Oh, Haze.. damn you for making me cry (it might be something to do with the glass of wine I'm having). Apart from the beautiful scenery, you said something that hit home with me. I'm struggling mentally and physically at the moment. Having had covid last year, my energy has just been meh...doing 15+ miles used to be no problem but now 5 miles is a struggle, yet I know it makes me happy. And when you said just turning up is the hardest part, I can relate to that. I'm constantly making excuses for not walking, or I'm just exhausted. Thank you for these videos and forever waffle ❤️

I've gone through the ringer these past few weeks and have been feeling pretty grim about myself - break up, feeling like friends have been few and far between, and the pending redundancy with job opportunities quite rare. Really appreciate you sharing things, it's helped me to realise today that I'm not completely happy right now and that I need to take control and take that first step- as you say, it is the hardest part. Thank you for all you do - and big congrats on the well-deserved award. Absolute legend, mate.
I hope you are doing better now mate, life can really put us through it at times but I just try to remember "this too will pass" and to focus on what I have control over (like getting out more!) I've just joined a climbing social club to make more friends, I can't climb lol but always wanted to learn & thought it would kill two birds with one stone! I have really bad anxiety but sometimes you just got to go for it. But honestly, a solo ramble and a cheeky wild camp is usually my go-to for refreshing my spirits. Good luck ❤️
You know what haze I listened to this a year ago and forgot all about it . Rewatching again tonight it's just what I needed to hear life has been tough becoming a full time single dad and the rest of life's troubles. But I have everything I need now a beautiful daughter loads of new out door gear and a sea kayak that I never used last year just bought my new car after my old one died blah blah It's been a battle just trying to get straight. Spring is on its way I just need to stand Infront of the mirror and tell me self I can do this again Remember what you have done in the past You still got it I just needed to hear someone say it 👍 Thanks man
Thanks for this Mr Haze, top man. I’ve been diagnosed with Depression since 2010 and had some very dark, difficult times. Hearing someone else talk about how they feel/think helps a great deal. So thanks My advice -its very easy to sit indoors perhaps having a can. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is the best thing. You don’t have to walk in the lakes, just go for a walk, via a park, to the local cafe. Don’t stay in and don’t cut yourself off from people. It’s hard, but if you do the same thing every time don’t be surprised if you get the same result every time

Not common in the US, but we have them here in northern California. These wild ones have never been coppiced, and so do not produce such nice straight growth as yours do. I have often wondered if ours could be so tended and sculpted. The upside is that I have seen old-growth with basal stem diameters of near seven inches. The nuts are in such high demand you only see them very rarely. We have a lot of chipmunks around here. 37:00 Wild hazel in catkin over your shoulder! ; - )

Haze, great Video! Top tip from the Canadian Rockies - pick up the toe warmers (the little ones with the sticky tape that stick to your socks) and stick one on your batteries! i do this when out skiing at really cold temperatures and my phone will l;ast all day!

It’s a tough culture shift though, and I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression 2 years ago. I’ve been watching you videos for a few years and it’s really helped me. Hello Mate . Depression,anxiety and general mental health issues, I believe, are illness' of isolation. I've suffered on and off over the years. By sharing what you are going through is deffo helping many who are suffering but keep a brave face to family and friends. I'm so glad you're on the up . Great content as always! I went through some very traumatic events in my previous employment and struggled for years with mental health. I have to say though, that I think it's a mistake for us to look to ourselves as the hero. Unfortunately we humans are broken and we constantly fail ourselves and others, almost by the minute. I found my hero in the Lord Jesus. The God who brought the universe into existence and upholds it has comforted me beyond words. This has then given me strength to comfort others. There's a hero and hope if we'll seek in faith. I know it's hard to swallow words like that when you're in a deep dark place and all is closing in around you but I just want to share the hope that has been given to me.❤

Hi mate, you are an absolute legend, you are so authentic. I have absolutely no doubt that opening up, as you do, will help others. Your right, we are living in difficult times and to top it all off, it seems we have all lost our way. Getting back to basics is definitely the way forward, connecting with nature, and yourself. Depression,anxiety and general mental health issues, I believe, are illness' of isolation. I've suffered on and off over the years. By sharing what you are going through is deffo helping many who are suffering but keep a brave face to family and friends. I'm so glad you're on the up . Great content as always! I went through some very traumatic events in my previous employment and struggled for years with mental health. I have to say though, that I think it's a mistake for us to look to ourselves as the hero. Unfortunately we humans are broken and we constantly fail ourselves and others, almost by the minute. I found my hero in the Lord Jesus. The God who brought the universe into existence and upholds it has comforted me beyond words. This has then given me strength to comfort others. There's a hero and hope if we'll seek in faith. I know it's hard to swallow words like that when you're in a deep dark place and all is closing in around you but I just want to share the hope that has been given to me.❤

4 o’clock, sleepless night and then along comes you to save me. Great adventure, beautiful beautiful country. You’ve really put your heart into it, that’s what I see. Gotta go out and use me legs again. It’s been too long. Argh , German winter sucks your brains and spirits out if you’re not in the right head space. But that was a kickstart.
