Don’t let their consistently blowing it since 2017 distract you from the fact the Sens have more playoff series wins than the leafs since Auston Matthews joined the NHL (2016-17)

GO SENS GO!
@@Mike_Potapov factual
Stutzle was injured the whole season. Wrist injury, couldnt shoot, still had 70 points. Hes gonna bounce back.
Then Florida injured him so he couldn't play at all for the first stretch since he got drafted so he doesn't get injured much considering how many teams attack Stutzle and everything they focus on him because he's so talented but weak and small it looks like. Mentally Stutzle is very strong it seems like he can play through injuries and still produce. 2 years ago he was so close to 100 points being healthy, this season he should get over 100.
@@sensfan7550That's the most insane rationalization I've ever heard 😂😂😂
Stutzle sure had a lot of stamina last regular season although it helps that he's approaching his mid-twenties and still has plenty of time left before his body wears out so much that becoming a coach or team executive is better for him than remaining a player.
@people3865 he's right, when Tim Stutzle is on his game he gets very dangerous player to play against plus great puck movements, he's that dangerous. That's why other teams are going after him, Brady Tkachuk is standing up for him basically
@@coreyhill681 It makes sense that Brady Tkachuk and Stützle have become mainstays on that team because they were picked so high during their NHL Draft years. That said, unless that team of theirs sees playoff action this coming season, it may be that either will request a trade OR GM Staios won’t rule out trading either. I don’t think any Sens fan wants a repeat of the Oilers’ so-called decade-of-darkness although unless the Sens see playoff action during any of this season, the 2025-26 one and 2026-27 one, there will be a decade-of-darkness. I think it’ll only be a matter of months if not weeks before Staios, who made it to a Stanley Cup final with the Oilers in 2006 as a d-man, will, should the Sens struggle enough to start the 2024-25 regular season, says that enough is enough and start making some moves, potentially pretty big ones, to try to send as loud message as possible that the status quo isn’t good enough. Sens fans nonetheless only hope that their favourite team will start the coming regular season with a bang as last regular season the Canucks had.
Not hoping, we are PRAYING. Make or break year. Great work as always though Shannon!
Amen
Hopefully the Sens will at the very least be in the hunt for a wildcard this spring.
@@mattlabrecque7842 Sad that we judge success on the "playing meaningful games in March" mantra......Uuuughhh! Go Sens Go! Love 'em ad never leave 'em. And less they do like The Expos and leave town.
Yup Sens talk, it will be a rebuild next year which will see Brady, Groulx, Stuzla, and Sanderson traded. Unmark to will be gone. Nothing good will come accept first over all if we miss the post season.
Division is too good
The Ullmark trade is by far the biggest change. Last year we lost so many game just because Fourpisalo couldn't stop a beach ball.
Sens were in the wildcard race only a couple seasons ago with Talbot in net. Ullmark is a massive upgrade that should get them the extra points here and there to have them in the wildcard race.
Only if they Sens don't blow it at the start of the season and put themselves out of playoffs contention. Let's hope the team Staios put together is better balanced and are more consistent.
That 2017 sens team was one of my favorites prime Bobby Ryan Prime Karlsson prime Hoffman(pre-Karlsson beef) as a person who didn’t have a dog in the fight the 2017 playoffs were super entertaining
Ullmark will keep them in games, but he can't score goals. Gotta tighten things up defensively.
Ottawa had very similar defensive metrics to boston :)
I totally agree with your point, just find it funny that you said Ullmark can’t score goals, when he is one of the few goalies to actually score a goal 😂
@@danmcgruer1870 Can he score 15 or more per season? No, but he'll give them a chance to win every night. That's good enough for me.
@@Tomatohater64hey who knows maybe he goes crazy this year and pots 15
@@liammckay3018 True at least Boston and Toronto are good in the regular season, but can not do it in the playoffs .
Chychrun was a defensive liability, with no physicality, and bad puck movement. All he had was his shot. Not sad to lose him. Losing Joseph and Kelly, two of our PKers, and Bränny, a decent bottom pairing defenceman, will hurt. Assuming Kleven takes the next step, our replacements play well, and we don’t have injuries, we have a good, wildcard roster, IMO. Also, to address your comments on Stützle and Brady : Stü was injured with a wrist injury most of the year, which effectively stopped him from shooting and working the puck as he can. That impacted Brady too, since he lost his main setup man.
Definitely annoyed were losing a guy we paid a couple of firsts for only to give him up for nothing. Just horrible business consistently.
@@Amm17aryeah pretty bad asset management there. I think Jensen will be a better fit though. It’s one of those weird trades where the value was in Washington’s favor but it probably made Ottawa as a team better. Obviously they woulda got more if they could but I’m guessing the whole league knew Chychrun was a bad fit and Ottawa needed to move him. Just a fumble by Dorion, shoulda done his homework before trading for him
@@taranloses Yeah classic instance of a GM trading for the name and not the player.
Take in Staios had to clean up Dorion’s mess. He wasn’t Staios’ guy
Glad someone else said it. Chyk was a mess and a pertutual turnover machine.
They made a great trade in goalie.
I think we're a fringe playoff team right now, probably fighting for a wild card spot. I'm hoping we make it though, it's been too long. 🤞
i don't think they'll be that close unless both wild cards go to the atlantic, even then there's still 5 teams that are better on paper.
Unprecedented run of ineptitude......The Buck Stops Here!
Go Sens Go! Playoffs or bust in 2025.
I’m a lifelong Sabres fan who lives in Ottawa and remembers 2007 like it was yesterday. But when Eugene died I remember thinking, hey maybe I can actually be a fan of the Sens now. Underdoggism is a real syndrome and I have it.
No matter where I lived and I live in kitchener ontario I will always be a sens fan since I was a 7 year old boy I'm 39 you will always be a Sabres fan no matter how hard you try to like another team
The idea is that these guys get better. Pinto becomes the 60 + point player, Norris scores 30 - 40 goals, Stutzle is 100 + point guy, Brady does what Brady does, Batherson finds his point per game consistency and guys like Greig, Ostapchuk and Halliday break out! We need guys to reach potential!
I think Halliday could come into his own when he gets called up due to injury. 3rd defensive pairing looks shaky but Martinapalo and Guenette are good depth. Jensen will help as Chychrun while good offensively was terrible defensively.
Another year with lots of optimism. They have to live up to it eventually
buffalo fans would like to have a conversation with ya
Not be so much, but REDBLACKS are finally winning more games so far, so maybe Sens looking at the Redblaks they can finally turn around as well. Our pro teams have had a tough season. 7:50
@@matthewgregory8218 Redblacks are finally promising. After many seasons of winning like 4 games they actually seem good this year. Good sign for the city??
Go Sens Go
Sanderson/zub were one of the best defensive pairs last season analytically, i think adding jensen will give chabot the stable, responsible defensive partner he needs on his right to thrive. If kleven can make that 3rd pair LHD spot out of camp that will be a good add, jbd was decent last year, with plenty of room for improvement, and hamonic will be there to teach kleven the ways of being a physical d man in the NHL. Pairing chychrun with chabot was not sustainable, both have serious defensive warts and need a responsible partner to have their backs, not to mention one having to play their off wing, which makes it even more challenging. There are lots of prospects who have promise regardless of their draft position, and i can see a player like stephen halliday breaking out and earning a spot on the top 6 in Ottawa by the end of the season, as well as probably most of a season of ostapchuk in Ottawa as 4C(in my eyes, he's one of those players who teams seek out when they are trying to win. Super high compete and hates nothing more than the other team having the puck on their sticks). I think the sens have a better mix this year than in years past, but only time will tell. I cannot waot to see playoff brady
Management blew it last year. You don't wait until you are dead last in the east, a week before Christmas and pretty much eliminated from any real chance at the playoffs, to fire the coach. DJ should have been down the road before the middle of November. Heads better roll early if they get off to a similar start this year unless they want a completely empty building in the second half of the season. Ottawa fans patience is at an end when it comes to excuses and slow actions.
Moved to Ottawa this summer, very excited to see my leafs up here. Could not change my ahaha
I love how people are sleeping on the sens this is our year making a deep playoff run everybody watch……. (I’m delusional)
Well it's completely fine to believe just think last year everyone thought we were contenders and we stunk this year everyone counts us out therfore we just might have a good year
A lot of those quality players didn't play a full season or even 70 games. If the team stays healthy and Ullmark makes a difference, which I think he will, the Atlantic division will be clogged like usual, all of the teams "lesser than Florida", Tampa and Boston have significantly improved, that includes the Habs, who knows what a healthy Kirby Dach, which the Habs had unlocked on the wing of Suzuki and with Caufield, and also near the end of the season played a lot of time as second line center and had success, last season was a real waste with that guy, body checked legally but into Chicago's bench, torn ACL and MCL at once by an ex-hab high round pick too who's now a 7th d-man for Chicago at best, Jarred Tinordi, he's a giant and he destroyed what I saw in that 2 game sample ( I was at one), a Kirby Dach that was skating faster and doing everything better, if when coming back, is fully back to where he left off, with a fully healed from surgery Caufield, yes, he still played last year but he wasn't 100% yet. If everything aligns, Slafkovsky keeps improving, Dach gets back on track to having at least 65pts+ and Caufield gets 40+ goals, Suzuki closer to 90-95pts and Monty/Primeau continue improving every season like they have, I consider MTL to be likely in the same pack as Detroit, Buffalo and Ottawa (who also need their main players to stay healthy, Montreal finally broke their streak of record breaking seasons in missed gamed due to injury last year, but still, Savard played 60 games, Guhle played 60 or so, Newhook just 54 and so on) if Ottawa gets rid of that problem, watch out for those 4 teams to go ahead have one or two get ahead of and snatch the 3rd and 4th position (or just 1 snatching the 4th and that being enough to make playoffs).
Shortly, without the Habs fan text : With a rebuild almost over, Ottawa find themselves in the same position with almost over rebuilds, along with Buffalo, Detroit, Montreal. Now who will separate themselves from the pack and make the playoffs, we can't know yet, rosters for any of those 4 teams might not be complete yet, some have cap space even higher than Ottawa, which is close to 2 million in those 4 teams. We could see 2 of those 4 teams make the playoffs even if progress is happening the way it should with many of the younger stars in each of the team, and some veterans will help a lot, Ottawa might have the best goaltending situation with Ullmark as #1 goaltender. I'm not a Sens hater, nor a big fan, I was a hater in the '00s/early to mid 10's because they would often have heavy, physical games because every points mattered in the old Northeast division, but things have changed since then. Chabot and Stuztle staying healthy is very important, as well as Josh Norris.
Stutzle put up a career high in assists last year with an injured wrist. I think he’ll take a step next year. I’d be impressed but not surprised if he hits 100 points in a healthy season.
I've always liked and rooted for Ottawa because they're a red headed step child team, kind of like the Islanders in NY. The teams I like, Flames, Ottawa, Islanders, all look to be among the downtrodden this year, but if the young talent finally shows up, maybe the Sens have the best chance of doing something positive.
Much better with pinto in the line up at training camp I think if he plays well Ottawa will be close if not in the playoffs
Honestly, adding a top tier goalie might be exactly what they needed, since most of the depth needed might come from that great prospect pool and they lack pretty much nothing...maybe some more sandpaper. As a habs fan, I really like where this is going, it's good for the rivalry ! Love our games, both young talented core, will be exciting long term !!
Both Habs and Sens should take the next step but realistically Montreal isn't as ready for the playoffs as Otrawa yet but Habs will make it in 2 or 3 years for sure.
@sensfan7550 Maybe sooner, we don't know how ready Hutson, Reinbacher and Mailloux, plus Roy and Beck are so close to NHL ready. I think it's one more year, but Ottawa is sure ready, Ullmark will be a good upgrade !
what great prospect pool? the sens' pipeline is drying up at an alarming rate, because their drafting...well, it sucks. yakemchuk is their best prospect and they reached on him too.
@@jean-philippedoyon9904 i believe hutson and mailloux are ready. but if we keep barron, mailloux's likely ticketed for laval, because barron isn't waiver exempt anymore. hutson is a special player. he sees the ice in a way no one else in the system does with the possible exception of demidov. put lane in a position to succeed, and he'll be a calder finalist this year. reinbacher should at least start in laval. maybe at year's end we can call him up. no need to rush him. roy is already ready. he'll make the team, and if the roster doesn't change, may well be on L2. beck has a decent chance to make the team out of camp. he probably has a better one if the habs find a way to move dvorak. like roy, beck is an extremely intelligent player.
we can push some of our chips in next year, the habs aren't playoff ready this year. stay the course.
ottawa has an incredible knack for having the whole be less than the sum of their parts. they should be ready. but can they avoid stepping on their own dick?
Very exciting season for the Sens. I think they make the playoffs despite the tough division. Go Sens Go!
I’ve got a feeling that a playoff appearance is gonna come down to the wire for us. I’ll just be happy with meaningful games in March
I might be less exited going into this season than into the previous 3 and perhaps that's a good thing. Expectations aren't high. Hopefully they're surpassed.
Ahh it’s this time of year again. I’m sure I’ll be crying into my pint by the end of November.
Go sens go! Hoping this will finally be the year we get some playoffs again. But I also got my hopes up last year just to be crushed lol
Chychrun out of the dressing room and Ullmark in net could be the difference between failure and fighting for those last two playoff wildcard spots in the East. They've been in desperate need of better goaltending and the right kind of supporting veterans for a while now. It still might be 1-2 years too early to take that next step, because most of the teams ahead of them in last season's standings are either also improving or still strong, but someone besides them could easily falter.
EVERYTHING has to go right if the sens are to make it. Just don't see the improvement to overtake that many teams
You make good videos man
What would be rough is making the playoffs and Ullmark still deciding to walk after the season… retaining quality is hard for Sens.
They need to get off to a good start- it’s what’s sunk them the past couple seasons
#GoSensGo thanks for the vid love it!
Great vid!
I love my team, i cheer for them no matter what but i got a good feeling going into this season i think we can make it
ULLMARK!! he can be the wall but they have to score the goals.
I hear there’s a good draft class coming up
I lived in Ottawa's East end for 5 years and only went to 1 Sens game (Im a Leafs fan). Granted 3 of those 5 years were Covid SO EVERYTHING KEEP OPENING AND CLOSING but yeah as someone who lived in the east end and had to go to the west end for Sens games it was a NIGHTMARE. There's only one bus that goes to the arena and it was 20 minutes late plus traffic so I actually didnt get into the arena till almost the second period. Granted I went first week of the season so maybe its a "im not used to this" thing but why the heck does Ottawa only have 1 bus to the arena one time (forty minutes before puck drop) when that bus was standing room only as there are tons of fans that take transit to avoid the drive going east to west.
What whiteboard do you use? I want it
I dont see this team as a playoff team, but they should be much closer. I think the hope is when this team gels to the point Staios only needs to do small tweaks instead of overhauls, and re-sign who works, then good chemistry will come in the season after, where they can push for that playoff spot, and who knows, maybe Giroux will re-sign to a more team-friendly contract to help Staios make that change needed to push this team into a playoff spot. At least this year we dont have 4 left handed defensemen on this d-core and there is finally a legitimate starter between the pipes. I got hope with Staios. That Ullmark trade was awesome. Not only to get a starter, but to get rid of Korpisalo, whom no one thought would take him, gives me hope..well a lot more than Dorion.
We can do it this year. I believe 🎉
The moves are promising but "we will see" how it all works together.
I think they'll do better, I think they'll punch above .500, but the East is so strong that it'll take a lot more than Ullmark to turn them into playoff contenders. The defense is still a problem, and I'm not sure that the offense has improved much. Giroux's not getting younger, Perron is probably gonna regress and Norris's shoulder is a big question mark. Maybe Pinto, Greig and Sanderson (offensive production) break out to compensate, but those are big if's. Brady needs to keep his attitude in check - I often felt like he overdid it and I don't see how that's supposed to improve the team or the morale. Letting go of Joseph was also a bad move IMO. We shall see, but I think the Sens are still at least 2 seasons away from contending. Andlauer and Staios have a plan, so let's see them play it out.
D is just not good enough.
Gotta make it in this next season it’s been 7 years!!!
With Travis green, I think he works well with developing teams. And the Sens are developing into mean team. I think 2025 is the first year they will make it. The key is, Hope everyone stays healthy and hope the Sens have a good start. With the addition of Ullmark, That will forsure boost our D-core. I bet you, Him and Forseberg will make a great DUO.
I can sadly see this team being on the out looking in, but barely missing by like one or two points, similar to Detroit last year.
Furthermore, Staios has collected not only the right pieces for this team, but quality ones at that, so there is reason for optimism. Either way, looking forward to seeing how Ottawa performs this season.
Kubalik didn't do well in Ottawa compared to his Detroit production. Where do you see him ending up?
Boucher was a late 2nd round/early 3rd rounder taken 10th...Unfair to expect him to be more then a bottom 6 forward at most.
Oh there back.
For a team that has been so bad for so long, their prospect pool is that of a team that has been in the Conference finals the last decade. Takeaway that 2020 draft and this team is even worse than they are now. Trading for DeBrincat and Chychrun trades were team destroying. Wasted two years and lost out on two top ten picks.
That Boucher pick at #10 was ABYSMAL Cossa, Wallstedt, Johnston etc still on the board at 10
Trade for DeBrincat cost them the #7 pick in 2022
Trade for Chychrun cost them the #12 pick 2023
How would a Matthew Savoie and Zach Benson look on the wings and a Wallstedt in Goal?
Team Tkachuk since the 90's
Still think Pinto is the 2C and move Norris to the wing so his shoulders dont take the beating as the main draw man.
That Perron signing makes no sense.
Going to take Staios a couple years to get the Sens out of the death spiral they have been in for nearly a decade.
@cdfmmcche is very good for the locker room and mentoring the young guys in how to win. Giroux doesn't know how to win since he hasn't won a cup before.
Ullmark alone gives me a lot of hope. My issue is if Chabot goes down we do not have any LD to step up into his role with Chych and Branny gone.
They will be better than last season if they stay health. But the division is the strongest one. fighting for a wild card is more reasonable .
Don't see the playoffs happening but I do see them having more points in the standings than last year.
Sens should make it if they dont get any major injuries
Ooohh, i wanted an Alfredsson jersey !...
This season will be interesting for sure. I am PRAYING for playoffs, but the optimism I had in summers past is gone. I hope Andlauer and Staios have made the right mix cause I don't know how much more disappointment I can take
It's bizarre but the lack of depth of left-handed D has all of sudden become a concern. I'm not that worried about the right-side now with Zub, Jensen, JBD and even Hamonic. Last season we had Chabot, Sandy, Chychrun and Branny not to mention Kleven ready down in Belleville. All LHD. Now the left-side looks like Chabby, Sandy and Kleven (provided he makes the team out of camp). If Chabot goes down with injury, that side becomes a concern quickly.
I think it's going to depend on their goaltending. If Ullmark plays as well as he did in Boston, I think Ottawa will be hard pressed to miss a playoff spot. Or at very least, they will be better, even if they don't make it to the playoffs.
I mean they gotta be better with Ullmark. how many goals did the goalies from last season let in on the very first shot of the game last season?
If Norris doesnt get healthy and stay healthy, it'll be devastating for them. They need that scoring depth badly.
Hoping that lengthy period of no home games doesn't completely derail tge whole season...
I hope norris can excel on the wing and we can have pinto second line center and greig third line center
No clue. Their more balanced but no depth what so ever
I'm Nobody Important and I agree with you so so frequently. In this video you are right saying Brady T's temper hurts the team.
I agree as well. I am hoping that seeing his brother's success in Florida gets Brady to hold his temper.
He needs to keep himself in check. It's no coincidence that the team started to nosedive after he shit on the fans for booing after a game.
For most teams, it's easy to figure out what the GM's general strategy should be. "Reload to stay on top." "Tear down to rebuild." "Continue the rebuild." For Ottawa (and Buffalo, also) it's a lot trickier. They're getting the results of a team that needs to start a rebuild, but they were never the major factor you expect such a team to be. It almost feels like they've plateaued too low. Something needs to change, but whether that something is as small as a new practice routine or as major as a whole new game philosophy I don't know.
New coach and proven No.1 in net ought to move the needle upward, provided Ullmark doesn’t pull a something or other his first practice.
How does a spread out top 9 look?
Greig - Stutzle - Giroux
Tkachuk - Pinto - Batherson
Perron - Norris - Amadio
Insulate Norris, pinto is ready to take on more responsibility, and Greig is a nice gritty guy with skill to play with top flight players.
Play each line ~18 mins a night (play the line that's "going" on any given night closer to 20) and give whatever fourth line 6 mins
Sorry but you don't put an 8 million dollar player on the third line.
Tkachuk-stu-G
Norris-Pinto-Batherson
Perron-Greig-Amadio
@@ShayneMacGregor did you miss the part of my post after the lines? This isn't about having a top line second line and third line, this is about balancing out your top 9 and playing whatever line is going as the top line on any given night.
Each line gets roughly 18 mins a night leaving 6 mins for the fourth line. (Obviously PP time and PK time eats into that)
Let's be real here, Norris is being paid 8M but as of right now he's a bit of a broken asset, to properly manage him I think you have to insulate him with a strong vet (Perron) Norris has also shown that he is a good 200' hockey player and really should be in the middle of the ice (as much as I'd love to see him play wing and be moved out of that C ice position, less responsibility, the fact that he could focus more solely on the offensive side of things, and get back to goal scoring and having fun playing the game)
I think if you want to put Norris on the wing your top 9 should look as such:
Norris - Stützle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Pinto - Giroux
Perron - Greig - Amadio
Or you flip flops giroux and batherson to continue to insulate Stutzle on faceoffs, especially in his defensive zone.
In my original post I like the idea of spreading out your "grit" over multiple lines, having Greig, Tkachuk, and Perron as your "energy/feisty guy" on each line, then Stutzle, Pinto, Norris as your trigger men, and then Giroux, Batherson, Amadio as your "set up guys, who can still bury the biscuit".
I really like the idea of not having to rely heavily on one specific line, but spreading your skill, grit, and finishing ability over three lines, and then on any given night you can give a bit more ice time to the line that is playing the best. Creating internal competition (everyone wants playing time, and this would help to create that culture, less I deserve to play, and more I want and need to play well or that second or third line will take my ice time mentality) I want all three of these lines to believe they can be the top line on the team.
Maybe this is just me. It could work, or you just run the same old "put your top guns together and slot everyone in where you can" creating potentially a more I am the only line that will be going tonight, and if we get shut down our team will lose mentality. Pushing that top line to play 20-22 minutes a night, possibly over playing them, and risk injury or fatigue over an 82+ game schedule.
Just my 2 cents
Who drops out of the top 4 to let Ottawa in?
Bolts
Leafs and Bolts
Wildcard
I’ll say watching the games that Tyler Boucher played in Belleville, he was good, noticeable for sure, ended up injured most of the year, so I’m expecting him to really show us this year what he’s capable of
Really hoping Ottawa breaks the drought and is in playoffs this year. Almost all remnants of Melnick years are out. So should be good to go. Strong start out of the gates is gonna be key. And not playing catch up all season.
Stutzle will have a bounce back season and Sanderson's game will reach a new level. I wonder how Ullmark will do now that he is no longer a Bruin. Would love to see the Sen's & the Sabre's make the playoffs and meet in the first round.
Everything for ottawa is about internal growth. Pinto stuzle Sanderson and greig being so critical
They can be a playoff team under the right coach. They probably won't be a playoff team though.
Highly doubtful! Us fans can pray for miracles but my magic 8ball says not looking good. I expect they just miss the playoffs and are sellers not buyers at trade deadline.
My guess is that I think, Tkachuck and Stutzle will be around 95 -100 points this year combined. And for the playoffs, They really don't have an option this year lol. The depth is there. And this is my prediction for there starting lineup... I
Tkachuck Stutzle Giroux
Perron Norris Bathersson
Greig Pinto Amadio
Gregor Ostapchuck Macewen
Sanderson Zub
Chabot Jenson
Kleven Bernard- Docker
Ullmark
Forseberg
Well Fla,Boston,Tor, and Tb have been beating the division for quite some time. This is the year I see Tb take a step back(going to end up looking like Pit but without Stamkos, that hurts....Jake doesn't replace Stamkos but it's comparable...)
Detroit yezerplan is at best disastrous, Buffalo is right their, and Ottawa should make it this year. Clearly Mtl is still not their with that goaltending but 1 year or 2 and they should be a top dog.
Bos,Tor,Fla,Ott,Tb,Buff,Mtl,Det
Your going to be happy when I tell you I think DAL wins cup over NJ.
Please do video on Steve yezermen gm. I want to see Larkin in NYR for Kakko Chytyl 1st 2nd and 4th.
Our entire Right side is better along with our goaltending..If we are finally healthy we should be close .
I'm not a Sens fan by any means, but a team plays vastly different in front of a goalie they trust and have confidence in, and Ullmark should make a huge difference. He doesnt have to be a star. If he just plays to his ability, i believe you'll see a much more relaxed and focused team.
I am hoping that this team is at least competing for a wild card spot during the last quarter of the season.
For me, Jensen and Norris are the big question marks this season. I'm fine with everyone else. Well.....I guess I'm also praying that Green can coach this team to the playoffs. Maybe he's the biggest question mark.
I would love to say that Ottawa will make the playoffs, but there are too many questions and the competition in the Atlantic is stiff. I like their goalie tandem and I am happy they replaced offensive defenseman with defensive Ds.
if goaltending was average last year...they would have been in...so yes...they should make playoffs as ulmark has been a good steady goaltender his whole career
I'm sure it was completely unrelated, but it was funny that Joseph got moved immediately after Perron signed. He went after Zub by mistake last year, must've been afraid he'd get it right this time & take Joseph out in practice 😂
How is the Sharks making the playoffs before the Sens actually not entirely delusional what the hell is wrong in Ottawa
Can't look at this in a vacuum. The 2024/25 Kanata Centurions might be better than the 2023/24 Kanata Centurions, but other teams in their Conference made more significant improvements. Also, beware of Bruins bearing goalie gifts.
If Brady can put up points like he has with how many pims he's had, imagine what he can do if he stays out of the box
Still probably 3 years from the playoffs
Tough division
Sens will be successful if Chabot and Norris are healthy.
2025 Sens will be what the Canucks were in 2024.
Go Sens
anybody that thinks sanderson is overrated has clearly not watched him play or is just clueless.. the guy is insanely good
They might just might finish 7th in the Atlantic being better then Buffalo but i still think they finish 8th in the Atlantic
They give players away to easy. Staios seems like a sucker.
Stutzle boutta cook
Teams that have not won 2 rounds in the playoffs recently are better off to trade down in the first round at least once and to not pay out big contracts even to good players who could end up being worth it.
The reason why is bad teams can lose with anyone and the cap that is spent on the Sens core could be going to cap dump trades or 1 year contracts the sens can trade at the deadline to profit.
It is like when the Jackets gave Johnny that awful contract. The rest of the team has never been good enough for him to matter. Stutzle and Brady do not matter on a bad team and the cap of all of them is wasted.
The Sharks just did the same thing with Toffolli so I understand very well. He cant be traded to anyone unless he agrees to it. A team that just won 2 rounds in the playoffs recently should be giving out a contract like that not the sharks.
Even the Ullmark trade is bad for the Sens since he is a rental for a 1st round pick. I understand the Sens dumped a bad contract too but I would rather have kept the 1st and rebuild. If the sens can retrade Ullmark for a 2nd or a 1st later I will like this trade a lot more. If they give him 5 to 6 mill a year it will almost certainly be foolish.
Sens are trying to make the playoffs, not tank the year like the Sharks
@@sens_outlook Sadly the sharks are not tanking anymore. The Toffoli contract flaunts that.
The Sens would have made the playoffs long ago had they never stopped rebuilding and got a smarter GM / President / Head scout combination.
Trading a 1st away on a rental player and a bad contract is what a bad team would do.
@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants sharks aren't necessarily "tanking" but they still want a high lottery pick. And even tanking teams have to give big contracts to some players, just to reach the cap floor.
If Pinto wasn't suspended, I think the Sens would have made the playoffs.
Why not GSG
