I remember I used to be an atheist and I used to always make fun of Christians and now I’m glad I found god in my heart and i found peace in my life ❤️
That is incredible! I'm so glad to know that you "heard Him" and responded. The world is a bit better for every person who finds the Savior, and finds peace. Thanks for your comment.
Fear not for you did not commit those trespasses on your neighbor, for satan works through thee in many ways other than that. The important part is to be better and always ready scripture and the follow the beatitudes. Listen to Jesus’s words for they will deliver you from the depths.
Hi @@MSBowen-pk6ww, many people are unaware that there are living apostles today, but we (as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) believe that Christ has re-founded HIs church after a falling away, based on a foundation of prophets and apostles just as he did at the time of His ministry. The apostles are Special Witnesses of the Savior. I would invite you to go to ChurchofJesusChrist.org and click on General Conference. Twice a year the apostles and other leaders of Christ's church speak to the world. As a Christian, I believe you will love hearing from these servents and witnesses of Jesus Christ.
I don't know why, but that quote about how its easier to hear someone whispering when you're closer to them really touched me. Thank you so much for sharing, Elder Renlund!
In D&C 84, the Lord teaches that the one distinguishing characteristic of the righteous is that they will listen to the voice of the Spirit. The wicked won’t. Thank you Elder Renlund for being so transparent in this video. Thank you for reminding us of the need to cultivate the spirit every day in our lives in order to hear the voice of the Lord. 47 And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father. 51 For whoso cometh not unto me is under the bondage of sin. 52 And whoso receiveth not my voice is not acquainted with my voice, and is not of me. 53 And by this you may know the righteous from the wicked. . .
It starts in the small things. A lack of the small things can lead to big holes in our testimony. And in the small things, we can have our testimony become big again.
I started the video with reading the text as you were speaking, then I laid my eyes on your eyes and the emotion in your eyes as you spoke warmed my heart and I could feel how real your testimony was. Thank you for sharing such an intimate moment that you had with the lord.
In a very practical sense it's clear that we do make incorrect choices at times, and the blessings of repentance are always available to us, but this is a great statement about how seemingly small choices are still important. I know that there have been many times in my own past when things could have gone much worse, and I'm grateful for all of the positive influences in my life that helped me.
Elder Dale G. Renlund is my favorite apostle although we shouldn't have one. Since he was a seventy, he always recalled this experience. Before as a newly returned from my mission, I did experience what he experience. I am grateful that he was too honest to share that message. It is a wake up call for us that no matter how hectic our schedule is, no matter what status in life we're in, we shouldn't let the adversary prevail in our life. My love from the Philippines ♥️💞
Thank you for sharing Bro Renlund. Yes, it takes effort in and amongst the busyness of life, and the fatigue of the mind and body to strive to have his spirit to be with us. I know Heavenly Father is touched when he sees his children pressing on despite the challenges. This is a beautiful reminder because this happens to all of us ❤️
I've had a struggle to get dressed in Sunday clothes, during this COVID thing, just to attend the Zoom meeting for Sacrament. But I have a strong testimony of the things that are right. Today, I wanted to stay in bed and read and not get up and get dressed for "church". But I made myself do "what is right." Get dressed, attend Sacrament meeting on Zoom. There was a talk during that meeting that really lifted my spirits and I am so glad, once again, that I listened to the spirit in me saying "get dressed for Sacrament Meeting." Later my husband can prepare the Sacrament and we can celebrate that.
These private, personal choices to follow the spirit or the natural man are pivotal in our progress. I remember a time when I thought the gospel was very simple and I understood enough. My study slackened for years, and so did my testimony. What a wasted opportunity to learn. My pride stopped me from learning. Humility is a great teacher. Thank you for sharing Elder Renlund. I'm glad you had the humility to see and make changes.
Thank you for that testimony. I love the "like any whisper, the closer you are the easier it is to hear." You always say things that make me stop and reflect and say to myself, "Duh! That makes total sense! " Love you Elder Renlund!
Thank you Elder Renlund for your testimony! You made me realize that if are closer to one who speaks quietly, the more we can hear them . The further away we are, the less we will hear. And so it is with the Lord. Like you, I also have found that as I move closer to my Savior and try to become like Him, I can hear the still small voice of His Spirit. But when I get busy and distracted, I distance myself from Him...and can't hear the voice of the Spirit...because the distractions of the world drown out the still small voice. You are awesome!!
Oh my goodness thank you for that testimony. I have been enticed across the thin line that divides heaven and hell. I am reading the Book of Mormon again, and getting more out of it than I ever have in 34 years of membership.
I have been passing through a similar experience in my life, and I felt so much encouragement knowing that an apostle of Lord was once making the same mistakes as I. And he is right, After just two short weeks of striving to do what right, I already have my "zeal " back!
That “ZEAL”. It reminds me of the saying, “you don’t know how good you have it until it’s gone.” I humbly admit that I know all too well of recognizing the loss of ZEAL in finding joy in doing the things I know that invite the Spirit of the Lord and that are pleasing to our Father in heaven. What a joy it is to have it back! Thank you for sharing your testimony Elder Renlund. 💗
I am currently in my final years of university doing mechanical engineering so this really resonated with me. I am often so busy and stressed that it is difficult to remain focused on Heavenly Father. But I find as I make the effort to do what I can, I am always blessed and helped - much more than what I deserve!
Thank you for reminding us of the power of prayer and God's Word has! What a much needed message! So many families are exhausted. I have been feeling like there's a never ending demand placed on me as a distance teacher. Parents and students are feeling it, too. Data, data, data! Meanwhile there's the ones who can't step up, catch up, or log in. I just love and help them all till there's nothing left. When you're in high demand The days start to blur Who, best, does understand? Pray and read His word!
Kelly, I pray that everyone experiencing exhaustion for so many reasons, will feel peace and find joy in beautiful moments and grow closer to the Lord in spite of adversity. Thanks for being out there sharing love.
Hey Elder Renlund. With the gift of discernment I know the differences between the whisperings in the library and the whisperings of the Spirit. There were a handful of Sunday's that I "skipped" Church and I did "feel" as though I didn't miss anything. However there were a handful of Sunday's when I missed my Ward's Sacrament Meeting and felt that I must attend Sacrament Meeting today somewhere👻Praying is a great blessing we have been given, and without the gift of Church to compliment that blessing we would be lost. Sincerely🖖😇
It is so easy to get caught up in anger with what we are seeing in the world today. Even if we are correct in our viewpoints if we let anger and animosity towards those on a different path who see things differently dominate our hearts and minds we lose. We lose compassion, we lose love, and ultimately lose the Spirit until we can humble ourselves and rid our hearts of those evils. One of the most amazing things Christ did on this earth was to have compassion and love for his enemies who were literally trying to destroy his life. And we have a tendency to let hatred and anger fester over trivial differences in the grand scheme of things.
What a great example that not finding joy in something (taking a nap) can be a great blessing. What really matters is that we are on the right path since that's what leads us to true and lasting joy.
Great message! I love attending church, taking the sacrament, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I hear Him as I read the Book of Mormon and as I am still and ponder. I feel I gain more thoughts of inspiration as I get out of my comfort zone and share my talents and serve God's children.
Thank you for shearing us & i am blessed after attending and reading for book of Mormon .it is light and clear to taking for understanding about the Jesus Christ savior .i have full testimony about Jesus and book of Mormon what thy did on my self . by this case simply i prepare my spiritual book .
We are finally back in church in our stake, but peace is available in our lives everyday even if life has disappointments. I pray we can all seek that peace as Elder Renlund did, by repenting and making and keeping covenants. I pray you will feel peace and love soon and give it everywhere you go. You are a light more than you know.
I’m so grateful that you made the choices to be like Him that you could share that example with us to teach and minister through the spirit. I feel encouraged to be like Him because of your message.
I did not think to see this video, but I felt doing it, listening to it, it made me feel that leaders are children of God, who have gone through situations similar to ours, but have exercised faith to act and choose the path to discipleship. It gives me hope that I too can take those simple but sincere steps of faith to become more like the savior Jesus Christ
Beautiful. I find those moments of decision often come so quietly, it’s easy to rationalize them away. But together, tiny moments form the mosaic of our lives, so yes, even little decisions of priorities and purposes matter significantly.
Wonderful testimony!! Thank you! I have to be in quarantine for a few weeks and I'll miss church again! I realize I take church for granted! I need to do things at home to help my testimony!
I want to deeply thank you for your openness and willingness to share your personal experience. It's powerful and inspiring to hear how others overcome true-life challenges. I am grateful for your humanity as well your divinely-called leadership. 💕 #hearhim
I have had similar experiences in this time of COVID-19, where doing missionary work or going to church has lost a little zeal in my life. Thank you, Elder Renlund, for reminding me to keep that zeal!
Hearing Jesus Christ can be very difficult in this day and age, but by following him, we can grow stronger, be kinder, and learn more, and these blessings can come in many forms, but they are meant to help us no matter what problem arises.
This was such an answer to prayers for me. I am preparing to go to PA school, and one of my greatest concerns has been how to continue to make time to nurture my testimony under the rigorous demands of PA school. Times aren't getting any easier, and I want to be on the Lord's errand regardless of the difficulties of our day. Thank you Elder Renlund for sharing this video and helping me find answers to my questions.
Es lo que necesitaba escuchar y compartir con mi hija hoy,ya que no desea participar más en la Iglesia. Gracias por mostrar que a todos puede pasarnos.
I love it when he uses the word: ZEAL It made me ask myself if I have a zeal for spiritual things. The zeal is what helps me know if I do or don't have the spirit with me. If I lose the zeal... I start losing the spirit.
I love this so much. Thank you so much for your story!!! I love hearing personal experiences from the 12 and presidency. It feels more real and personal. This is simply special and helps me so much.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who allows us to learn from our choices and is always waiting for us to turn to Him. I loved what you said about it being about the private acts of devotion. Even I can work on those things.
Amen!! Hearing voices though... Has to be different than other mental health tribulations... It is nice to have a safe spiritual place to share/experience promptings!! Blessed be!! Brother Lightcap :)
I remember I used to be an atheist and I used to always make fun of Christians and now I’m glad I found god in my heart and i found peace in my life ❤️
That is wonderful. So glad you feel peace especially in these trying times!
And God is happy to hear from his beloved child!🙏♥️
That is incredible! I'm so glad to know that you "heard Him" and responded. The world is a bit better for every person who finds the Savior, and finds peace. Thanks for your comment.
Me too. Our Father is so good to us.
Fear not for you did not commit those trespasses on your neighbor, for satan works through thee in many ways other than that. The important part is to be better and always ready scripture and the follow the beatitudes. Listen to Jesus’s words for they will deliver you from the depths.
Thanks, Elder Renlund, for being so open and honest and committed to follow Jesus Christ. I can tell how much you love Him.
Thank you Elder Renlund for being so real and sincere! Your experience and testimony touched me deeply.
I love how honest, sincere, and real this is. It has a great message that can inspire all to never loose track of the joy that the gospel brings!
Love hearing the apostles share about their everyday lives and challenges, and how simple decisions and commitments affected their future. Thank you!

It’s cool to see how God created a new heart in Elder Renlund and it made him even more moldable ❤️
Elder Renlund is always such a tremendous example of faith and truth.
In D&C 84, the Lord teaches that the one distinguishing characteristic of the righteous is that they will listen to the voice of the Spirit. The wicked won’t. It starts in the small things. A lack of the small things can lead to big holes in our testimony. And in the small things, we can have our testimony become big again.

I can attest to what Elder Renlund is saying here. As we make goals and stick to them, we can see miraculous changes in our lives.
Yes, we have to make good decisions😌
Thank you for this testimony🙏
I take my naps at church. The best of both worlds
