    This will be extremely helpful in a few days. Just ordered a 37mm brass block, brass claw and screws, ti inserts, and ti string locking screws. Can't wait till they get here! Thanks Adam for the "less crappier" videos, lol.

      Just got everything in the mail this afternoon and was able to get everything installed quickly on my Charvel thanks to your guidance on this video. This guitar sounds BIG now!!! I noticed a huge sustain improvement from the block and the notes are more defined thanks to the titanium insterts. Definitely noticed a difference right away. Great products, Adam!

    FU-Tone rocks! Adam Reiver is an awesome guy and knows his stuff very well... No wonder why artists like Alex Lifeson (Rush), Phil Collen (Def Leppard), Scott Ian (Slayer) and Zakk Wylde, among many others have done these mods to their guitars. I have done these mods to a Gibson Les Paul Axcess with an Original Floyd Rose (German-made): done the Brass block, brass claw, brass claw screws, noiseless springs, adding also a complete set of Floyd Rose stainless steel screws (block screws, saddle screws, intonation screws and nut screws), a couple of years ago and it has made a great difference. Great stuff! cool video man... Keep 'em coming. Cheers from Costa Rica.

    I had not owned a floyd rose equipped guitar for years. I liked them but the setup was too daunting for me. Then I saw his setups vids tried it and it worked every time. His setup techniques and products are priceless if you love the floyd rose watch and learn. The tonal upgrades are not a joke they really do what he says they do.

    I love the brass big block but I just recently found out about the Stone Tone Granite big block. It’s so much better than the brass block. Granite has a better frequency rate, you keep your highs, low’s and mid’s.

    To block the trem in the back cavity I found allen keys to be really helpful.

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  6 лет назад +1

      YES! Same! I look around my bench or box for something the exact size to level the bridge - sometimes its an allen key - sometimes, I take old string lock screws and wrap tape around them to alter the thickness - works like a charm! Thanks for the feedback Aaron!

    The originals got a lot of plays from me as a kid. FU-Tone taught me how to properly set up a Floyd and get rid of that tone sucker plate.
    What's the outro song? Cuts out right as it sounded like it was going to get awesome.

    I just bought a big block and am waiting on delivery before the end of today, so perfect time for me to see this video, great job! What tuner is that you're using for intonation?

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks! That is a Peterson Strobo Plus - they are great tuners and for sale at FU-Tone.com in the Tuners section.

      Lower the 2 posts that the bridge rests on.

    Will the thickness of the block decrease the amount of upward lift you get with the trem?

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  6 лет назад +2

      In most cases it will not matter (the base plate will bottom out first). In rarer cases yes. If you need more room, you can always shave the interior edge back a few mm's.

    I was thinking about buying an FU-Tone brass big block and claw/screws for my Ibanez RG420 EG; However, I noticed that while still secure, one of the two adjustable claw screws is in at a slight angle. Will reinstalling the screws after this as happened route out the hole if i try to insert the new screws properly? Great videos, btw, looking forward to trying out some of the products soon!

    • @FloydUpgrades

    On a new FU2 High Performance bridge, are the string saddles in an even neutral alignment for intonation?

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  7 лет назад +1

      Yes - But you should set the intonation with every new bridge, change in string gauge or change in tuning.

    Isn't the plate that supposed to go between the sustain block and the tension plate supposed to support the tension plate and prevent it from deforming?

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  7 лет назад

      The is the supposed thought behind it. It is not necessary for the job and sucks vibration between the block and the base plate. Total tone sucker.

    • @darinsteele7091

      When I was looking at the back of my OFR it looks like the end of that shim plate bends down towards the body on the low E side for some reason, even with the posts at the same height, and it's causing my pull-backs to be shorter because that side will hit the body first, I can't figure out why it curves down on that side and the high E side is higher off the body...If I take that plate out I would have more room to bend a note or two back.

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  7 лет назад

      Take the plate out. If you have any questions - send me a pic - adam@fu-tone.com

    You would think a guitar that costs 11 thousand dollars would at least have a decent block... I dont understand how value is placed on guitars I really dont. I bought an esp Ltd gl 200mt for 600 dollars, I then put in gotoh locking tuners, a seymour duncan JB trembucker, changed the floyd special to a floyd original, added a big fat brass block, a brass claw with brass screws, noiseless floyd springs and a seymour duncan 500k pot. Now I essentially have a esp m1 that they charge 4K for. I have about 1100 into it. So how is my guitar made out of the exact same material, with the exact same or better electronics and hardware, somehow "cheaper" than the M1??? I've been told that my guitar sounds better than the m1, by another george lynch fan I know who actually owns the M1 version. So what gives?

    If I get one of these, is it guaranteed to stay in tune no how much divebombing and hyper-pulling I do?

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  5 лет назад

      The Big Block is mainly a tonal part. There are many factors that play into tuning stability (Nut, nut pads, saddles and saddle inserts, knife edges and posts... on and on).

    • @metal_helm
      @metal_helm 5 лет назад +1

      sorry i'm an idiot and didn't see the description. I mean if you get everything as you said in the above post from FU tone, is it guaranteed tuning stability? I had seen your company before but didn't take notice until i saw that Gary Holt endorses you guys, which is HUGE in my book.

    • @FloydUpgrades
      @FloydUpgrades  5 лет назад

      @@metal_helm - All of those things working together, properly maintained in addition to general guitar maintenance, proper string stretching and care will get you there! There is not a one part magic bullet for your request - it is all of those things. Yes - The Big Block helps with stability but it is also the key to your TONE!

    8:13 the bridge seems to be sitting parallel but pretty low to the body, same with my guitar. Is it okay?

    • @ChickenTV2
      @ChickenTV2 4 года назад

      As long as there is no fret buzz on the higher frets, that's how you want it. Also when you pull the bar up, you wanna have clearance so the string ring out without muting.
