Sure. It's to get you to click, but not a scam. Title is referring to the convo they had about Estate Sale companies doing shady business practices to make more money.
You used the pretty lady as clickbait. Evident because the thumbnail has nothing to do with the title of the video, nor the quotation on the thumbnail.
Dave did you forget your Canstier set at that first sale , I seen her bag them and set them behind her chair but never seen you go back and get them ? Hopefully you got them .
At first sale you paid $3 for a chennelle bedspread and its worth more than the glasses. You kept calling it blanket but its vintage bedspread worth at least $75 if in good shape.
The tin canister set is very retro. That is a chenille bedspread. If in good condition is highly sought after. A book collector would have a hay day at that sale. That 60’s nut cracker bowl was awesome. I think Paul would have bought all of those boxes of clothes
That "blanket" is a bedspread and the fabric is chenille which was the only kind of spread to have back in the day. Bedspread's prob'ly wort more than the glasses. Solds on eBay range from $30, a bunch $90-100 area, to one that went for $300.
I remember when you used what you knew instead of what your phone knows. That is when it was worth while. Back in 1998 when I started selling on eBay we used to find $100 items for a dollar or two on a regular basis. Occasionally we would find a $400+ find for a few dollars and those were the good deals. An hour at garage sales and then another at the local thrift store would usually net you enough items to sell for the week on eBay and make you anywhere from $200-$2,000 for the week.
DH and I would spend a long time in that library. He's Mayanist, did research innTikal, Guatemala, wrote many articles etc. on the Maya. We loved Tikal!!! And we love books, some to keep and I'd find some to sell!
A lot of the estate sale companies in Phoenix pulled the same crap with the pricing and the people running them often had a brick and mortar store so they got the leftovers dirt cheap and turned around and sold them in their stores or on eBay. I haven't checked out any in KY yet but will probably try in January or February. That last sale was awesome and I'm glad that guy got to keep his stuff to sell himself!
The pink spray at 28:18 ~ Some of those discontinued Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush sprays are worth quite a bit. My daughter loves the Juiced Berry one, but they are way too expensive now.
Hermes scarves are sold once a year for discount in France, and the patrons line up for a mile to get them. Chances of you finding one? Slim to none? But you never know!
I'd have grabbed that chenille bedspread too. Satin trim can be good, brown not so much. Good job. I think you got a damn good deal at the estate sale. I didn't catch the scammy person :(
Dave wasn't being scammed ... it was the person pricing the estate items that was "shady". I think what happens is whatever doesn't sell goes to the estate selling company, so they'll overprice items, they won't sell, then they'll take them and sell them to make more profit - but it didn't work this time - the man selling in his garage was able to get the items back and sell them himself.
15:40 Bro those old box square TVs are worth some $$$ these days. A lot of people like myself like them for nostalgia game play and game rooms. Had its remote and everything $100-200 all day
Hey Dave, remember we are with you when you walking around. Please don't whirl around in a 360 so fast. I kinda got nauseous when you were looking at the pans in that one kitchen. Your Mom is a hoot!!
I felt adventurous and listened to part of this instead of watching it. I thought you farted. I had to go back and watch but that was funny in just audio- more of a shart sound actually 😂😂😂 I was worried for you!
In a garage sale, many rules do not apply! I have seen someone put alcohol in makeup patties. It healed broken parties and sterilized them. That said, I would never use used makeup!
back in the 70s I recall those bedspreads, they were called candlewick by my mum, not chenille hang on I'll look it up.....aha it is a brand name, mutha was wrong aha you know your ma is the spitting image of mine, however yours is adorable swap???? hehe heavy sigh, I'll close the door on my way out
your mom does not know how to use a waffle pan its like any other pan you put it on top of the burner and you pour your waffles in the pan then you close the lid. Was your mom born yesterday that you don't know how to use a waffle pan. Dave has a cooking show he should know
Didn't His mom tell him you put on the stove or grill right in the video ? Sounded like it And she still asked the seller to make sure she was right I guess . . 🤔 and yes Dave should had known but he was probably thinking where is the electric cord 😊
Hey Dave - That was a chenille (sha-KNEEL) bedspread. Probably worth more than all the other stuff you bought. Lucky mistake! And even your MOM didn't know how a cast iron waffle maker works?????????? I have no idea what the world's coming to. If it doesn't have a cord, no one knows how to use it.
For $1ea per book there was A LOT of potential money in that place. Books are worth hella money when you can get them that cheap. Especially really any older hardcover books just usually sell for a minimum of $15-$20 and $15 is legit just if that book is a “bust” as far as books go. Legit very little risk of actually losing money. Which is why I didn’t think what you said was entirely accurate. You don’t need to sit there for 6-7hrs looking up books. For $1ea you could legit just buy the entire library and make money. Guaranteed. Or just pic all older looking hardcovers without looking up. It’s srsly that easy. Then @38:10ish im legit drooling looking at those old books on shelves there lmao. PS: @34:00ish with all the talk of being pregnant or having a baby I can guarantee the lady in the skintight athletic wear going to have a baby put in her any day. I’m sure there are plenty of volunteers. :^) also I gotta laugh at bro having the same sickness I do with lamps. I find so many lamps I think would go for good money but the few I have bought never sell lmao
I've learned to go straight to the end of the video to see what you're talking about with the titles. Saves me time.
Was the scam the way you titled the video to get more people to click?
Sure. It's to get you to click, but not a scam. Title is referring to the convo they had about Estate Sale companies doing shady business practices to make more money.

Hi Dave, that waffle iron you put on a gas stovetop to cook. I’m not sure about an electric stovetop?
The reactions between you and your mom is great, I love it ! ❤❤
What was the scam? I must have missed it
Click bait.

@@LolaChacona AH, bless you. I was listing and figured I missed a little bit. Sometimes I even watch twice LOL
I know a few companies like that.
Great deal at that last sale - that precious moments train surprised the heck out of me.
The blanket like thing is Chenille. Some of it can sell nicely.
why do people not have their stuff priced. Makes no sense
Beautiful weather good buys for you ashame thoes shoes are 20 mom and you are having fun.
17:26 vintage aluminum pots - my grandma used to cook with those!
That crazy looking lamp was so cool. I think that it would have been a good buy.
What about the vtg pink towel set at the 1st sale?
The "rag" you grabbed to wrap the Libbey glasses in is a chenille bedspread, and for $3, if in good condition, it's very sellable.

Even doh you have the money too buy yourself something nice you still don’t lol treat yourself life is only 1 time & money come n goes
I know you don’t like listing clothes, but that cheerleader Letterman sweater was worth a lot of money. True vintage is insane money
Wow, you got some good deals at the last sale! Good to see Momma Picker!❤️😊
It’s a candlewhick bedspread used to use them donkeys years ago
What's the scam???
I loved the video! 🤗🙂
Another great video!
Its a chenille bedspread! not a blanket
Oh boy I could have stayed in the book room for hours 😍😍😻😻
22:05 this would be the time to explain you are reselling them
Putting in the work let’s go 🔥
$1.00 buy the waffle maker all day long.
I think if they aren't selling something they shouldn't have it out
That is a nice big house.
There was still a whole lot of good stuff in there
Man, those books would have probably sold great on Amazon
Could have done well with the game pieces if they were all there
Never buy used eye makeup, never! I am surprised that it is allowed to be sold.
Sounds shady, and a good foundation for someone who's a bit cornier to look into fading it out before someone really lashes out.

Ha Ha. Yes. Scarves are boring. I walk past them too. Lol
Did you pay for the coke glasses?
Yes as soon as they counted it up and walked over to them.
Why didn't they offer the bubble wrap to begin with!
You got ripped off..... 50 x 25 equals. $ 12.50. Not $ 16 something. ....
your mom left her phone on the table
You put down a Hermes scarf just as you were talking about Hermes.
I thought the same thing!
❤
Are these guys junk collectors? They should aim their sights higher! Loved the Hermies comment! Lmao
Awesome
