Good job bending the new machine to your will, Nick. Great that it's all contained in that monitor. Nothing better than having the schematics and datasheets right there at the bench. Plus, you're 5.1 surround sound capable now! Home theatre in the lab! Play some media with 5.1 sound encoding in it to hear the rear and sub/center outputs.
And Dennis looks to have been a fine feline. Sorry he's gone.

You can buy a little passive dongle that splits a combined jack into just headphone and just microphone 3.5mm jacks if you like.
Yes the quality of the data the software relies on to make its measurements depends entirely upon the quality of the ADC in the audio hardware.

Thanks, what I really want is a decent box with some rca jacks and maybe some level controls, but the nearest I can find is more geared to musicians who want to plug in instruments and mikes. I think that would be okay but no more money for that at the moment
