic stuff, I can only hope they keep some of the actors around the queueline moving forward! Can't wait to visit the park again soon. Great vlog as always both! 😃 🎢 👻

Surprised you didn't hear it, but one of the new announcements on the approach to the waterfalls on the CRR says "time to face those waterfalls head on!". Why would they put that there if the waterfalls weren't returning? I think they'll return in the summer once the weather gets warmer!

Been waiting for this one! Agree that the retro squad needs to go now. Seems the park is pumping lots of investment into new projects and even things such as the lighting so hopefully we will see more improvements coming soon. Absolutely stunning theming from the Ride, the SFX and VFX are incredible. This ride definitely didn't disappoint. If this is the level Alton towers is getting to on theming then this park definitely has an Amazing future it really makes you think what Project Horizon is gonna look like

I used to go to Alton Towers as a kid at least twice a year with my family in the 80s and early 90s. Lots of memories of rides opening and things like the monorail being built, I was obsessed with Alton Towers as a kid! Last time I was there was in 1998 when Oblivion opened, as I then moved out and it's a bit of a pain to get to from London when you don't have a car, I've been meaning to do a hotel stay one year with my daughter for years but haven't got round to it. However watching this video make me just book a train ticket, taxi and park ticket for this Wednesday so I'm coming to Alton Towers on my own for one day, lets see how much has changed in 25 years!
Network engineer here, I was there on Saturday and noticed that they have installed new WiFi access points all over the park, there are tons of them all over the place, they are high quality devices rated for very high capacity traffic. Seems like they are preparing for public Wi-Fi in the park. This will have been a massive investment for the park, as the cabling and work needed for these devices is expensive and time consuming. Great to see!

I’ve been once before last Easter and I’m going again this Easter I can’t wait to ride the smiler again
I experience the curse at Alton manor today and OMG it is amazing the amount the look at and the atmosphere in there is incredible. The two John’s have done a fantastic job in just the space of 8 months and I am so glad the weird tunnel thing is just amazing. Overall I will give it a 8/10 if they filled the dead spots it would be a 10/10

We went today and rode the Alton Manor, we were massively underwhelmed, though we aren't avid theme park fans and did not anticipate the ride, or even realise it had such an uplift. Watching your enthusiasm for the ride and theming has made me wonder if we took it for granted really and didn'ty take the time to appreciate the effort into it.
im so excited for the start of the next season that im gonna binge some vlogs in prep! cant wait for your 2024 vlog!

Enjoyed our visit yesterday and managed 4 rides on Curse. Every ride I saw something new and I think it’s going to take a lot of re rides to take it all in. Music and audio in there is awesome though.
Like I said park looks a little tired in places, smiler in particular looked dirty. Retrosquad absolutely has to go now.

Haha the multiple cheers were some of us cheering whenever they opened the ride doors and when they closed them we all went "ohhhh". Great atmosphere!

I’ve said to for the past 3 years now, but I’d love for Alton to do 3/4 back to back seasons of a new flat ride each year, proper built in with tons of theming. I think it could work out quite well for them.

You hear the new river rapid audio says “prepare for water falls” the app mentions waterfalls on the description as well. Still presume they’re coming back.

When I was at Alton Towers I didn’t notice the new speakers or anything else apart from the new flooring but I mostly noticed the Phalanx dude guarding both of them and apparently I found out that the pre show was spotted playing on the tv
Wow 🤩 It’s great to see that Alton Towers have kept the original spookiness formal glory theming from Duel with additional elements features throughout including the audio that enhances the spooky eery atmospheric vibe experiences, Alton Towers have gone way above beyond with their impressive major projects working progress, I’m really excited but confused right now with mixed information with the new attraction The curse, some people are saying it’s family friendly others are saying it’s the ride just for adult with devil evil content entertainment hmm 🤔 if you can Shawn please can you clarify this, I trust you as your a theme park enthusiast with so much knowledge and experience cheers 🥂 Shawn great vlog as always

I genuinely think they could have included the retro squad rides and integrated it properly into theming of the park. They could have had a new section of the park that they made look old and rundown, but with old looking neon signs and 80s colours and actually put up a few of the temp rides with a bit of faux rusting and weather damage and themed it around an abandoned fairground semi reclaimed by nature, sort of similar to the dark forest
When I was at the front waiting to go in one of the team said there’s still a few more special effects to go in that didn’t get completed in time so I’m sure this great attraction will only get better!

Omg the queue line, Took me right back to 1992. HH opened on my first trip to Alton towers when I was little I remember reading all the grave stones with my bros! wild to see the full queue line open again. So sad to miss the opening day but my girl friend was on call at the hospital, we are looking forward to going together soon!

I've not heard of new divisional director Bianca before, but from what I'm seeing in the park there's definitely some changes going on. New management is maybe just the shot in the arm Alton Towers needs.

Hi both, it was nice to chat with you while in the curse queue. Re rapids, did you notice how big the speakers were either end of the waterfalls when compared to the rest? Must be to overcome the noise of the falls. A sign that the waterfalls are returning.

Really exciting to see the restoration and evolution of Gloomy Wood and The Haunted House/Alton Manor - and I don’t think Alton or Merlin care a bit what we think, but we aren’t going back until at least 2025 when the new indoor rollercoaster opens and they lose the fairground rides. Alton Towers, you’re a fabulous park that has given me so many awesome memories so please, GET IT SORTED or at least communicate your plans!

I absolutely loved The Curse At Alton Manor amazing themeing! , me and my mum went on it and I loved it, it was quite fast aswell and while I was in the queue I spotted Shawn and Charlotte but I was a bit to far away to talk to them but i'm just happy I got to see them :)
The beauty, immersion and quality of Curse at Alton Manor and then, moments later in the vlog - Retro Squad. Alton Towers really is a crazy, inconsistent hotch-potch at the moment, isn't it...! Still - fingers crossed for the future under new leadership!

Went a week ago, here is what was up
- sky ride still closed
- Curse at Altton Manor was closed all day
- The waterfalls + all water features were running at katanga canyon
- nemesis has had tons of updates
- Hex still closed
- something was going on between the dungeons and gangsta granny, project horizon construction maybe??
- The towers and the gardens are still closed off to the public
Sad so much stuff was closed however I hope they make up for this in the future with new upgrades and rides being introduced

So I'm from America and thoroughly love this channel. All I can say is, this attraction sounds beautifully terrifying, and you all know better than I do with this attraction's history. Still, I would love to visit Alton Towers one day.

We was waiting down the front as we didn't fancy waiting down by runaway mine train. We cheered because they kept opening the doors and then closing them for press photos. I did see you two in the Shop and thought it was lovely how you waited around to chat with your fans. Didn't get a chance to stop for a chat though. Me and my girlfriend managed to get a Solo ride on wickerman though as they needed to add a train but we was the only ones left in the station. Everyone in line must have been really confused why there was just two of us on the ride while it was a 80 min wait :D I loved The curse at alton manor though. the pre show is really good! Also a massive improvement in Audio throughout the ride. Oh Also katanga canyon... on the Sunday they changed the path audio so its in sync with the rapids audio.

I’m sorry, I’m a coaster freak but hex does it for me, iv not been to Alton towers for a long time, last time I went was when Rita was launched, but I will never forget when when I was a small lad( I’m 36 now) and I went on hex. The theme and ride was just bliss.
