As a natural product formulator and perfumer of many years I might respectfully suggest that it’s the castor oil giving the crayon scent 💚. Kaolin clay is much harder to detect in a product and has more of a mineral clay profile - castor on the other hand, if not using deodorized castor - has a strong smell that can read as waxy, animalic, putrid, rancid, unctuous, starchy, powdery, or bean-like. 💚. however the consistency is so helpful in cream products that it’s often worth the risk. olfactory considerations aside, you already know i love your thorough detailed content! thank you.
Your really took one for the team, Lexi! Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts about these product fails! You are doing right by your community :)
Wow! You just saved me a ton of money because I was eyeing so many colors and I’m happy that I don’t have to choose. Sounds like it would be very uncomfortable to wear after awhile and I’ve been going more to more moisturizing lipsticks over the years. Always appreciate your reviews and they are so fast! Sadie is beautiful and adorable!! ❤❤❤
I just wanted to add that I wore the new Prada hyper matte lipstick all day today & my lips stayed comfortable & moisturized all day. U might want to check out that line as well.
I agree with your assessement. I also didn't realize I needed to read instructions for lipsticks and a moisturizing base is too much work on the go. The colors are a miss for me with the lightest being too 80s and the rest being darker than my everyday looks. This is a miss for me. Fwiw, I tried Lacker.
I love seeing your reviews- they are always so in depth and detailed. You also do the best swatches on RUclips! I wish companies would stop adding so much HA to cosmetics. HA should really be used as a serum/gel on wet skin and then sealed in with an occlusive top layer. I find so many water based foundations and cosmetics can be really drying because I live in a dry climate and the HA just pulls that moisture from my skin if it’s not sealed. I used to live in a humid area and using a lot of HA or other humectants would cause my skin to feel straight up damp 😂
Thank you so much! I agree with you about HA. It's definitely a great ingredient but it doesn't need to be everywhere. I hate when specific ingredients become trendy because they often don't suit the products.
Thank you so much for this review, Lexi! I really needed to hear someone’s thoughts on this new lipstick. My lips are super dry and Gucci Westman said in her video that it’s moisturizing but now I know the truth. You’re awesome! Thank you 😊❤🫶
Lexi, thank you. Your honesty is refreshing. I saw one other review where the influencer didn’t say much about quality or wear-just demonstrated the colors. I was almost influenced! I appreciate your thoughts and while I like the wear time you described I am not a fan of dry lips. I found that was the case with the new Merit ones. I look forward to your thoughts on Chanel Velvet Nuit lipsticks! And happy early bday to your puppy - I see a peanut butter cake in her future!
Same here. I saw that review the other day. It was apparent it was PR. Even so, more details should have been provided on the quality of lipsticks, wear, etc.
You are SO QUICK with the new releases. I can’t wait to see this and the foundation. I haven’t tried the old one. And you are an expert on Lippies. So ❤❤❤
Geez I was so excited for the WA but I’m sooo glad I held off a few days and waited on your review ❤ I can’t stand that clay smell, I’ve had to throw away lipsticks over it. Seems to just get worse as it ages. Love your pup Happy early birthday to her!!
Thanks for the review Lexi always a trusted source❤. I’m mostly concerned with longevity on these I’ll be interested in hearing updates! Clean lip products worry me in general…I also wish she would have done some cooler shades. I still might pick up one 💄
I ordered Je Reve and haven't gotten it yet. I knew I should have waited for Lexi's review! TBH I think now the WA promo photos were a little deceiving, because it looked like a cooler rose in their photos/videos. But Lexi's giving us the real deal here.
@@LexiJong I’ve had good luck with my contour truffle stick and my highlighter Peau de rose is 2 years old still going strong, and I still love it just as much as the first day I bought it 😍. The lip products make me a little more nervous though just because the nature of our mouth areas etc. I’m hoping they hold up the same too. I decided to get Minx, I’m a cool toned pink lover and that’s probably the closest I’m going to get without going hot pink. I haven’t seen that shade reviewed yet but hoping it’s at least neutral. Yes I always come straight here for the real deal on color tones! Lexi knows her shades and appreciates a good cool tone as much as I do 💜
Thank you for your honest review!!! I actually was going to hit the buy button lol I hate usually a drying feel to the lips. But all the hype on them I thought they were amazing lol
Hi Lexi! Firstly, thank you for investing in these new products and reviewing them thoroughly. I was very curious about the WA lipsticks (I had already figured out that the Armani foundation would be too yellow for me) and I was hoping the formula would be at least as good as the one in the “nude” lip suede compact (the red one was too drying). Thank you for satisfying my curiosity and for saving me the expense and disappointment. Sadie’s indeed all grown up - and very pretty. Have a great day!
OMG Sadie! More of her, please! I totally trust your judgment re: the Westman Atelier lipsticks. I ordered Je Reve the other day and haven't gotten it yet, but now I'm second guessing that decision. The photos of the colors online were a little deceiving. Je Reve looked on their promo photos as definitely more of a cool rose. But your dead right, it's definitely got an orange-y tone to it. You were so spot on with your review of last season's Hermes shiny lipsticks, and I purchased Prunoir and Rouge Abysse on your recommendation. Best decision ever! I love, love, love both of those colors. Anyway, I think you're one of the best luxury makeup reviewers on YT. I really appreciate your honest reviews.
Thank you for your honest and in-depth review! I was especially interested in the lipsticks. Not so much any longer 😂. I’m super super sensitive to lipstick ”fragrance”. I just wish Westman would make the same formula and colours from the lip suedes in lipstick format 💄
Ah interesting. Thank you for letting me know. (I posted my comment while watching the end of your video so I did hear you say at the end that they do remind you slightly about the lip palettes! But I will steer clear of them anyways due to the price point, the bulky packaging, the scent and the drying effect 😅).
Hello Lexi! Although I’m curious about the WA matte lipsticks, I agree with you on so many points, like the structure and the case design and finish, I agree with you 100%. Their other stick makeup are the same, even the bigger ones such as the contour and blush sticks.
Amazing video as always! Been waiting for your review before getting the Westman lippies, thanks for saving us alot of money (again😊) ! I cannot wait for your review of the new Chanel Nuit lipticks❤
Hi Lexi, thank you for such a detailed, thorough and honest video reflecting your thoughts on these new releases. Lipstick is your fav thing so I'm disappointed for you bc you certainly know your formulas and test things thoroughly. The WA colours did not translate the way I envisioned upon first seeing them and I personally don't like scent so I appreciate your unbiased takeaways. I'm kind of low-key disappointed in both the shades and the formula for an anticipated luxury item...I guess the heart embossing is the highlight lol. Actually, the gorgeous Sadie is the highlight because I cannot get over her cuteness and colouring. Thank you for always being a place we can come to for trusted, intellectual reviews. 💯👏
Lol about the heart embossing. It's a shame but that is the highlight for me in regards to the product but Sadie is definitely the highlight of the video. She has been so cute playing a game where she gently nips at my side from behind and then switches to the other side and pretends it wasn't her. It's so cute!
@@LexiJong I swear you have one of the most adorable puppies out there...she is such a character lol. She thinks everything is a game and looks for ways to entertain herself by outsmarting everyone. 🤣👏
Your reviews are the best! Another RUclipsr reviewed these lipsticks the other day, which were clearly sent to them in PR, and praise was sung. I could not try the lipstick before buying it, so thank you again. You saved me at least fifty bucks. I hate Kjaer Weis lipsticks, and if these even remotely resemble them, I'll pass. My lips are dry as it is. Have you tried Fara Homidi lip compacts? They come with the balm. So far, I have the shade Red 1 and enjoy it. Soon, I plan on ordering Nude 1. I hoped the new WA lipsticks would have a nice texture and be practical because it's only sometimes convenient to lug a lip compact and a lip brush around. Oh well, maybe in the future.
I have the Nude 1 compact from FH. I like it. It looks a little brick-y in the pan, but once I apply it to my lips, its definitely a neutral pink color.
Thank you. Armani makes excellent base products but I thought this was going to be a glowing foundation and I have oily skin so I wasn’t going to purchase this but after your review I am excited to try this one. Thanks!
Lexi, thanks so much for your review. I’m waiting for my order of WA suede lipsticks, je vere and minx colors. I definitely wouldn’t have known about the application process. I was really hoping they wouldn’t have been drying based on their website info. Love meeting Sadie too.
Sadie sighting!!!!! Thanks. I was intrigued by the WA lipsticks for their colors and graceful wearing-off quality, but I can see now the formula won't work for me. I can also see that the huge, hard to manipulate component wouldn't be ideal for traveling with. Good to know.
So funny how mileage varies. I have 3 shades of the WA lipsticks and I've been loving them. They are so comfortable and do not budge, and the colours (I got Je Reve, LFG and Ma Niche) are really gorgeous and compliment my baby cheeks blushes so well!!! And I don't notice a smell? And I love the packaging?
Also, I threw away my lip suede (the reds), but these are a totally different feel? I liked the les Nudes lip suede, but those were too balmy and didn't last very long. These lipsticks are great for me.
I have to say you are spot on with the review! Mine arrived today - I ordered Lacker and La reve. I tried Lacker on and could see every line in my lips! I exfoliated with a towel and tried with a lip balm under and slightly better, but the color looked terrible on…at first. I will say after I blotted per your recommendation and wore the color a bit it looked really great. Still could see lines though as you stated. I’m going to have to invest in a lip scrub!! I’m returning La reve without opening - it’s too dark for my liking. I’ve also ordered Pique and it’s arriving tomorrow. I expected more from a $50 lipstick.
@@LexiJong I have to say I didn’t notice the scent unless it was right under my nose, so that did not bother me at all. I was hoping for the lip palette shades, as I love the colors but rarely use as they are inconvenient.
@@nmw_ so actually I love pique and lacker now. The trick for me has been to blot it on and not swipe. They are both gorgeous neutral shades. When I do this I don’t see lip lines.
@@jenniferc5880 ah love that, thanks! That's exactly the way I intend to use Pique when it arrives today. Also really intrigued about Läcker, will try to see it in person when I can.
Thank you so much for your incredibly thorough reviews, they're always super helpful! I love WA but after watching this video I think I might pass on the new lipsticks. Hope you're well!
Lexi, thank you for reviewing the WA lipsticks & GA Glow Foundation. I was waiting for the reviews on the lipstick and glad I waited for your review. If you say it’s matte & drying then it must be pretty drying. You have so many different matte lipsticks so I trust your review. It’s too bad the shades look really pretty. But who wants to have to always apply a balm before. So glad you brought Sadie in the video she’s getting so big and so adorable!! 😊🌺
Hello Lexi - thank you so much for a great appraisal of the foundation and lipsticks, both of which were clear misses! I just recently bought the GA Eye tint in a pinky lilac - I think it is 8S and I like it although it is very subtle - but at my time of life that's probably better 🤣The WA lipsticks don't seem to work on any level - I can see what you mean re: the chunky packaging but with a narrow area where the lipstick is twisted up. And for the price, you shouldn't have to spend ages prepping lips for what seems to be a very drying formula. Appreciate your comprehensive review and it has saved us wasting money on luxury items that really aren't worth their price. Really helpful information. Many thanks 😊
I was so excited about the WA becoming I love a lot of their products. I bought Lacker, and unfortunately am very disappointed in the wear. It becomes patchy, emphasizing lip lines in no time - definitely does not survive drinking or eating. These cost 68 dollars in Canada so it's kind of shocking regarding the quality. I thought maybe it's just the shade but more negative reviews are coming out and that is good because Sephora reviews are mainly 5 star (because of influencer). Thank you!❤
It's tough but the Dries Van Noten mattes, Givenchy (deep), Guerlain Rouge G Velvets, then the Givenchy Sheer Velvets are probably my top choices in order. It depends what style you are looking for as the Givenchy deep velvets are more of a creamy matte.
I ordered a couple of the Westman Atelier lipsticks, but that Armani foundation is a no go for me. That color. Oy. Completely yellow, although it doesn’t look yellow on your skin. But the sheer coverage, it really isn’t for me. I prefer medium to full coverage and a more natural finish. I don’t like glowy either, but you said it really isn’t glowy.
Thank you Lexi! Argh, I knew I had to wait for your video on the Westman Atelier... I ordered one hoping the "6 years in the making", " very hydrating matte" were true... I have very dry lips and I'm a matte lipstick lover so I guess I'm cursed for life 🤣... I recently ordered a Pat McGrath matte trance and I have to say to my lips it's better than I thought. Please could you share which matte lipstick has the best formula in your opinion? Thank you
I was so eager for these too. For matte lipsticks, I love the Dries Van Noten, Givenchy (deep velvets are my favorite creamy mattes and the sheer velvets are a great soft, blurring formula), and Guerlain Rouge G velvets.
Hi Lexi: I did order the WM lipstick in Pique so was happy to see the color on you. Thanks so much for all the details.......when mine arrives I will let you know what I think. At least, if a return is needed, WM is very good about that.......at least they have been for me in the very limited times I have had to use that feature. Chat soon! :)
I have had no isssues (again, very ltd. use) of their return policy and it was all encompassing. No issues for whatever reason. :)@@landcraftwellness9850
I also find out a few weeks ago on Armani’s Instagram page that they told me they have no plans to bring that foundation to the US which I was disappointed but after your review I am not anymore.
Hi Lexi, great and very informative video as usual 👍🏻 I think we are still waiting for the pressed powder refills from Westman Atelier 😒 So I don’t know if we can trust any brand on their « sustainable » claims at this point ! And regarding all of the work you have to put into their lipsticks to just look decent , it will be a pass for me : too much money and too much work ! 😅 I love when your beautiful dog come and say hi 🐶 ☺️
So thorough!!! As usual ❤ My WA should arrive today. Makes me so sad that they’re a dud!!! Had high hopes… well - live & learn Maybe I’d enjoy them as a cheek product.
Lexi, thanks so much for your thorough and candid review of the new WA lipsticks. They are not meant for dry lips - so I’m definitely going to pass. I need moisturizing formulas. I don’t like lipstick scents and wasn’t impressed with the packaging. The lip compacts were way too drying for me too. Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing Sadie - such a cutie pie 🥰!
You know the main reason I follow you? You know the difference between warm and cool colors and you tell us which is which. I’m extremely cool toned, so neutrals pull orange on me. Thank you so much for making it easier to order the colors that will flatter me. :)
My face is warm-toned and olive, but my lips, I believe, are cool and pigmented plum color. Finding neutral lipstick that doesn't make me look dead or pull orange is hard. I had high hopes for these new WA ones and still might order one, Je Reve.
Thanks for your thorough review. I wrote to the WA staff and asked if the lipstick formula is similar to the compact with nude colors and they replied that it isn't. I prefer the size of her smaller multi-stick bullets and wish she would sell more products in that size. In addition to being easier to carry, it is easier to use up within the recommended 12 or 18 month "use by" date and shared that with them. Maybe they would listen if more people wrote in and told them.
I tried the WA and Merit matte lipsticks and Merit is the winner for me. It’s about half the price of WA, looks better on my lips and fades more naturally. WA has a slight scent that I can’t figure out but don’t care for.
I was wondering about this so I’m so glad that I saw your comment. I recently purchased the Merit matte lipstick, and loved it so much, that I had to go back to Sephora a few days later to grab another color. The Merit packaging is so beautiful too. I did pick up a WA mini baby cheek blush in Petal as well, but still think the Merit Flush Balm is nicer. Price doesn’t always mean anything.
Thank you so much for this thorough and honest review! Really appreciate your review of the WA lipstick -- you've saved me both money & disappointment. I hate lip products that are drying and/or unpleasantly scented -- and the fact that it's both makes this a definite skip for me. Thanks again for your trustworthy reviews! BTW Sadie is so beautiful :).
SADIE CAMEO!!!!!! 😍😍😍 She’s so beautiful! I’m always up for a Sadie cameo!! 🥰 You really took one for the team on the WA lipsticks. I was excited about these, but now I’m skipping them. The component really bothers me. I know it’s similar to the contour-which is my favorite- and is their brand shape, but I only have to raise it occasionally. When I’ve used it some, I raise it a little bit and that lasts for awhile. But a lipstick you have to raise and lower each time you use it. That’s really not well designed! Then to be drying on top of that? And to be smelly for hours? Nope. There are too many good matte lipsticks out there these days to put up with all of those negatives!
I feel for you, girl - tragic makeup day! That foundation was the opposite of its claims, and so yellow, and patchy. I really Ike’s the color of the WA Ja Reve (which before your caption, I kept seeing in my head as some weird pronunciation of ‘giraffe’…) but your description makes it a hard no for me. I’m sure I can find a similar color in a better formula. Thanks for taking one for the team, and for being honest, and for letting Sadie say hi! 🐕
Hi Lexi, I never used Armani foundation or concealer and definitely I will not do it in the future. WA is a brand I always liked the packaging and never liked the products. In my opinion they are very expensive and the performance is not great considering the price point. Their brushes are very expensive as well and the Rae Morris brushes (comparable luxury vegan brushes) are net superior. So overall Westman Atelier is not a brand I’m looking for and I think in the same category there are much better options. For $50 a lipstick I don’t think you have to exfoliate your lips and apply a lip balm before and still have dry lips after applying the lipstick. In Australia these lipsticks will be close to $100 each. Hermes, Guerlain, Dior lipsticks are a much better choice to name a few. Thanks for sharing!🙂
I have found any glow foundation is for some reason darker than the regular shade. NARS, MAC, REVLON, MUF. It must have something to do with the formulation. You can't assume your normal shade will work.
I sure hope Armani doesn’t discontinue or reformulate the Luminous Silk foundation and the concealer. While I sometimes think (wish) my shade, #2, was just a drop lighter (color), it’s really the best match for me out of any foundations I’ve tried. It’s very rare to find a pale shade with neutral undertones, and shade #2 is just that. The lightest shade from soooo many brands, always seems to have pink undertones 😠
Umm is it just me or did these shades look much cooler toned in the promo photos?! These were the two I wanted to get, so after seeing how warm they are I think I’ll pass ☹️ I always know I can count on your reviews because we have similar skin/hair tones! I appreciate all the work you put into your reviews! ❤
Je Reve has cool undertones and Pique is neutral. It looks this way on her probably due to her lip color because that also determines how the lipstick appears.
I saw some asian accounts swatch shade 1 but it seems to not be available on places like selfridges. Bummer. I may see if my mom can find it when she goes back to china but hearing about the sheer coverage i don't know if i will like it
Thanks for your candor re WA lipsticks. If I have to scrub and apply a balm and it STILL feels dry, wow … there are much better formulas out there that are comparable luxury experience. The scent is a hard deal breaker, too.
Saddy is adorable 🥰 omg her appearance was so great . Such a beauty . Holy oxidation that is crazy , i think i will be skipping i cant do drying at all . That sucks 😞 im bummed i was hoping this was going to be a great light weight glowy product but seems kinda opposite. The lipstick beautiful but again a NO i dont do drying stuff and weird smells perfume or otherwise . Make it smell like cake or nothing at all ..lol
Thank you! The WA lipsticks have beautiful shades but they’re not for me. Firstly, I hate the clunky component, second I hate that fragrance profile so much it makes me gag. Third, I can’t be bothered do prep work prior to using a lipstick that will ultimately feel dry. Thank you for saving me money!❤️😘❤️
Excited for the light peachy pink to be called the swedish word ”läcker” which means delicously gorgeous and is pronounced LEH -ker similar to the quick E in lecherous
I won’t compliment you on your honesty because that’s a given. I won’t compliment you on your swatches because they are the very best. I won’t compliment you on your comparisons because you happen to have an encyclopedic collection. I won’t say anything nice about your analysis because you know your formulae and textures and applications perfectly. I will say I look forward to every review, every first impression, every swatch, and every comparison because I expect and I get excellence, every, single, time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you for the honest review. Have to say I'm very disappointed in the Armani foundation. The Luminous Silk version is such a cult classic, so I would expect the next generation to be as good or better but sadly that is not the case with this product. The WA lipsticks looked promising but after your review, I'm not as enthusiastic about them. The colors are rich looking but everything else makes them questionable. I wish companies would be more conscientious when it come to popular ingredients like HA. While HA has great properties, it also has its limitations. HA doesn't need to be in every product but these companies all jump on the bandwagon because it has become the "IT" ingredient currently. It is practically impossible to find skincare/makeup without HA in the ingredient deck nowadays and for people who live in drier climates and/or have drier skin are stuck and it ends up being counterproductive. For the price of the WA lipsticks, why should it take an extra step or product to get the best result for a product to work?...Oh yeah, hopefully I will spend more money! I understand the exfoliating step but having to add a base layer?...Not for the price of these lipsticks. I expect better quality, performance if I'm going to drop $50.00 for a luxury lipstick. Sorry if this is coming across as harsh, it's not meant to be that way but not every "miracle" ingredient turns out to be a miracle. This is why I truly appreciate your reviews. I hope you can show some color comparisons to the WA lipsticks if you have time to. I do like the colors and the two you have would have been the colors I would have picked. Have a great day.
I LOVE these lipsticks by WA. They’re so comfortable! The packaging is also luxurious and kind of cool. It’s so unique. Dare I say I like them more than the rouge allure velvets, of which i’ve owned basically all of them over many years. I really dislike the violette lippies. I find those extremely uncomfortable.
I'm sorry! I think they work best if you apply a little lip balm, then the lipstick, then blot off the excess. They feel more comfortable that way for me but hopefully you end up liking them.
I really don't like the idea that WA is asking wearers to use lip balm before applying. They should have been able to create a standalone product that performed without requiring an additional step.
I agree. I can understand it being a suggestion but this is really more of a necessity imo. But a few others have chimed in that they love these and don't have the same problem I do so everyone's chemistry is a little different.
Wow. after listening to your review of the westman atelier lipsticks, I expected to be sending them back but I received them today and they’re absolutely lovely. The color goes on lovely! any matte lipstick you’re gonna need to prep your lips a little bit, maybe putting a very minimal amount of moisture into them. They went on beautifully. in my opinion, they’re as good as the Prada lipsticks and I have always felt that Givenchy and Dior were overrated, the colors don’t go on true, they’re definitely drier so I’m offering a difference of opinion on these. the packaging is beautiful, easy to swivel up and the little mirror in the lid is an extra that I wish more companies would offer. you do a great job with your videos. Thank you for all your hard work.☺️
Westman Atelier is not my preferred brand because they haven’t worked for me that well. So, thanks to your review, this is a pass for me. Sorry you get stuck with something you don’t like!
The lipsticks aren't very unique? I have a few matte formulas that work just the same. I'd say most mattes do... You blot off the excess and it lasts for hours. Get a MAC Powderkiss (made in Korea) or you know a Korean matte lipstick. The hearts are cute but I don't like the packaging 😕brrrr... It looks chunky and impractical!? Why would I wanna carry that around... At least w Guerlain you can use the Rouge G case as a weapon if needed and it has a mirror
I confess, I skipped to the lip colors first. I am so disappointed that La Reve is so warm. The promo shots made it look like the mauve of my dreams. And what were they thinking with that packaging? Too big for my makeup bag. Clunky. Hard to manipulate to get to the product. And why does it need an application technique? If it clings to flakes, they should have gone back to the drawing board. And I don't want to have to go through steps to put a lipstick on every time I apply. Honestly, this is such a fail, Gucci Westman should have been embarrassed to release it. That may sound harsh, but she's a makeup artist. She should know better. Thank you for saving me $50 plus tax. What a terrible product! Plus it smells bad! You were too nice about it, IMO. I'll take two of those dogs though. Sadie, Sadie, pretty lady. Thanks for your honest review. 💚
I was eyeing the WA matte lipsticks. No thanx! The foundation in my opinion looked awful for the price point. I have much better foundations, same price point plus cheaper ones as well that are much better looking. And the shades- i need light neutral no yellow.

Lexi knows her shades and appreciates a good cool tone as much as I do 💜
I always appreciate your helpful insight. Happy early birthday, Sadie!🎉💕
Thank you so much!
So excited to see Sadie make an appearance!!! She is so pretty!!! Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
Thank you for your honest review!!! I actually was going to hit the buy button lol I hate usually a drying feel to the lips. But all the hype on them I thought they were amazing lol
Thank you!
Thank you so much for saving me $$$ on the WA 💄I will get more of the Prada💄instead!
Great choice!
Thank you! I really wish the WA lived up to their claims.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your honest and in-depth review! I was especially interested in the lipsticks. Not so much any longer 😂. I’m super super sensitive to lipstick ”fragrance”. I just wish Westman would make the same formula and colours from the lip suedes in lipstick format 💄
I know she said that some of the shades are very close.
Ah interesting. Thank you for letting me know. (I posted my comment while watching the end of your video so I did hear you say at the end that they do remind you slightly about the lip palettes! But I will steer clear of them anyways due to the price point, the bulky packaging, the scent and the drying effect 😅).
Negative reviews are helpful!! Thank you for investigating these so thoroughly!
Thank you for watching!
Hello Lexi! Although I’m curious about the WA matte lipsticks, I agree with you on so many points, like the structure and the case design and finish, I agree with you 100%. Their other stick makeup are the same, even the bigger ones such as the contour and blush sticks.
Thanks for sharing!!
Insightful- I am glad I found your video!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing video as always! Been waiting for your review before getting the Westman lippies, thanks for saving us alot of money (again😊) !
I cannot wait for your review of the new Chanel Nuit lipticks❤
Thank you! I am hoping to have that up Sunday as long as delivery is on time.
Thanks for the visit from beautiful Sadie! Her fur is so gorgeous. She looks very clean.
Lol, she was very clean actually. She has been digging and it's been raining a lot so she just had a bath.
@@LexiJong well it definitely showed. She's soooo cuuute! I love how you said she follows you around. She totally thinks you are her Mom.
Thank you Lexi for reviewing the W.A. lipsticks. I was waiting for this.
Sadie...o.m.g. she is soooooo cute. 🐕💖
Thank you!
I feel the same the colors are a let down on application I’ve seen so far ! I do love the hearts and packaging tho ❤
Hooray 🥳!!! I was waiting for you 🌟🫶🏻👏👏👏!!! Thank you 🙏🤩😘
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@LexiJong Absolutely 👍🌟💎🙏🙏🫶🏻🫶🏻
I haven't heard of Fara Homidi. I'll check them out! Thank you!
@@LexiJong Lexi, I forgot to ask you if these WA Lipsticks have a white base?
Thank you. Armani makes excellent base products but I thought this was going to be a glowing foundation and I have oily skin so I wasn’t going to purchase this but after your review I am excited to try this one. Thanks!
I hope it works for you! Please let me know what you think.
Lexi, thanks so much for your review. I’m waiting for my order of WA suede lipsticks, je vere and minx colors. I definitely wouldn’t have known about the application process. I was really hoping they wouldn’t have been drying based on their website info. Love meeting Sadie too.
They really aren't too bad if you follow their steps and blot at the end but they just aren't great for me. Hopefully they will work better for you.
Love your videos as always. Thank you for all your thorough reviews!
Thanks for watching!
Seriously the cutest dog I have ever seen!
Thank you!
Sadie sighting!!!!! Thanks. I was intrigued by the WA lipsticks for their colors and graceful wearing-off quality, but I can see now the formula won't work for me. I can also see that the huge, hard to manipulate component wouldn't be ideal for traveling with. Good to know.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your honest review on the lip suedes
My pleasure 😊
So funny how mileage varies. I have 3 shades of the WA lipsticks and I've been loving them. They are so comfortable and do not budge, and the colours (I got Je Reve, LFG and Ma Niche) are really gorgeous and compliment my baby cheeks blushes so well!!! And I don't notice a smell? And I love the packaging?
Also, I threw away my lip suede (the reds), but these are a totally different feel? I liked the les Nudes lip suede, but those were too balmy and didn't last very long. These lipsticks are great for me.
I'm really glad you love them!
Thank you! I am glad you got it to work for you but i agree, i expected more too.
@@LexiJong I have to say I didn’t notice the scent unless it was right under my nose, so that did not bother me at all.
I was hoping for the lip palette shades, as I love the colors but rarely use as they are inconvenient.
@jenniferc5880 oh no! did you end up keeping and liking Pique at all?
@@nmw_ so actually I love pique and lacker now. The trick for me has been to blot it on and not swipe. They are both gorgeous neutral shades. When I do this I don’t see lip lines.
@@jenniferc5880 ah love that, thanks! That's exactly the way I intend to use Pique when it arrives today. Also really intrigued about Läcker, will try to see it in person when I can.
Thank you so much for your incredibly thorough reviews, they're always super helpful! I love WA but after watching this video I think I might pass on the new lipsticks. Hope you're well!
Thank you! I hope you are well too!
Beautiful lip shades Lexi! Thank you!!
Thank you!
Thank you Lora! I hope you are having a great day!
Thank you so much! The eye tint sounds beautiful! I think those have a lovely formula.
Thank you!❤
I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you either.
Thanks Lexi! I just can’t seem to find the perfect matte lip in terms of shade and moisture. What is your favorite matte lip product?
Yes, I just don't love it.
Thank you
Have you tried Lisa Eldridge matte lipstick collection? There are quite decent products
I was so eager for these too. For matte lipsticks, I love the Dries Van Noten, Givenchy (deep velvets are my favorite creamy mattes and the sheer velvets are a great soft, blurring formula), and Guerlain Rouge G velvets.
@@LexiJong Thank you again! I'll try the Dries Van Noten, because their packaging is quite beautiful (another obsession of mine) 😄
@@inigini Thank you, I tried them but the're quite drying and also their bullets breaks after a while...
@@WishesHeritage thank you Lexi 🫶🏻🌟🙏!! That is very constructive for us as consumers with limited budget🫶🏻
Chat soon! :)
Do they accept returns if you don't like the color? I haven't had to return anything to them yet, so I'm curious.
I have had no isssues (again, very ltd. use) of their return policy and it was all encompassing. No issues for whatever reason. :)@@landcraftwellness9850
That is great to know! I thought they didn’t accept returns that easily so i am glad to hear that has not been your experience.
Thanks for the honesty about the lipsticks, but l will try one with your review in mind. We'll done, Lexi!😊👍❤️
Please let me know what you think! There are some positives imo (such as how evenly it wears) to this so I hope you end up enjoying it.
Thanks for such a detailed review. I am definitely going with the Chanel lipsticks.
Good choice!
Yes, I really hope they release refills soon. Sadie loves coming in but usually just to try to find something to steal, lol.
So thorough!!! As usual ❤
My WA should arrive today. Makes me so sad that they’re a dud!!! Had high hopes… well - live & learn
Maybe I’d enjoy them as a cheek product.
I'm sorry! I hope other people end up liking them more than I do.
It doesn’t have to be a dud. It def wasn’t for me.
Thank you! Have a great weekend Maureen!
You know the main reason I follow you? You know the difference between warm and cool colors and you tell us which is which. I’m extremely cool toned, so neutrals pull orange on me. Thank you so much for making it easier to order the colors that will flatter me. :)
I am so glad i can help!
That's a great idea!
Thank you for your honest review,
My pleasure 😊
Great honest review. So helpful to get your thoughts.
Thank you!
I tried the WA and Merit matte lipsticks and Merit is the winner for me. It’s about half the price of WA, looks better on my lips and fades more naturally. WA has a slight scent that I can’t figure out but don’t care for.
I agree with you! The merit are nicer than the WA.
Price doesn’t always mean anything.
you are amazing.. thank you! Love to have skin care or moisture at least comfort with whatever i put on my lips..
Thank you!
I will pass on those lipsticks, thanks for the review, and your shiba is so adorable 🥰 ❤
Thank you!
thank you so much for your honesty. your reviews are the best
Thank you so much!! I love the color too but I think to wear this again I will blot and top with gloss.
Thank you so much!!
SADIE CAMEO!!!!!! 😍😍😍 She’s so beautiful! I’m always up for a Sadie cameo!! 🥰
You really took one for the team on the WA lipsticks.
That is exactly how i feel! I am just glad i didn’t get the four i was originally thinking of ordering, lol.
Thank you! I think there are definitely better options. I need to work on a new video of favorites!
Hi Lexi,
I never used Armani foundation or concealer and definitely I will not do it in the future.
I completely agree with you!
Hi Sadie, you are so absolutely beautiful. You are so lucky Lexi! She’s so adorable!
Thank you so much!
I have found any glow foundation is for some reason darker than the regular shade. NARS, MAC, REVLON, MUF. It must have something to do with the formulation. You can't assume your normal shade will work.
Thank you for sharing!
I completely agree with you!
Umm is it just me or did these shades look much cooler toned in the promo photos?! These were the two I wanted to get, so after seeing how warm they are I think I’ll pass ☹️
I always know I can count on your reviews because we have similar skin/hair tones! I appreciate all the work you put into your reviews! ❤
Yes they definitely looked cooler and a bit lighter to me in the photos. Thank you!
Je Reve has cool undertones and Pique is neutral. It looks this way on her probably due to her lip color because that also determines how the lipstick appears.
I saw some asian accounts swatch shade 1 but it seems to not be available on places like selfridges. Bummer. I may see if my mom can find it when she goes back to china but hearing about the sheer coverage i don't know if i will like it
If you try shade 1, please let me know how it looks!
I'm intrigued with this lipstick, I'll let you know how it wears. Thanks! Btw I look horrible in nudes, going to try the bolder shades.
Thank you! I can’t wait to hear what you think.
Thanks for your candor re WA lipsticks. If I have to scrub and apply a balm and it STILL feels dry, wow … there are much better formulas out there that are comparable luxury experience. The scent is a hard deal breaker, too.
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Lexi Sadie so grown 😊 great review. Definitely pass for me. Nothing too unique and drying. Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Thank you! You too!
Lol, I think if it smelled like cake, I'd be in trouble!
@@LexiJong 🤣right
Eeekkkk!!!!!! I am so excited to see the WA lipsticks. They look gorgeous.
I love Sadie!!! Thank you, Lexi. I think for me, the new WA lipstick is a pass for me. I'm really liking the new Dior lipsticks.
They are really great! I'm glad you are enjoying them!
Thank you!
I’ll be passing on both. Thanks for the reviews Lexi!
Thank you for watching!
Well that color looks good on you i got me 2 and i love them .
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like them.
Excited for the light peachy pink to be called the swedish word ”läcker” which means delicously gorgeous and is pronounced LEH -ker similar to the quick E in lecherous
I'm curious how that one looks irl!
Lexiiiii Chanel has new limited edition velvet lipsticks! Can’t wait for your review❤
Yes! I'm a bit disappointed in FedEx. My order was supposed to arrive yesterday and now they put it off until Monday but I will have them up asap!

Yay! Thank you!
The lipstick does look really good on you though 😊
Thank you! I really like the color.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you so much! You are too kind!
I completely agree with you! Very well said!
I'm so glad you love them!
Great review. Thanks. I ordered 2 WA lipsticks so now I feel disappointed.
I'm sorry! I think they work best if you apply a little lip balm, then the lipstick, then blot off the excess. They feel more comfortable that way for me but hopefully you end up liking them.
❤❤❤ Thank You!
Any time!
Thank you for all your hard work.☺️
Thank you for sharing! I am glad that you like them!
How beautiful is Sadie! Thanks for the WA review . Definitely not for my 58 yo lips
She is such a good dog!
Why do they keep sticking that ethyl vanillin in lipsticks?
I don't know but it is tiring.
Oh my gosh I have never seen a dog like that!
She is a shiba inu with sesame coloring.
Westman Atelier is not my preferred brand because they haven’t worked for me that well. So, thanks to your review, this is a pass for me. Sorry you get stuck with something you don’t like!
Thank you! I think the Chanel will be a better release.
Sure sounds like the WA lipsticks are a no go. Thank you.
Thanks!
Why adding HA in a lipstick? It’s a pass for me.
Yes, I agree. I know a lot of brands have some but this seems like a lot of HA or a more concentrated version.
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much! I also thought it would be more mauve than it is.
Je Reve is listed as cool undertones on their website. It probably has something to do with her lip color.
Definite no to the foundation. Maybe I'll pick up one shade on the lipstick
The colors are really beautiful and they wear very nicely.
🥰🥰
I am not interested in either one of those products, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!

I feel your pain with the crayon smell! Just not for me! Thank you Lexi.

I was eyeing the WA matte lipsticks. No thanx! The foundation in my opinion looked awful for the price point. I have much better foundations, same price point plus cheaper ones as well that are much better looking. And the shades- i need light neutral no yellow.
Thank you for watching!
