@@Richie016 , I do agree, but we also are made of dust and I am noticing that God can be very strict. Look how many Israelites he killed just for them complaining. We also can't help but notice that when he gets frustrated and mad he kills thousands of people. How many people died from God's creation that he made in Noah's flood? At least twice God was going to kill all the Israelites at once and start over with Moses, but Moses had to talk him out of it. I'm trying to be in a love affair with God as you say but it's more of being afraid of him because he will take your things take your security take your mind take whatever he wants.

it's great to learn that you have a bold perspective about safeguarding your existing lifestyle.
That is an encouraging first step towards learning more about God's role in your life.
But consider what the Bible tells us about the spirit.
      John 3:8 (NIV)
The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

To think God created the world in six days. Not billions of years. If humans existed for millions of years, then God would be fictional because His word has only been with us for a few thousand. Therefore, God must have created the world in six days about 7000 years ago. What more could we ask for than the Lord who has been with us for all 7000 years when he didn’t have to at all? There is nothing left to covet, He’s been here since the beginning of humans, not in the form of a fictional character after millions of years, but as our Holy God only 7000 years ago after a TIMELESS age when He made us. Praise the Lord, Amen!

Why did you mention a Person when listing possessions and "stuff"? For a second i felt like i was in the wrong for wanting my Princess back! But, that's Not Right! i know that getting rid of my Daughters would Not honor JESUS in any way; and, i Long for Them and my Wife. -This is Righteous, though. So, mentioning people in a list of "stuff" that we dont want to go without is not right. Anything and anyone can be made an idol, as the heart is an idol factory, never idle in making idols! Anything and anyone may be Redeemed unto YHWH n HIS Glory as well, of which We are Called n Commissioned! Oh GOD be Glorified in Reconciling Us !

God freely created us so that we might know, love, and serve him in this life and be happy with him forever. God's purpose in creating us is to draw forth from us a response of love and service here on earth, so that we may attain our goal of everlasting happiness with him in heaven.
All the things in this world are gifts of God, created for us, to be the means by which we can come to know him better, love him more surely, and serve him more faithfully.
As a result, we ought to appreciate and use these gifts of God insofar as they help us toward our goal of loving service and union with God. But insofar as any created things hinder our progress toward our goal, we ought to let them go.
"Happiness does not come from the number of things that we have, but from how much do we love ourselves and others."

So basically we shouldn't have any plans at all about money and we shouldn't have any plans at all about ANYTHING!!!! THAT doesn't sound very responsible. The rich man that said I will build bigger barns was making plans. What is wrong with making plans? I think God likes to flex his muscles and make us feel small sometimes. Usually the big strong and mighty are more humble because they know they can destroy whatever they touch in a second. I'm reading in the Old Testament and just noticing that we shouldn't even complain. Because if you complain God will kill you. It's like he gives us misery just to see if we will still be happy because he is with us. Human beings are not built that way. We will complain when we are hungry we will complain when we are cold we will complain when we feel betrayed and abandoned. God was killing people that were complaining because of real legitimate human concerns.

You must not overlook the sacrifice.
      Corinthians 5:7.
Jesus' death on the cross was a passover from death to life for himself and for all of us. By his blood we are saved from death. Jesus made it possible for us to break out of the slavery of sin and death. He gave us the hope of reaching our promised land, heaven.

MR. C - LOL! I know how you feel. This video is apparently a snippet of a larger sermon. My understanding is making plans and goals are inevitable as humans but as the Word says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all these things will be added unto you". This particular verse was speaking about food and clothing. However, elsewhere in the NT we are admonished by Jesus to seek righteousness first. Prioritize God and His righteousness first and then as you pursue earthly goals they are "bookended" and governed by God's will. Hold on loosely to whatever you acquire and be ready to use these things according to God's direction. Hope this helps.
