      really? based on what? the fact they bounce the leafs every april? big deal.
      In fact the bruins are the disaster artist of the NHL. I mean, other than that great Tim Thomas 2011 season in which he outplayed Roberto Luongo in the finals, boston has lost series up 3-0 (versus the flyers) and multiple instances of them coughing up 3-1series leads.

    Bruins fan here, and general hockey fan too.
    Will the Bruins turn it around? No, it would take a miracle at this point.
    Can they turn it around? sure, but ive lost my faith, its the SSDD problem. Nothing is changing game to game.
    Who is not to blame: Montgomery, Pasta, the fourth line, and Swayman.
    Monty has been given a terrible team and the defense has disappeared, Swayman has been left out to dry on almost every shot since the start of the season.
    Who is to Blame: The Clowns in managment that ive been screaming about for years now. Sweeny and Neely needed to go years ago, before they did long term damage. Here we go the pain has begun. The defense is non exsistent. No stick checking, no boxing out, blown coverage every second the pucks in the D zone. This should be your strong suit, HOW????? Even if they fixed the D and stopped giving up so many goals, they still wouldnt win, but at least it would be close. Too many bad/overpaided contracts on this team with too much term.
    I think Marchands career is coming to a quick end. He just isnt himself anymore, hes lost a few steps. We could see it even last year, losing Bergeron has deffinitly affected him. Zadorov has been an absolute BUST. E. Lindoholm started good, but has been invisible lately. H. Lindolm gave us 1 decent year, has been a BUST. Lorhei took a massive step back, but hes still very young so i give him a bit of a pass. Its been an absolute disaster. Coyle, zacha, geekie have gone from decent to wastes of cap space, along with Zadorov, both Lindolhms (i give E. a bit of a pass cause we have seen some good things, hes just slumping i think really bad).
    Expectations: going in I expected Boston to take a bit of a step back but be in the playoffs and maybe win 1 round at best, as wildcard team. Now: MASSIVE step back, almost nuclear bad dropoff, its time to sell and fire Sweeny/Neely before any more damage is done. This team needs a MASSIVE retool, probably needs a rebuild but with players like pasta, mcavoy, and swayman, really you just need better pieces around them.
    If Monty gets fired i would be really sad, because i love him as a coach, and i dont see this as his fault.
    Sidenote: SHOOT THE PUCK! Im getting tired of seeing some decent players constantly pass up pretty good shooting chances. Its so frustrating to watch. DEFEND THE HOUSE! too many high danger chances/shots on Swayman, hes getting creamed out there and its the defenses fault.
    As a Bruins Fan, in 3 weeks would i be surprised if they have won a bunch and turned it around, sadly no....because thats what the Bruins do. Im just hoping this year, they finally get exposed as pretenders. You "bulked" up to compete with the big dogs (florida cough) now, youll be lucky if you even see them in the spring LMAO.
    Just looking at the roster makes me sad. The only scary thing is pasta, you shut him down, you win the game, and with that defense, Swayman doesnt look good either. Once you score 2 against Boston, especially early, i start to worry. At 3, game already feels lost. In other years, it still felt winnable at points, now, it feels like another long night.
    Is it Fixable? No. Theres too many issues and problems. Boston would have to give up so much just to dump contracts, and they dont have anything anymore. They gave all of their assets away over the years to stay relevant, now its finally come back to bite them. If they won a Stanley Cup then sure, its fine, but just look at the recent playoff runs. They are constantly beaten, by very good teams sure, but, if youre also a good team, you should break through sometimes.
    I think its time to give Lysell a real shot. Actually see if you have something left, if not, I....I just dont know anymore. Roll over and die. Stop acting and talking like you have a good team, because you dont. Maybe if we could see some progress game to game id be more optimistic.
    PROVE ME WRONG BOSTON, YOU ARE THE ONLY TEAM WHO ALMOST NEVER DOES.

    • @djpliz
      @djpliz 21 день назад

      @@Brurat11 i missed the game today so i wont comment on that part, but getting a shutout with Korpi is huge. You must remember tho, this is the Flyers, so while a win is a win, its nothing too impressive even with a shutout. I cant comment on how they played because again, I missed the game, but clearly they must have played somewhat better in general cause they won. With that in mind, while yes, its a huge 2 points, there are a lot of teams around us with at least 1 game in hand. There is however, one saving grace, and that it is still early like you said. Like I said before, its not over yet, but from what ive seen and how the play has been, its not looking good. Its one game, they need to show more, especially against lower tier teams currently, but getting a bit of revenge is good, and showing a little bit of fight and bounceback is also good.
      Assuming the NHL app is giving me the correct info and my dumbass is reading it correctly. Boston is sitting outside of the playoffs tied with CBJ at 11 points (CBJ holds the last Wildcard spot) tho CBJ has 2 games in hand, however the are getting smacked by Washington currently so they may lose one game in hand but still be ahead. Ottowa and NYI both sit at 10 points, with ottowa also having 2 games in hand. (they play tonight while the Islanders dont) so ottowa could jump over Boston. NYI have one game in hand. Its a log jam since its still early, but, if Boston doesnt start playing better consistantly and showing progress, I dont believe in them. We shall see.

    • @Brurat11
      @Brurat11 21 день назад

      @@djpliz yeah I see where you are coming from. The flyers played terrible that’s pretty much the only reason we won. We still can’t capitalize on chances and have penalty problems, but I feel these issues can be easily fixed with the eventual gelling of the team.

    • @djpliz
      @djpliz 21 день назад

      @@Brurat11 If they can stop commiting so many penalties, or have their PK get miles better, then the games should get closer and closer, but if it takes a bottom team like the flyers to play like crap, just for Boston to win, its over.
      Maybe gelling of the team will also help, thats why ive given E. Lindholm a bit more patience as well, while hes been quiet recently, he has at least shown some good signs. They definitly have time, but it is running out quickly. Season can role fast, and with other teams still hanging around, if you fall behind too many, it gets very difficult.

If you holdout that long and demand that high of a pay raise with that little of a track record, you better stand on your head more nights than not, or at least have have 90% saves. Swayman hasn't been good. The team on the other hand has been a walking trash heap besides the fourth line and occasionally Pasta and Marchand. Montgomery then proceeded to break up the 4th line and spread them around the lineup looking to shake something up. There's a lot of new lines and Montgomery is trying to figure out who's going to play with who. I get that, but you don't break up the one thing that's been giving you any success. The defense has been a sieve. They'll get better. You don't know puck and they'll be playing when half the league is golfing in 6 months or so. Swayman is a top 5 goalie in the league with a team that's playing hockey the way they should in front of him. They will need another scorer if they want to go anywhere past a second round exit, unless they get a hot goalie which is a possibility.

    This reminds me of the Bruins of the late 50s, the players that led them through a cup-less but competitive decade were aging, retiring or traded out, guys like Fleming Mackell, Johnny Peirson, Ed Sanford, Bill Quackenbush. And they really declined, they traded out their goalie Don Simmons, and tried to patch with the veterans they had left and whatever kids they could find in their farm system. It resulted in 8 seasons of futility. Blaming Swayman is a cop out, when the defense and the offense dries up, it's tough to shine. I think Swayman's numbers will eventually improve, will the Bruins improve? Maybe? As a Leafs' fan I hope not.
    Eventually great teams run out of juice, they might keep it going 2 years after their decline, but time catches up, and Sweeney kept gambling that they would be a contender.

  • @Frank-r1j

    I've been saying they need to get younger and faster for 3 years. So Sweeney signs Coyle, Lindholm(X2), and Zadorov for big money. All over 30. Also, last season they were only a .500 team after the All Star break. No one seemed to notice then, but they are still a .500 team now.

    Shannon is absolutely right about Boston, and i have to admit it even as Boston Bruins fan...even with Krejčí and Bergeron in line up, there were parts of the season, when they've struggled to score goals, and their offense has been abysmal in play offs...now, i think, they are clearly at worse position, and like Sahnnon pointed out, there is no easy way out

    This reminds me of the David Backes signing. With almost every contract the bruins sign it’s “well I like it now, but the last 3 years will be rough.” And Sweeney has been handing draft picks out like candy. They lost Forsbaka-Karlsson, Beecher isn’t quite the yet. Idk if Sweeney knows he’s had a drafting and would rather dump the picks for a current player, but the key pieces they are missing you can only get during the draft. I like all the players but it feels like too little too late. For this season they just have like so many new core and younger players that things just aren’t meshing right now. Look at how inconsistent Lohrei has been. Get Big Z and Bergy in the room to give some heart to the boys

They remind me of the Sharks from 2018/2019 - at some point you have to pull the plug and rebuild. The Sharks held on for too long, signed horrible contract extensions, and are now in year 3 of a rebuild with another year or two of bad contract buyouts remaining.

Charlie and/or Jeremy needs to realize that Cam's figerprints are all over this past off-season (Zadorov, Max Jones) and realize he's not helping the organization.
