I had to check if my speakers were off. That's the most impressive thing is how quiet it is. Look forward to see where electric bikes go from here.
Radiofloyd the electric class at the Isle of Man TT are damn fast. I'm sure that technology will trickle down into the consumer market.
was about to write the same thing about my headsets >.
Gay.
compared to a 300 that thing looks silly quick through the corners. props to the rider, he seems to know what he's doing.
I thought his comparison was a bit odd. That thing will be way, way quicker than a 300 below 80mph.
Man. Electric superbikes are so elusive, and the cool prototype bikes like the LS-218 by Lightning Motorcycles and the derivatives of that electric superbike are so awesome. I wish the motorcycle demand for these supersport electric bikes were higher in the US, because, while gas-powered bikes are really cool, an electric supersport that can do 200+mph and give constant torque due to its simple powerplant is just so awesome. I'd love to have one in the garage next to all of my gas-powered superbikes someday
jdwm he said the top speed of this bike is only 125...for the cost involved that's probably pretty low compared to a gas bike of the same price.
I was having a look at the specs for electric bikes a few days ago, the range in them is still pretty rubbish, especially cruising at speed, less than 120 miles/200 km.
I'd love to have one if it had decent range though.
right now they are fun for commuter but racing is still in development
Honestly this is impressive. I love it.
I am just waiting for these things to become long-ranged, quick-charging, and affordable. I doubt it'll happen any time soon, but if it does, I'll be a buyer for sure.
Tim Kreitz Adventures already interesting somewhat for the commuter market with 200km daily ranges
Most I've seen are effectively done at about 60-80 miles, followed by a 4- to 8-hour recharge interval. That would get a rider into big trouble out here in the vast expanses of West Texas. The bikes are definitely improving over time, though. Fingers crossed that they'll advance enough to perform as a normal motorcycle some day.
And lighter!

Look for videos of homemade Electric Motorcycles.
You can start out with a cheap motor, controller, and batteries. And when you have the money, you can buy better components, and sell the previous ones.
Production Battery Electric Vehicles are expensive, but homemade BEVs are more affordable, upgradeable, and personal.
On RUclips, a man named Benjamin, made a whole series, on how to build an electric Motorcycle. And he converted a car too.
Way cool to see this thing flying through the corners with such little noise
Honestly i think electric bikes are cool and interesting but the range is still not nearly enough.
Hopefully batteries will get better, cheaper, and lighter. If so, I'd be thrilled to put one in my garage
how far does your bike go? mine can go 125 miles on a full tank and it must be filled at a gas station...this i can leave plugged in at home or anywhere i go has an outlet...little bikes like this are made for around town use, not long highway trips
Of course they aren't... that's why they're not for me, yet.
I get about 250 miles out of my tank, and filling up is a matter of minutes rather than hours... since i like road tripping electric is still no bueno for me, but i really hope it will be sooner rather than later
Hydrogen fueled cars and bikes is where it should be at. The best option for environment and from what I've seen in regards to range it beats classic gas fueled engines.
It does sound really cool in theory, however I think it's many years away from being a viable solution for mass-produced vehicles.
Honestly, I think more efficient internal combustion engines will still play a big role for many years to come, things like Koeniggsegg's freevalve system might keep them around for a while
Yes but when I'm out on my bike and I'm low on fuel I can stop at a petrol station and have it filled up and ready to go in a couple of minutes.
If you're out on an electric bike and you're nearly out of juice you're gonna be waiting around a long ass time before you can get going again.
I'm impressed, but the no beast mode noise? I don't know if I could live without that sound in my ears.
I really enjoy riding through back country roads, enjoying sights, smells etc..I can see where the lack of noise from a conventional bike would add to that experience.
Rafael DaSilva, Brazil on Mulholland !!!! Great Rider !!!!
Rafael daSilva fodase, pork chop
Rafael daSilva you're a bitch
Did he bring along a power bank and USB charger? Hahaha.. Just kidding. Nice bike!
I love it. Hopefully I'll be able to afford an electric motorcycle soon. I don't mind the lack of sound.
According to loud pipes saves lives! This rider will instantly be run over by a fighter jet, jumbo jet, trucks, suvs, cars, skateboards, bicycles, scooters, razor scooters, roller blades, air craft carriers, and submarines as soon as he gets on the road because it's too quiet.
On a side note, that's pretty awesome bike!
Pretty cool! Stealthy!
TAOFLEDERMAUS hi👋
Too quite.. I rarely get video of electrics since you can't hear them coming
I bet deer wouldn't hear them coming too!
Yes, deer tend to stay where they are while an electric moto rides past. There's numerous videos and stories of riding on electric moto very close to deer and they do not spook.
Distracted drivers and pedestrians are very dangerous though... that is why road race rules have electric moto riders install a sound generating device - a cheap and light weight car alarm is typical for this application.
don't you dare shoot this bike
Thanks for the great vid RNickeyMouse! Your vid/photo work is awesome. If any of you are in the market for a Zero Motorcycle that's 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, 1-2 cents per mile, no oil changes/spark plugs/valve adjustments, single speed (all torque), perfect for LA commuting, then visit Hollywood Electrics in West Hollywood for a test-ride. We love all bikes, so hey, don't knock'em 'til you've tried them. After your test-ride, feel free to heap on the critique, or just ride back to the shop with a big smile. 901 N. Fairfax Ave., West Hollywood.
HollywoodElectrics Yummy, you guys are only a few blocks from Canter's! Test ride and a pastrami Ruben.
Oh hell yeah. More Russian dressing! Also, highly recommend their marzipan Choco Dipped Almond horn.
Absolutely brother. I have yet to see a test riders get off one of these without a big smile and a change in attitude
wont happen in my lifetime but some of you younger guys are gonna miss the sound of an exhaust someday, ; (
Nice Electric Entry...da sound 🔊 at the end Doh ;)))
Cant get over the flappy bodywork
King Troopa - It's not even street legal so it doesn't matter.
Must be a soothing experience to be flicking left to right through those canyons without it making a ridiculous straight pipe sound. I think I'll own an electric bike one day but of course will always have the good ol petrol motorcycles that we use today
My friend i have spent all of my giga for next 32 years to see your video .....
But i am really satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍
Grazieeeee
The future is going to be fun
that sound so preety cool bro 👍
the first time i saw a electric dirtbike i was super impressed how quiet it was doing a wheelie into balboa island on the bridge
I never thought I would say this about an electric vehicle but this is fucking great. I love how it sounds. The future is now CYBERPUNK AS FUCK.
Awesome vid. I realise these are the future but it's still bizarre to see one go past.
I had the chance to play with a Zero SR for a weekend when I was a salesman at a dealership that sold Zero Motorcycles. I cannot say enough good things about these bikes. I think the high price tag, limited range and charge times are the only real downside. They are otherwise very fast and very fun to ride.
Nice to see a lot of positive comments here:)
Met a few police officers in Denver Colorado who are issued zero electric motorcycles. They enjoy them !!
Man, he should have a playing card in his spokes so we can hear him coming.
I like the sound to be honest :D
It's the sound of the future.
I live in California where lane splitting is legal, but I'm worried to ride one of these things because of how quiet they are. We have too many distracted drivers that text while driving and also don't use their blinkers. I'm sure that thing is agile as hell, but I like having the sound of a loud exhaust to let people know I'm nearby on freeway. Maybe cards on the spokes to make it louder? 😂
As much as I admire the technology of these bike I'm old skool love the noise of a bike roaring through the revs so it's just not the same for me!!
No problem. Get both and see which one you ride more
Giù il ginocchio nel futuro 🤙💪
Really like what he did with the rear suspension.
Do like the original look better.
Why he didn't modified the SR instead of the FXS i don't know. Costs maybe?
80 mile range ... nice and how long to recharge the bike ?
very interresting! i generally dont like electric vehicles cus im a petrolhead but this i could get into! i also like the tesla cus its crazy fast from what i've seen! very interresting to see how these will develop over time! thanks for sharing
does the motor gets over heat, mine does when motor temp pass 200 F* and it goes to slow mode.
I like old school :)
I wonder how difficult it would be to give it more "engine braking" and turn that into power generation to help recharge?
"I keep it at Sport." I do the same on my '16 Zero S!
2:17 great shot
imagine him doing a high speed pass and all u hear is
“ eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeummmm “
This looks better than prior e bikes to me. I imagine that the racer who gets used to this then rides a gas bike will complain that he can only feel t the traction limit. On this vid you can hear the tires chirp and scrub when they are working hard.
The sound while accelerating is half of the fun, you can't get that with a e-bike
Ride o ne,I dare ya
Keep uploading plz
Whats the situation with the gearing?
but wait there's more! If you call now, you will receive a free cake mixing kit at no extra charge!
What does that hold in gasoline equivalent in electric energy? About 2gallons.
doesn't have a loudest growl of exhaust, but that was fast..
no thx i need the amazing sound that those 2 wheel's beauties make
Why rnickey doesnt have some new vids?
what the camera he used ?
.. Hard down with it
then boom!!! a soccer mom didn't know you were there
Like.
Needs some Akrapovic playing cards in the spokes.. Like or loathe, for sure they’re the future
This bike is impressive, however I hate the lack of sound. One of the best things about bikes are the SOUNDS! There's nothing like going to the races, whether it be car or bike races, and hearing the amazing sound those machine produce. I don't want the awesome sounds to disappear, but unfortunately it's starting to look that way...
Why did you edit out the part of the video where the little girl on a banana-seat bike passed him at the hairpin with no lean or knee drag?
THIS should be the REAL Ninja xD
Could be perfectly used for a drive by, no one would ever hear you coming.
That thing would sound mean with a austin racing exhaust on it XD
Is this our future bike??
And here I am wondering why zero hasn't made this yet?
Wow, so great !
I always hated loud motorcycle sound too, it hurts my tiny ribcage when riding ... (unpopular opinion, I know ...)
2:20 too much lean angle for the amount of speed he was carrying? and so he had to suddenly steer toward the turn to get the bike to come back up?
What I'm talking about happens at about 2:22. LOL, I fucking love that you're the rider in the video and you responded to my question. I really did not expect that. You're very skilled, it's obvious. I'm a beginner level rider, and I feel like I've done this same thing, and I was wondering if its because I wasn't carrying enough speed for how much I was trying to lean.
I say he should update the body work but it still looks cool
Ah oh this is the future of motorcycles. SO fking quiet
You want a quiet motorcycle with no soul? ..wow
You haven't ridden one if you think it has no soul.
Thatmanstu Moto Tours An electric motor of any sort is soulless. The whole point of motor sports IS THE MOTOR!!
@IllestRate
Keep saying this, maybe someday you convince yourself.
But we all know loud pipes don't save lives, but are just annoying for others and for owners with low self esteem.
I hear loud pipes in my car, too bad its after they allready past me....
I loved the sound of my 1100 moto guzzi. Now i dont miss it for a second.
《Zero DS 2013 23000km》
Wrong loud pipes has been proven false. And if you depend on other people to notice you you shouldn't be on the road
Rode a Zero Motorcycle before at a test event that was going on at dealership. Those bikes are a lot of fun. I got back from the test ride and I said "How much is it". The rep replied "15,000". No thanks. It's FZ07 performance for used R1 money.
Motor and battery are good for 300000 miles. How many bikes, repairs, and maintenance will you pay for in that time?
They race Electric bikes at the Isle of Man TT races every year. Worth an optic..
The question is does akrapovic make a slip-on for it? xD
vroom vroom becomes zoom zoom
as much as I hate to admit between the tesla model S p100d and the lightning streetbike were all in trouble.
Just watching him ride was very unnerving for me.
280lbs?! damn
sounds like the cars in the jetsons
That sound tho 0:35
swap the SR motor is a good move.
NEW VIDEOS??????????????????
the seat looks so unconfrontable :D
the knee on the ground is louder then the bike xD
I NEED the noise of an engine. It's just not the same. If I ever have an electric anything it will be along side my main ride.
Exactly how I feel.
Дайте два!!!
WHERE ARE YOU RNICKY!
So how do you rev-bomb the oblivious broad who pulls out in front of you?
Element of Kindness
Barry Manilow's "Mandy".
Too bad capacitors aren't up to the task yet. Instant fill up. Release of power. I think both caps and batteries are in our future.
Caps will never be "up to the task" because they are not designed to power devices. The voltage a cap provides (and thus, the current in the circuit) drops as it's being discharged. It is an intentional behavior, and changing that behavior would turn the cap into a battery.
le bruit est marrant et elle n'ai pas à la ramace elle tourne bien elle l'allure d'une Pocket bike
Id really like a zero for commuting but they are just too damn expensive especially if your buying one from Australia.
Yep, they're in car territory for cost. An interesting project for sure. I'd love one as a commuter, but they're still hopelessly short-legged for weekend rides.
but damn does it rattle, that'd piss me off
I wonder how many bikes do this but you just can't hear over the exhaust noise.
still wind noise
Mine does it @3700 miles odo. Just pick some speed and switch the engine off. It will be a concert of "wow, is my motorcycle ok?" noises.
2:19 pod racer.
Honestly that's nice electric motorcycle but, i dont like the sound it's to silence for a motorcycle :)
2:45 "LIttle engine braking" Well engine braking is really important to help you slow down around turns..
Just use rear brake
the crf450 elec motard from australia shits all over this
Cool ride, I wonder if missing engine noise would be a problem?
Isn't it scary to race that thing? You can't hear someone behind you.
And then BAM,got overtaken outta nowhere.
Getting away with the cops from this would be easy I think
That constant whining would drive me nuts.
More torque than an r1.
AgoProduction &Co And with a top speed less than a SV650S.
it competes with small child size bikes
Eh! Shoutout to MotoAmerica!
I don't like how it's so quiet.
Man, I'm not the most adept rider, I've never ridden a lighter Sportbike, but he looks a little choppy. Maybe it's the lightness.
