Thank you for answering my question about where the kill wire goes on the coil.👍

My Briggs 7.5 runs but then shuts off after it heats up. Jacks Small Engine suggested a coil replacement so we"ll see if that remedies the problem.

Dave, I'm having a hard time finding the right part (coil ignition replacement) for a old 2003 craftsman Briggs and Stratton 625 190cc 917 series push mower? Can I just get a coil that fits the screw holes? I'm a woman and have to do everything myself. Can you help explain if I can interchange the old coil with another Briggs and Stratton coil?

It smoked because the motor was on its side and oil got into the exhaust.
Did not know what your original fault was? Can't judge the repair.
Sorry you are feeling so down. Hope your life finds some joy.
    TY

I bet that new-ish coil came from the bent crank mower you started with. Great filming job. I film a lot of stuff that doesn't make it to the upload. The RED ones always run better. LOL You just did a push mower and I am working on a tractor too funny.

What year did they cease production of the Quantam series? I have an 07 6.75 must be one of the last flat heads made before they went to OHV. Great engines

Nice job on that! $50 seems a bit on the lite side to me.

Thanks rusty. You are probably right. I always used to sell pushers with bags between $50 and $75. As soon as I put the ad up messages started coming in and it sold an hour after I made the video so I thought dang I should have said $75. But if you seen that snapper in the foreground I can't seem to give that away and it's a sweet mower

Curious to know why you had to change the coil. I have the same mower and mine makes a knocking sound after running for a couple of minutes. Good quality video BTW.

Hi there. It had no spark is why I changed the coil it doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. Knocking is never a good thing you might have to get another mower soon. I would run it till it doesn't run anymore

I see your pain. A lot of effort for $50. What’s it take, 10 to those to one lawn tractor? Shame to throw it away but the economics just aren’t there. Enjoyed the ride along though. Maybe this will some adventurous sole to fix their own and keep one out of the dump.

Hi John. I sold it an hour after the video for exactly $50. But it's a good mower and somebody needed one. I'll probably just hang on to all them and slowly fix them up. Last night on the way home I seen a push mower sitting on the curb for free .....soooo now it's at my place waiting it's turn

I see, the push mowers are like “crack” to you. Can’t give ‘em up. LOL

I tried replacing the coil. still won't start. Replaced old carb, zippie tied the cable bac, still no start. I give up! Suggestions??

    • @davessmallenginerevival2847
      @davessmallenginerevival2847  3 года назад

Could be a few things. 1st, if it has no spark I'm not sure why you would replace the carb. It could be a bad plug. Or your cable for the handle is stretched out and not pulling far enough to disconnect the kill wire. Zip tie the kill all the way open where the cable connects by the engine and try that. Change the plug first though

Do you suggest draining the gas tank first before getting the tank off and housing or is that optional? Thank you for the video.
