The Valegro has been in development since 2014 with the help of Team Sky. The purpose of this helmet is for increased cooling/ventilation. Something vital for long, tough, hot climbs/conditions.

The Kask Valegro has 5mm fast-wicking quick-dry pads that transfers sweat from a riders head and with optimised ventilation and advanced material combined with a new moudling technology the weight of the helmet is down to an incredible 180g. Nothing is sacrificed though as the helmet is still designed, manufactured and tested to the highest safety criteria.

Love how sleek Kask helmets fit, but this one is not easy on the eyes like the Protone.
It looks like the love child of the poc helmet and the old specialized prevail.

We pay a lot to put a Styrofoam bucket on top of our heads. ;-)
The cost to make a helmet is no more than $40.00 we are paying for the design and the time spent on testing.
Saw this on Froome today in the tour. I love my Mojito, but upgrading to a helmet that's still as vented but slightly more aero is super appealing.
That helmet might be aero but can it plow through Sagan?
I noticed pretty much the whole Sky team in this new helmet today in Stage 5, all but Geraint Thomas, he was still rocking the Protone.
How about a segment on what brands of helmets fit what shape heads. I ordered a Kask and couldn't get it to fit. I had the same issue with motorcycle helmets. I have a long narrow skull, so helmets made for round heads (Kask) won't fit. Short of going to shop and trying helmets ad nauseum there's no way of knowing which manufacturers accommodate which shape heads, round, oval, long narrow. Would make a great video.

As everything it seems to have gone full circle, and looks a bit more refined. I'm sure it will sell though being the latest model. To be fare I own a Kask and do rate them as being one of the best out there.
Buy the helmet and very happy. Super comfortable. Soon upload videos.
You should do a video on how to avoid leg cramps while crouching.

I've been going to Loughborough Uni for three years, and always wondered what the big fan noises behind the engineering were!
I like the fact that Kask is making the Valegro on Small size, with my Protone I need to use a hat for snug fit.
Does this helmet allow to store Oakley Radar EV at the front in between the vents ?
Should I buy a road bike, gravel bike or cyclocross bike with road crankset for all year riding and commuting? I'd like to occasionally ride on gravel but I can do without it but would a road bike be too "racey" for commuting? Gravel bikes seem to be a good compromise with the geometry and gearing but don't see too many of them on the markets and they are a bit on the heavier side... #TorqueBack
in the market for a new helmet, this looks good. I've not tried on a Kask but have heard lots of good things.
I recommend either the evade or the prevail. There's a reason why all helmets are starting to look like the ones Specialized designed.
I had a Protone save my life in a horrible accident! Needless to say I am a fan and replaced it with a new Protone.

Wow, now Kask tests for aerodynamics while looking down so they know it is aero for Froomey too.

Not sure if I want to buy this or the protone when it becomes cheaper... The Valegro looks somewhat like the Spesh Prevail, but I'm sure it will be better and lighter. Also I'm currently running the old Infinity model and wanting of a lighter upgrade.

I like Kasks helmets, but the one time I actually tried one on, the cushion thingies at the back of the head conflicted really weirdly with my sunglasses. No matter how I adjusted it up/down, couldn't get it to fit nicely :/
I own a Protone and I have the exact same issue. It is incredibly annoying.
looks really good but they need to make some better color options, the colors they offer now are pretty funky looking.
Watching in the early am hours ...but, - @6:20 I can't stop seeing a "little blue face" lol! Right now where I ride I'm dodging masses of beetles that would go right in that "mouth". Now I need to go watch the race to see if they are wearing it.

It's got a really daft smiley face right in the middle of the front venting. It can't be unseen once you've seen it.
I am guessing that handing over the cash for one of these will look like hand fulls of confetti in a wind tunnel. :)

Fun fact: the glossy white color in size medium (U.S. version) weighs 250 grams. The anthracite matt color weighs just 205. Less paint.

Hi GCN! i am a cyclist. i feel guilty when i am passing someone when i am at my walking pace or attack pace. how to pass them courteously or respectfully?
maybe they should do some investigating in paint choice... black and dark colored helmets are great sellers but they don't cool your head as good as a bright color or white.

Honestly, which helmet I get is almost purely on head shape. Rounder vs more oval or "Asian vs European" head. I really love the protone but its definitely a bit more oval than say the Mojito.
Weight reduction and wind tunnel test but no crash test. It seems like the companies forgot the actual purpose of the helmets.
I've no idea what goes on in a wind tunnel: hint -- wind.
To be honest it looks sooo much better than the Kask Mojito. Always hated the look of this helmet
Really? I thought the Mojito looks so much better than that and a lot of other helmets. I hate the aero look: it takes away the cool curves and replaces them with horrid rounded or squared off features.

I'd assume it's around the $250 mark like other competitors. Not sure if they would price it at $400 as they would probably lose sales to specialized, giro, etc.. Seems like an awesome helmet either way.

For their sponsored helmet review videos, yes. Also, don't forget, if GCN haven't paid the rather large media accreditation fee (approx $20,000 usd) then there's very little of the TdF they're permitted to film. They're missing a trick and losing out on enormous exposure.
Chris, I think you're right. Cycling Maven (whose channel I only just found a week ago) was just hit with being barred from filming in and around the media areas unless he pays $15,000 to the company that seems to host both the TDF and one other race (Vuelta?). I'm not sure who is missing out more here from the American stand-point - GCN or the Tour itself. I'm against watching it through seemingly the only media outlet we Americans have, and GCN would be broadcasted across the world. My guess is that, just like Ferrari, the TDF is clinging to old-world ways of being ultra-controlling of media and broadcast privileges, and that this is really setting them behind, instead of ahead, for the modern world and modern viewers.
One wonders if, in a few years, the Giro de Italia may become the "King" tour if it allows all the media outlets to focus on all facets of it.
Also the Tour only started 5 days ago ! There will be a lot of videos about it coming in the next few days i think, but they need time to film, edit and upload the videos.
They also probably don't want to get too repetitive and upload each year a video like "what is that jersey for ?"

I understand that you have to pay media fees in order to broadcast video, however there's all kinds of things that you can talk about. Like maybe if there was a hugely controversial crash....
Pretending that the Tour doesn't exist is just embarrassing...
It takes time for the facts to surface. Better to hold back from commenting too soon, rather than make a video, upload it, and then have to take it down a few days later for being inaccurate/misleading
I was using that as an example, I agree with you, but my point is that GCN isn't reporting on the Tour at all... Only one quick mention by Dan and Matt a few days ago.

I agree It's crazy how specialized still has one of the most aero road helmets even though it was the first one released into the helmet.
I have both spec. Prevail I and Catlike mixino, and I somehow feel than mixino really fits my head. Prevail is great in any measure but nothing ever fitted me like the Mixino.

Ultra Ugly helmet. Mushroom shapes are so so ugly, the mojito is till the best looking kask helmet, it's got a nice shape and not flat and ugly like the others!
