Thank you President Oaks. We had our last meal with a sweet sister missionary last night in our home as she is leaving mission field after serving the Lord with honor and complete dedication. As our dear friend was saying to closing prayer, I had the impression to give her an exact $100 and as soon as the prayer was done. I touched my husband hand and said, I’m going to give her $100. He mentioned to me later on in the evening that the look on my face told him, that I had an impression. I love that our Father in Heaven can guide us to helping others and at times we have no control over, what’s happening or how we are supposed to help, but when we do His will all is done. The blessing gets pour upon us more than we can handle and it’s the grace and mercy of our divine Father. May we all have the eyes to see between truth and error, ears to hear the words of God and the tongue to confuse that Jesus is the Christ. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ amen
This was one of the most remarkable messages I have heard in some time, and I am in awe of the craftsmanship, detail, and commanding beauty of this timeless inspiration message. Thank you again.
I was prompted to sit next to this women in the singles ward in chapel. No one else was there. I could have sat anywhere. We chatted. She had just joined the church and moved from home. I helped her get settled in r.s. I left a week later for my mission. When I came back I found out she got married in the Temple. I got to see her again and she said she had felt so alone and confused and if I hadn't sat with her that day she probably would have never gone back. I'm not bragging but grateful that the spirit was stronger than my own shyness that day.
The Lord was concerned for ONE youth in the stake, and inspired President Oaks to deliver a message to him. Truly an instance of leaving the 90 and 9 and helping the one.
Also a good reminder that strange topics for sacrament talks aren't bad, they just might be meant for someone specific that the Lord is trying to reach.
Thank you so much. I've had this happen to me before. Talking to my dad while he was drunk last year. The words that were put into me by the spirit helped my dad put away drinking and move forward with his life even when things were not great.
I know I can always receive the best legal and constitutional doctrines from President Oaks, one of the greatest legal/spiritual minds in our world's history!
Years ago, I was asked to speak in Sacrament meeting for Father's day. I don't have a good relationship with my father, I never felt so inadequate to speak on a topic. I cried about it for days before that Sunday. On the day of the meeting, I felt a really strong impression to talk about the role of fathers in the home and how much the family suffers when dad is not present. I spoke in general terms as to not overshare my family's business to everyone. I testified of the proclamation of the family, and what an inspired document it is. I talked about how most social problems would go away if people would abide by its principals. I remember being carried away by the Spirit as I spoke, the words were just pouring out of my mouth. The steak president was present at that meeting, he came up to me afterwards and thanked me for saying those words. He said he felt for a while the ward needed to be reminded of the things I talked about, having the words coming from a sister was even more impactful. I started crying right there, to my embarrassment. He took me to the Bishop's office and I poured my heart out to him. Poor Steak President lol. He was really sweet and understanding though. Thank you Pres. Oaks for your words of encouragement and your testimony. We love you, pray for you, and sustain you.
You were brave talking about something that hurts you. I felt a good spirit while reading your words. Thank you for sharing, I also had to hear these words. ♥️
I also gave a talk, but in Sacrament meeting in our Ward. I also was not close to my Dad, but I talked about my sweet Husband and the wonderful Dad he was to all of his children. When I used him as my example the words just poured out of my mouth and I received so may thanks afterward about how good the talk was. I had prayed that I would say what the Lord wanted me to say and by using one of His willing servants as an example I feel like I did what He wanted me to do. My sweet Husband is now beyond the veil and still doing what the Lord wants. I miss him every day and know that we will be together again when the time is right.
Tears of understanding come from my heart to yours. There is such a yearning loneliness being in a home where parents don't seem to be in tune to parenthood. I have found great gratitude knowing that Heavenly Father put people in my life, "Church Leaders and others" let me see by example, the importance of a closely and sincere comunication with our Savior. I was nurtured greatly. I think of the scripture "lean not on the arm of flesh, lean on the Savior.
I can't say ENOUGH about how much I LOVE Dallin H. Oaks! In my (darker) past, he would've TERRIFIED me, but in my restored present his words and even his smile bring hope, joy, and strength to my soul😇 He is DEFINITELY chosen of God to help Pres. Nelson and Henry B. Eyring lead our world. Thank you Father, for such loving, intelligent, Spirit-filled leaders💗🤍🙏🏻
I feel the same. there are many apostles who I cringed listening to (in my darker past) that now I find enjoyable. Amazing what the Atonement can do and the witness of the spirit.
Love being part of this. Today I feel the “mighty winds” of you know who blowing, trying to shake my foundation. I’m thankful before the Lord for his messengers
A long time ago, I was driving along the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey. As soon as I saw a bicycle wheel on the side of the road, I received an overwhelming feeling to stop and pick it up. At first, I was incredulous and dismissed the thought. It got stronger and stronger until I went back to retrieve it in order to stop the impulses I was feeling. "Fine!" I said to myself. "Now, what am I going to do with this wheel?" A few minutes later, as I came up to a rest area, I saw an unmistakable pair of missionaries contemplating the bicycle rack on the back of their car. Imagine their and my surprise when I pulled in behind them and said: "Are you wondering what happened to your wheel?" I had really heard Him loud and clear!
My sister had me stealing so she could send her boy friend care packages in Vietnam, I couldn't get out of it myself but one day the lord told me that if I walked out of the store right then I would be caught. I said thank you and walked out of the store and that ended a bad friendship and the need to steal for my older sister. I was ever and always grateful to the lord and holy ghost corn the help.
Thank you elder Oaks, my island st vincent volcano has recently erupted and I am now living in a shelter listening to your talk has help me to make up my mind about a few things one of them is to leave this shelter tomorrow, Thank you God bless
Just remember all the times Thomas S. Monsen spoke about promptings and how even though it interfered with his schedule, Tom acted on it. I sure miss that man. Thanks Elder Oaks from a person out in the eastern Utah living among your cousins.
I love this and believe in this principal with my whole heart. ♥️ One time I saw a man walking on the side of the road on my way home from work one evening. I felt a feeling of peace tell me I should offer him a ride, so I did. He was so touched by my kindness, it was something he really needed at that time in his life. I was able to share with him Gods love for him. My testimony of God knowing him and his needs, as well as my kind actions and words, allowed God to touch his soul and help this man feel loved. I could have driven by, or rationalized that this was way too dangerous, but this feeling of peace accompanied with the grace of God helped me to quickly act and experience a miracle in the life of a stranger. Much love brothers and sisters in Christ. Follow Jesus, it truly is the only way to fulfilling peace in this life and joy in the life to come.
I was a convert to the church, when I was 45! I joined the church in Alaska! So Dallin H Oaks was my favorite apostle, having a cousin of his in our ward there in Alaska… Well, I didn’t know really any of the other people/apostles at all, not knowing Dallin H Oaks at the beginning either, but I learned about him! And I listened! Such a powerful speaker!
Thank you president Oaks for the inspiring words. Those words can be spoken everyday. It surely would help someone. I'm very grateful for our prophet and the 12 apostles that lead the church, the Church of Jesus Christ. With the leadership of Jesus Christ we can't go wrong if we follow all the council . I'm grateful to be apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it is a great blessing. I would hope and pray many of those who have left the church would come back and receive all of the blessings the Lord has in store for them God bless their lives. .
I remember in my home branch..in case of emergency, when the teacher or the speaker in Sunday's school could not attend i am the one who call for a rescue..and sometimes i don't know of what i can talk or how can i prepare but i always trust in Gods spirit to directly tell me or teach me of what i can say or what i can teach... then i don't know how can i start but as my mouth start to say a word, the word continue to comes in my mind that sometimes when i finish my talk or my teaching.. i try to remember what i talk or what i teach.. yes i remeber it but i cannot remember of whence part of my talk or teaching i use that words.. but what i know is that even me in my hearth i learn from my own teaching and in my own speach.. and that things i testify the the scripture says don't worry of what you would teach or what you would say, and that is true because God will put His words it in our hearts and in our mind..and that's the spirit of God.. that's why i know truly that God do His work in our church the Church of Jesus Christ at the Latter Day Saints..
Thank you for this message. I received a definite impression from the spirit many years ago and acted upon it and was subsequently excommunicated because I would not deny receiving the message. Today, your words (and world events) have verified that message I received 33 years ago.

These moments of following prompting are so amazing, unusual, and beautiful. I know I have followed a prompting when I have said things to people that I can hardly remember after what I said.
The spirit is the greatest gift we can have in this life. It doesn’t matter where you are, if you have His spirit with you, even if you’re scared or hurt or lonely, you know that you will be okay. You just have to allow Him to be in your life. Let Heavenly Father know you want to follow Him, in prayer and in deed. He will bless you with more than you ever felt worthy of, because He really loves you.
I felt the Holy Spirit testifiying to me that the way President Dallin H. Oaks hears The Lord Jesus Christ is true. Thank you so much for nurishing our faith by making these videos.
Thank you for the great counsel! Never suppress a generous thought. Often these impressions come to me by thinking of someone's name. So grateful to be guided by the Holy Spirit.
That is a beautiful example of this principle. Thank you for sharing with us. I believe the Gift of the Holy Spirit is truly one of God’s greatest blessings to us in mortality.
Thank you President Oaks, I have been praying for Heavenly Father to help me to be strong and follow the promptings I have been receiving about moving and this message is like a direct answer to those prayers. I felt I needed confirmation that I was indeed doing the right thing in moving across the country. While listening to your message a confirming witness came that the promptings I have been receiving are indeed the guidance of a loving Heavenly Father. He needs me elsewhere and I will go!
Thank you President Oaks! I am practicing this in my own life and find this council to be true! I hear Him by spending my time meaningfully, and prayerfully. I hear Him by seeking opportunities every day, to read and study scriptures, listen to uplifting music, listen to the words of prophets and apostles and listening for the promptings of the spirit. Working to increase my faith each day and turn my heart and thoughts toward my Savior. ❤
My first impression came to me that this short wonderful message is to prepare us one day, in the not so distant future, for a prophet called President Oaks.
I've been away from the church for a few years now due to falling my back to my alcoholism for some strange reason tonight I thought to look up the Mormon message and stumbled across this video and this message hit home right next to me is my bedroom draw and I remember I was left a number from an elder to text them but this was many months ago now and the thought popped in my mind to text the number back. If that's not the spirit calling I don't know what is? A calling to go back to church ⛪ 🙏 to repent once again. Whilst I was in church I was happy and sober but once I left I went back to my dark ways. I feel this message is a calling.
Hi @K W, thanks for your comment and for sharing your feelings. As Elder Holland, a leader in the Church, has taught, "...however many mistakes you feel you have made... or distance from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ's Atonement shines." (See this video for the full quote from Elder Holland: bit.ly/3bRwxBT) Remember that none of us are perfect, we all fall short and need the grace of Jesus Christ. Our Heavenly Father loves you and will forgive you as many times as you choose to believe and repent. Change is possible! Reach out to our Heavenly Father in prayer to share your hopes and fears, and begin seeking help from your local Church leaders. You can start by contacting the missionaries or finding a Sunday worship service near you here: www.comeuntochrist.org/contact-us You are missed and loved, and we hope to see you soon!In the words of Elder Uchtdorf, please come back. We need you! Know you are always welcome and loved. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/general-conference/2018/10/believe-love-do?lang=eng

I had the exact same thought. So amazing.
Also a good reminder that strange topics for sacrament talks aren't bad, they just might be meant for someone specific that the Lord is trying to reach.
Thank you very much President Oaks
So true, I'm so grateful for living apostles. Reminders of living right with those around us.
Love you President Oaks!
Absolutely needed this right now. So many are going through tumultuous times. Hear him, hear his voice, you will find peace and comfort
Wonderful talk. I almost shoplifted, but by the glory of God I acted in not stealing the item. I heard and was moved by the spirit.
So true and so important. How grateful I am to live in a day and time when God has again called prophets.
Truly man of God
Feeling the holy spirit when i hearing the prophets talked
The power of his voice and the comfort of his words was exactly what I needed to hear today...
Thank you so much. I've had this happen to me before. Talking to my dad while he was drunk last year.

Spot on! Think about all the times we ignore the promptings!🤯😬😕
You live and you learn. Love the General Authorities we have!🥰
Sometimes the promptings we ignore can be almost as memorable as the ones we heed!
This man is a modern Apostle who will point us to Christ just as Peter, James and John did in their day. I know this is true for God has told me so.
Thank you elder Oaks, my island st vincent volcano has recently erupted and I am now living in a shelter listening to your talk has help me to make up my mind about a few things one of them is to leave this shelter tomorrow, Thank you God bless

I am grateful for these servants. It goes to show, even they learn line upon line. God is concerned about all of our developments.

Hi @K W, thanks for your comment and for sharing your feelings. As Elder Holland, a leader in the Church, has taught, "...however many mistakes you feel you have made... or distance from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love.
