Am planning to get one can you advice me is it worth to buy this machine as of 2021? Am tight on budget and new machines are pretty expensive nowadays. So going with old machines. And have you check how much amps it takes from wall under full load.
@@Mods-Lover Well I absolutely love the HP machines like the Z800, Z600 etc. Both are excellent machines - you can think of the Z600 as the Z800's little brother. - you cansometimes buy them on Ebay at a good price but you obviously have to be careful - check my own video on the problems I had with a really cheap one! If you do consider it always go for one with twin Xeon processors with 6 cores each for the best results - and of course the highest anount of RAM you can afford. I don't know how much power they pull from the wall though.
@@AlbyTastic sadly ebay is dead here from years 😑 foolish decision of them for doing so. But yeah i seen that, am getting it from a retailer who deals in servers and is not online person. He is giving it at a fair price too. Am getting one with x5660 so yeah it's enough for me. I only have to buy gpu that's it. Rest everything will be fully functional and comes with a month of testing warranty. Am convinced with the machine and service. It's just other stuff that keeps me going on lol like windows installation and storages. Rest is good with me
Thank you Alby, I used your method on an HP Z600 with the Windows 11 22H2 release, and despite a couple of error messages from WinPass11 saying that it couldn't download the files needed (and then it downloaded them anyway) it worked a treat.
Thanks so much for this video! Succes on my HP Z600, everything is just like in the video and easy to follow, and i just downloaded a fresh windows 11.iso! It took a while before i saw that the .dll file was succesfully replaced but other than that it installed, rebooted and checked for updates. Lol i unplugged my WiFi, smart thing to do, anyhow may blessings be with you. PC specs : HP Z600 2x Xeon X5570 12GB DDR3 GTX 1070
I'm so glad you found it so easy - I tried this method on a number of different computers before I made the video and it worked on all of them. I've been using my Z800 with no problems for about 3 months now without any problems. I'm also posting this in a VM running Windows 11.
Not sure about Windows 11 on my 11 year old Z800, worried that future updates might break it. Mine has an SSD boot drive (only a SATA one, unlike yours) and a much improved graphics card. When I got it, there was one bad stick of RAM. The PSU blew up in a cloud of smelly smoke but it was only a filter capacitor so not too hard to repair.
Well So far I've had a load of updates on my Z800s (multiple Machines) with no problems, but if you're worried about it you could always use VirtualBox and iinstall it in a Virtual Machine - I have 3 Videos detailing how to do that and one video showing how to get the latest ISO image from UUPDump. In fact I'm posting this from inside a VM running Windows 11 on my Z800 which is also running Windows 11.
Hi - It's now 6 months since I installed Win 11 on my z800s, Z840 etc and no problems at all so far. No problems either in any of my Virtual Machines so I'm not worried about it at all.
Btw - my Z800 has 96gb ram, x6590 x2, and a GeForce 1080tx, along with a SSD and a nVME. I don’t think I can upgrade it further. Maybe a better vid card.
In the middle of the upgrade now. The WinPass11 at softpedia did not work, but I found a newer version that did work. Not yet completed, but hopefully it will all keep going and finish. I had troubles with Win10 on the Z800. It didn’t like to sleep and when it did, it would wake up right. Always had to either shut it down or reboot. Hopefully Win11 fixes this.
Well I've installed Win 11 on about 8 different PCs now with no problems. It depends on what your laptop is capable of - but don't forget this is experimental and may not work gor everyone.
Wow that's so simple just need to install w10 first. That's an easy thing to do. Hope things don't change in future. Did you looked that "duet with refind" thing? I hope you should make a videos of it too. I wonder what drives are supported by the method.
@@AlbyTastic glad you did a walk through. Happy to see a video on it in near future ✌️ if that thing works flawlessly, then it will be a new revolution in z800 group lol 😂
I have seen some videos which use Windows Media Creation tool to create a bootable flash drive for a clean install but unfortunately that doesn't work on unsupported machines. I've seen a way to change some Windows 10 files with Windows 11 files which is supposed to work but when I've tried it it always fails becaue as soon as the Windows installation starts to update it replaces those files.. - but I'm still looking.
@@AlbyTastic I have found a good windows 11 iso, its a compact version by Spectre. A fresh install worked flawlessly on my z800. And I really am diggin this new windows.
Alby, you’re a legend..was just about the ask you about the w11 TPM debacle then, there it is ! Do you have to download that particular w11 iso? And will this mean you still get updates etc from Ms? Many thanks again great content as usual. Any chance we might see you in front of camera soon😜
Thanks very much - the build I'm using is 22000.194 which seems stable and has worked on all the machines i've nstalled it on and all VMs as well. And I'm still getting updates ATM - mostly for the Windows Defender Anti Malware protection. I've no plans to appear in front of camera though - I feel much more comfortable working this way but thanks for the ask.
@@chelmsfordsaonlineworship4821 Well I love VirtualBox and have used VMs for years and W11 is working great in one of my VMs (This one in fact - I'm actually in a Win 11 VM right now.) - I've also tested win 11 in a Z600 and it works there too.In fact I've tested it in about 8 machines now and with no problems - including a Duo Core.
