That was the most enjoyable wild camp video I have ever seen. You have a lovely happy personality, and the joy you feel out there is very evident and welcome. I know those feelings well myself. As a 70 year old fart, who has been wild camping for the best part of 55 years. I think you are the first outdoors man I have seen, who actually merits possession of a Hilleberg. Rather than the vast majority who feel entitled, but little more. You even know how too cook. . . doesn't that just add to the pleasure of being out there. Hats off to you bonny lad. Stay safe and cosy, and have yourself a wonderful Christmas. My respects, and all the best too you. Regards from Keith in Pembrokeshire.
@@Galaxyofbrian he did mate, but saying your camping at a tarn in the Lake District is very vague as there are loads of Tarns, so people aren’t goin to go camp at a specific one, like some weird Hazy pilgrims😂😂
It’s an interesting one about whether to give away the location. Personally I think as the location for this video is a very well known area of the Lakes I don’t see the need for the secrecy, but everyone to their own. This is actually one of the few areas of the Lakes I haven’t personally been to, but definitely on the to do list. Really enjoyed the vlog, keep up the good work.
Mike Tomkies dude, I started with 'Alone in the Wilderness' when I was but a nipper, I'd be surprised if you haven't read him but he was a remarkable man and an inspirational writer...
I'm from the U.S. where fall is cold but clear but now I live in Ireland. Your videos are giving me so much courage to get out and camp no matter what crap the weather is! I hope my little tent is up to it!
This is the happiest I've ever seen you in all of your videos. You're always happy and jovial, but I think contentment and satisfaction with the new tent are radiating from you. Good for you for braving the weather, but that's what you wanted to really test the tent out. Entertaining and very witty as usual.. Have a great Christmas and New year👍

I'm listening to an new audiobook at the moment called The Book of Trespass, it's about land ownership in Britain and how we ended up being fenced off from most of what used to be common land. It's kind of told as a history of British land ownership and how we got screwed over by the elites (relevant haha), interspersed with the author's accounts of trespassing in cool places (and being chased off a lot). Really interesting and probably right up your street!
I'm convinced now, it doesn't matter how good the content is, how entertaining, how informative, how well filmed and edited, there's about 20 odd people out there on RUclips that automatically hit the dislike button just for the sheer hell of it.

Would you still recommend that tent? Seeing as you woke up wet? Or was it simply too much weather .. just asking as I'm looking to get a new tent :~) Awesome content as always
I’ve got the sane tent. I haven’t had the yellow inner tent wet, but the outer tent goes all the way to the ground and gets condensation. But I don’t ventilate it which is probably the wrong way to do it. It’s not very roomy for two people, but nice space for one.
I used to be up all night making sure the kids weren’t pressed up against the sides of the tent with the moisture seeping into their bags. I was sooo happy when we got a bigger tent & we weren’t up against the sides anymore. Then also, I was always glad for the rain to turn to snow. Then it was quiet and I could get some sleep. 😂 Earplugs never worked for me, but I’ve discovered the sleep mask with flat earbuds inside. I listen to the audio books most nights and it’s pretty good at blocking out other noises. Especially with a beanie over them. Total quiet from outside noise really. I just have to remember to bookmark my place for those nights I sleep through a chapter or two!
